I just want to give you a little flashback of what we studied last Sabbath. Basically we're studying about Earth's final battle, and I'm going to review some very elementary and important things that will set the stage for part two of our study this morning.

 

Saya hanya ingin memberi sedikit kilas balik dari apa yang telah kita pelajari Sabat yang lalu. You'll remember ~ those of you who were here last Sabbath ~ that the Bible says that after the close of probation there will be seven devastating Plagues that will fall upon planet Earth. These Plagues will be God's judgments unmixed with mercy, and they will return the earth to the condition it was in before creation week. Jeremiah saw the earth and it was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the earth. Everything will be thrown out of whack so to speak, and the earth will be an inhospitable and  uninhabitable place.

 

Kalian ingat ~ kalian yang ada di sini Sabat lalu ~ bahwa Alkitab mengatakan setelah tutupnya pintu kasihan, akan ada Tujuh Malapetaka penghancur yang akan jatuh ke atas planet Bumi. Malapetaka-malapetaka ini akan menjadi hukuman Allah yang tidak bercampur belas kasihan, dan mereka akan mengembalikan bumi ke kondisinya semula sebelum minggu penciptaan. Yeremiah melihat bumi ini dan kondisinya tanpa bentuk dan kosong, dan kegelapan menyelimuti permukaannya. Katakanlah, segala sesuatu akan jungkir balik berantakan, dan bumi akan menjadi tempat yang kejam dan tidak bisa ditinggali.

 

 

Now last Sabbath we studied the last three of these Seven Plagues: Plague number 5, number 6, and number 7. And obviously we cannot go into a full study once again of these Plagues, so I'm only going to synthesize the highlights of what we studied last week.

 

Nah, Sabat lalu kita sudah mempelajari tiga Malapetaka yang terakhir dari Ketujuh Malapetaka itu: Malapetaka Kelima, Malapetaka Keenam, Malapetaka Ketujuh. Jelas kita tidak bisa mengulangi seluruh pelajaran Malapetaka-malapetaka itu sekali lagi, jadi saya hanya akan merangkum titik-titik yang penting dari apa yang kita pelajari minggu lalu.

 

 

If you remember the Fifth Plague is a Plague of darkness that falls upon the throne of the Beast, and his kingdom is filled with darkness.

 

Jika kalian ingat, Malapetaka Kelima itu malapetaka kegelapan yang jatuh ke atas takhta Binatang itu, dan kerajaannya dipenuhi kegelapan.

 

 

And then we studied the Sixth Plague. The Sixth Plague is the drying up of the river Euphrates to prepare the way for the Kings that come from the East. Now we notice that this is not speaking literally, it's speaking symbolically.

Which kingdom in the Old Testament was sitting upon the river Euphrates? The kingdom of Babylon, and its river was its source of certainty. But the Bible says that the Euphrates river upon which Babylon sits is going to what? To dry up. What does the river represent? Because we're dealing with symbols, the river represents multitudes, nations, tongues, and peoples. In other words, the kingdom of the Beast, or the Harlot, or Babylon, at some point, though the multitudes, nations, tongues, and peoples support this system (she sits on them, she governs upon them), the Bible says that at some point they are going to withdraw their support, they're going to dry up on her. And you noticed last Sabbath that the kings of the earth that supported her, according to Revelation 17:16 will rise against her, and they will make her desolate and naked, and they will burn her with fire, according to Scripture.

And of course  this will prepare the way for the coming of Jesus Christ and His hosts on the clouds of heaven to rescue His people from certain death.

 

Kemudian kita belajar tentang Malapetaka Keenam. Malapetaka Keenam adalah mengeringnya sungai Efrat untuk mempersiapkan jalan bagi Raja-raja yang datang dari Timur. Nah, kita sudah menyimak bahwa ini tidak bicara secara literal, ini bicara secara simbolis.

Kerajaan mana di zaman Perjanjian Lama yang duduk di atas sungai Efrat? Kerajaan Babilon, dan sungainya adalah sumber kepastiannya. Tetapi Alkitab berkata bahwa sungai Efrat di atas mana Babilon itu duduk, akan apa? Mengering. Sungai itu melambangkan apa? Karena kita berurusan dengan simbol, sungai itu melambangkan orang banyak, bangsa-bangsa, bahasa-bahasa, dan kaum-kaum.

Dengan kata lain, kerajaan Binatang itu, atau perempuan Pelacur itu, atau Babilon, pada suatu saat ~ walaupun orang banyak, bangsa-bangsa, bahasa-bahasa dan kaum-kaum mendukungnya (dia duduk di atas mereka, dia memerintah atas mereka) ~ Alkitab berkata pada suatu saat mereka akan menarik kembali dukungan mereka, sungai itu akan mengering baginya. Dan kalian sudah menyimak Sabat lalu bhwa raja-raja yang mendukungnya, menurut Wahyu 17:16 akan bangkit melawannya, dan raja-raja itu akan membuatnya terlantar dan telanjang, dan menurut Kitab Suci mereka akan membakarnya dengan api.

Dan tentu saja ini mempersiapkan jalan bagi kedatangan Yesus Kristus dan balatentaranya di awan-awan di langit untuk menyelamatkan umatNya dari kematian yang pasti.

 

 

And then of course we noticed the Seventh Plague. The Seventh Plague has several phenomena connected with it, for example a voice is heard from the temple that says, “It is done!” And when that voice is heard from the temple, there are noises, and there is thunder, and there is lightning, and there's a global earthquake, islands disappear, mountain ranges disappear, and the Bible says that Babylon the great city is divided into three parts.

Notice that before this, Babylon was united: the dragon, the Beast, and the false prophet, were all on the same page. They wanted to flood and they wanted to destroy God's people. But when the Sixth Plague falls, the river is dried up, the multitudes withdraw their support from this system, and then the voice is heard, “It is done!” The Bible says that there will be thunder, and lightning, and a global earthquake, and Babylon which was united will be divided, and there will be incredible phenomena in nature.

 

Kemudian tentu saja kita sudah menyimak Malapetaka Ketujuh. Malapetaka Ketujuh punya beberapa fenomena yang terkait, misalnya ada suara yang terdengar dari Bilik Mahakudus yang berkata, “Sudah selesai!”. Dan ketika suara itu terdengar dari Bilik Mahakudus, ada suara-suara, dan ada guntur, dan ada kilat, dan ada gempa bumi yang global, pulau-pulau lenyap, rangkaian gunung menghilang, dan Alkitab berkata bahwa Babilon kota besar itu terbagi menjadi tiga bagian.

Simak, sebelum ini Babilon itu bersatu: naga, Binatang, dan nabi palsu, semuanya seia-sekata. Mereka mau membanjiri dan membinasakan umat Allah. Tetapi ketika Malapetaka Keenam jatuh, sungai itu mengering, orang banyak menarik dukungan mereka dari sistem ini, dan kemudian terdengar suara yang berkata “Sudah selesai!” Alkitab berkata akan ada guntur, kilat, dan gempa bumi global, dan Babilon yang tadinya bersatu akan terpecah, dan akan ada fenomena-fenomena yang luar biasa di alam semesta.

 

 

And then we studied these three last Plagues from the perspective of Exodus 14 and 15. And I want to go back to that story and review it because it illustrates the period of these last three Plagues. You remember that Israel was captive in Egypt and of course they cried out to God for deliverance because of their captivity. The Bible says that God heard their cry. Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and they said to Pharaoh, “Let God's people go!” in other words, they're making a call for God's people to come out of Egypt. And of course the Bible says that God's people came out of Egypt. Was Pharaoh particularly happy about God's people coming out of Egypt? Absolutely not! And so the Bible says that Pharaoh kicked into action and he prepared his armies to attack Israel. And of course in Exodus 14:3 we find that Pharaoh thought that Israel was actually shut in at the edge of the Red Sea, and there was absolutely no escape from his power.

But then we noticed several very interesting things that happened at the edge of the Red Sea. When Pharaoh and his armies are rushing towards Israel to destroy God's people that have come out of Egypt by the call of God ~ they've been delivered from bondage ~ the Bible says that the pillar of cloud-the pillar of fire that was before Israel went up over their heads, behind their backs, and put itself between the army of the Egyptians and God's faithful people at the edge of the Red Sea. And the Bible says that upon the wicked Egyptians there was darkness, but upon God's people there was glorious radiant light. Darkness for the wicked and light for God's people. That is the period of the Fifth Plague.

 

Kemudian kita mempelajari ketiga malapetaka ini dari sudut pandang Keluaran 14 dan 15. Dan saya mau kembali ke kisah itu dan mengulanginya karena itu menggambarkan periode dari ketiga malapetaka terakhir ini. Kalian ingat bahwa Israel adalah tawanan di Mesir dan tentu saja mereka berteriak kepada Allah supaya diselamatkan karena perbudakan mereka. Alkitab berkata Allah mendengar seruan mereka. Musa dan Harun menghadap Firaun dan mereka berkata kepada Firaun, “Izinkan umat Allah pergi!”, dengan kata lain mereka membuat panggilan agar umat Allah keluar dari Mesir. Dan tentu saja Alkitab berkata bahwa umat Allah keluar dari Mesir. Apakah Firaun senang dengan keluarnya umat Allah dari Mesir? Sama sekali tidak! Maka Alkitab berkata Firaun segera mengambil tindakan dan dia mempersiapkan pasukannya untuk menyerang Israel. Dan tentu saja di Keluaran 14:3 kita mendapatkan Firaun menyangka Israel sesungguhnya sudah terkunci di tepi Laut Merah, dan sama sekali tidak bisa lolos dari kuasanya.

Tetapi kemudian kita melihat beberapa hal yang menarik yang terjadi di tepi Laut Merah. Ketika Firaun dan pasukannya sedang bergegas mengejar Israel untuk membinasakan umat Allah yang lewat panggilan Allah telah keluar dari Mesir ~ mereka telah diselamatkan dari perbudakan ~ Alkitab berkata bahwa tiang awan-tiang api yang ada di depan umat Israel naik melewati kepala mereka pergi ke belakang mereka, dan menempatkan dirinya di antara pasukan Mesir dan umat Allah yang setia di tepi Laut Merah. Dan Alkitab berkata bahwa pada bangsa Mesir yang jahat jatuh kegelapan, tetapi bagi umat Allah ada cahaya terang yang indah. Kegelapan bagi yang jahat dan terang bagi umat Allah. Itu adalah periode Malapetaka Kelima.

 

 

But then we noticed that there was still an obstacle for God's people to be able to escape and what was that? The waters of the Red Sea. As long as the waters were united there was no escape for God's people. But if the waters could be “divided”, which is the word that is used in Exodus 14, or “dried up” which is also used in Exodus chapter 14 and chapter 15, then if the waters were dried up, a way would be prepared for God's people so that they could escape from the Egyptians. And that's exactly what happened.

The Bible says that the waters of the Red Sea were dried up, or they were divided, no longer were they united. Now the waters that helped the Egyptians become enemies of the Egyptians, and of course the Bible says that the Egyptians went into the midst of the sea and they thought that the Israelites were going to be easy prey. But when they were in the middle of the sea of the waters that had been dried up, the Bible says that the waters came back upon them, avalanched themselves upon them, and destroyed the enemies of God's people. And not one single person of the Egyptians was left.

 

Tetapi kemudian kita menyimak bahwa masih ada halangan bagi umat Allah untuk bisa lolos, dan apakah itu? Air-air Laut Merah. Selama air-air itu bersatu, tidak ada kesempatan bagi umat Allah untuk lolos. Tetapi jika air-air itu bisa “dibagi (dibelah)” yang adalah kata yang dipakai di Keluaran 14, atau “dikeringkan” kata yang juga dipakai di Keluaran pasal 14 dan 15, maka jika air-air itu dikeringkan, suatu jalan bisa disiapkan bagi umat Allah supaya mereka bisa lolos dari bangsa Mesir. Dan persis itulah yang terjadi.

Alkitab berkata bahwa air-air Laut Merah dikeringkan atau mereka dibagi (dibelah), mereka tidak lagi menyatu. Air-air yang tadinya membantu bangsa Mesir, sekarang menjadi musuh bangsa Mesir, dan tentu saja Alkitab berkata bahwa orang-orang Mesir itu mengejar masuk ke tengah laut itu, mereka mengira bangsa Israel akan menjadi mangsa empuk. Tetapi ketika mereka berada di tengah-tengah laut yang airya telah dikeringkan, Alkitab berkata bahwa airnya kembali kepada mereka, jatuh menimpa orang-orang Mesir itu dan membinasakan musuh-musuh umat Allah. Dan tidak ada seorang pun orang Mesir yang tersisa.

 

 

I'd like to read from Exodus 14:23-25 the spectacular story of what happened there at the edge of the Red Sea. Exodus 14:23-25, “ ²³ And the Egyptians pursued and went after them into the midst of the sea…” and remember that the sea, the waters represent multitudes, nations, tongues, and peoples. It continues saying,  “…all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen. ²⁴ Now it came to pass, in the morning watch…”  that is at the sun rising,  “…that the Lord looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He…” what?  “…He troubled the army of the Egyptians...” you remember the panic that would come upon the wicked in Zechariah chapter 14:12-13 that would lead them to use their weapons to destroy one another, when they were actually planning on using those weapons to destroy God's people? Notice here that you have a panic. It continues saying in verse 24,  “…²⁴ Now it came to pass, in the morning watch that the Lord looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He troubled the army of the Egyptians.²⁵ And He took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said…” now here comes a very important point,  “…and the Egyptians said, ‘Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.’…”

Let me ask you, who was this battle between? Well, if you look at it historically it's between the Egyptians and whom? The Israelites, right? But the Israelites on their own are dead. So when Pharaoh wants to touch God's people, he is actually touching whom? He's touching God, because God is in a covenant relationship with Israel. Israel are His people. In other words, this battle is not merely the Egyptians versus the Israelites, it's the Egyptians versus Israel's God and His people. In other words, in fighting against the people of God, Pharaoh is fighting against the God of the people.

 

Saya ingin membaca dari Keluaran 14:23-25, kisah spektakuler dari apa yang terjadi di sana di tepi Laut Merah. Keluaran 14:23-25, “²³ Dan orang-orang Mesir mengejar dan menyusul mereka ke tengah-tengah laut…”  dan ingat bahwa laut, air-air melambangkan orang banyak, bangsa-bangsa, bahasa-bahasa, dan kaum-kaum. Dikatakan selanjutnya,   “…segala kuda Firaun, keretanya, dan orang-orangnya yang berkuda. ²⁴ Dan terjadilah, pada waktu jaga pagi…”  yaitu waktu matahari terbit,   “…TUHAN memandang ke bawah ke tentara orang Mesir dari tiang api dan awan itu dan Dia…”  apa?   “…Dia  mengacau tentara orang Mesir itu…”  kalian ingat kepanikan yang akan muncul pada orang-orang jahat di Zakharia 14:12-13 yang mengakibatkan mereka memakai senjata mereka untuk saling bunuh, padahal sebenarnya senjata-senjata itu mereka siapkan untuk membinasakan umat Allah? Simak di sini ada kepanikan. Selanjutnya dikatakan di ayat 24,   “…²⁴ Dan terjadilah, pada waktu jaga pagi,TUHAN memandang ke bawah ke tentara orang Mesir dari tiang api dan awan itu, dan Dia  mengacau tentara orang Mesir itu. ²⁵ Dan Ia mencopot roda kereta mereka, sehingga mereka mengendarainya dengan kesulitan, dan orang-orang Mesir berkata,…”  nah, sekarang ada poin yang sangat penting,  “…dan orang-orang Mesir berkata, ‘Marilah kita lari meninggalkan orang Israel, sebab TUHAN-lah yang berperang untuk mereka melawan Mesir.’…"

Coba saya tanya, pertempuran ini antara siapa? Nah, jika kita melihatnya dari sejarah, itu adalah antara bangsa Mesir dan siapa? Bangsa Israel, bukan? Tetapi bangsa Israel kalau menghadapinya sendiri, sudah pasti mati. Maka ketika Firaun mau menyentuh umat Allah, sesungguhnya dia menyentuh siapa? Dia menyentuh Allah, karena Allah berada dalam hubungan perjanjian dengan Israel, Israel adalah umatNya. Dengan kata lain, pertempuran ini bukan hanya antara bangsa Mesir versus bangsa Israel, melainkan bangsa Mesir versus Allah Israel dan umatNya. Dengan kata lain, dengan bertempur dengan umat Allah, Firaun bertempur melawan Allah umat itu.

 

 

Now let me illustrate this point. Saul of Tarsus was once on the road to Damascus to persecute the church, and when he was near Damascus, the Bible says that he was thrown to the ground by a brilliant light from heaven, and a voice was heard that said, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?”

And I’d just like to imagine Saul of Tarsus, he's hearing this voice from heaven, he is saying, now, wait a minute is Damascus up? I'm not going to Damascus which is in heaven, you know, I'm going over to Damascus, it's  horizontal, it's not vertical. And so Saul of Tarsus says, “Who are You, Lord, that I'm persecuting?”

And the voice came that said, “I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting.”

In other words, in fighting against the people of God he was fighting against the God of the people.

And the reason I mentioned this is because you know, you read evangelical literature and you find that their idea is that, you know, Jesus Christ is going to be coming from Heaven with His armies, according to Revelation 19; and the Beast and the false prophet are going to be on earth, and they're going to be ready to fight against the One who is seated on the white horse. And they say that, you know, the wicked are throwing nuclear weapons at Jesus and His armies, and Jesus you know, He's pouring out His wrath upon the wicked in the world.

That's not the way it is.

 

Sekarang mari saya ilustrasikan poin ini. Saul dari Tarsus suatu kali dalam perjalanan ke Damaskus (Damsyik) dalam rangka mempersekusi gereja, ketika dia sudah dekat Damaskus, Alkitab berkata bahwa dia terlempar ke tanah oleh suatu cahaya yang sangat terang dari langit, dan sebuah suara terdengar yang mengatakan, “Saul, Saul, mengapa kamu mempersekusi Aku?”

Dan saya bayangkan Saul dari Tarsus ini, dia mendengar suara dari langit, dia berkata, tunggu sebentar, memangnya Damaskus ada di atas? Aku tidak ke Damaskus yang di Surga, aku ke Damaskus yang horizontal, bukan vertikal. Maka Saul dari Tarus berkata, “Siapakah Engkau, Tuan, yang aku persekusi?”

Dan suara itu datang dan berkata, “Akulah Yesus dari Nazaret, yang kamu persekusi.”

Dengan kata lain, dengan bertempur melawan umat Allah, Saul bertempur melawan Allah umat itu.

Dan alasan saya menyinggung ini ialah karena kalian tahu, jika kita membaca literatur Evangelis kita akan melihat konsep mereka, yaitu Yesus Kristus akan datang dari Surga dengan balatentaraNya menurut Wahyu 19; dan Binatang dan nabi palsu akan ada di dunia waktu itu, dan mereka akan siap berperang melawan Dia yang mengendarai kuda putih. Dan mereka berkata bahwa orang-orang jahat akan melemparkan senjata nuklir pada Yesus dan tentaraNya, dan Yesus akan mencurahkan murkaNya ke atas orang-orang jahat di bumi.

Bukan begitu mestinya.

 

 

You see, according to this story of Exodus 14, we find that the dragon, the Beast, and the false prophet, are fighting against God in the person of His people. The Battle of Armageddon is a battle of the wicked against God in the person of His people.

And so we need to understand that this final battle is not some literal battle over in the Middle East between Eastern nations and Western nations, between the Chinese and the Russians and the Arabs coming against literal Israel over the Middle East. That is not the battle. The battle is fighting against God in the person of His people. And God either intervenes to deliver His people or His people will be destroyed from the face of the earth.

Let me illustrate the point. In the Old Testament the model shepherd was David. What happened when a beast, a wild beast such as a lion or a bear came to eat up one of David's sheep? What did David do? He said, I'm out of here? No, that's not what he said. What did he do? He'd go after the lion, he’d go after the bear, if necessary with his bare hands, to take away the sheep that the bear or the lion had attacked. Why did David do that? Because David and his sheep were one. He who touched a sheep touched David.

Who is the Good Shepherd? Jesus is the Good Shepherd. What happens when the wicked touch a sheep that belongs to Jesus, the Good Shepherd? Jesus says, “Now you're meddling with Me!”

 

Kalian lihat, menurut kisah Keluaran 14, kita melihat naga, Binatang, dan nabi palsu, berperang melawan Allah dalam pribadi umatNya. Peperangan Harmagedon adalah peperangan orang-orang jahat melawan Allah dalam  pribadi umatNya.

Karena itu kita perlu memahami bahwa peperangan terakhir ini bukan suatu peperangan literal di Timur Tengah antara bangsa-bangsa Timur melawan bangsa-bangsa Barat, antara bangsa-bangsa Cina dan Rusia dan Arab yang datang melawan bangsa Israel literal di Timur Tengah. Bukan itu perangnya. Perangnya ialah melawan Allah dalam pribadi  umatNya. Dan Allah campur tangan untuk menyelamatkan umatNya, kalau tidak, umatNya akan dibinasakan dari muka bumi.

Mari saya ilustrasikan poin itu. Di zaman Perjanjian Lama, gembala teladan adalah Daud. Apa yang terjadi ketika seekor binatang buas seperti singa atau beruang datang untuk memangsa salah satu domba-domba Daud? Apa yang dilakukan Daud? Dia berkata, aku segera kabur? Tidak! Bukan itu katanya. Apa yang dilakukannya? Dia akan pergi mengejar singa itu, mengejar beruang itu, bila perlu dengan tangan kosong, untuk merebut kembali domba yang diserang oleh beruang atau singa itu. Mengapa Daud berbuat demikian? Karena Daud dan dombanya adalah satu. Dia yang menyentuh seekor domba Daud, sama dengan menyentuh Daud.

Siapakah Gembala yang Baik? Yesus Gembala yang Baik. Apa yang terjadi bila orang-orang jahat menyentuh seekor domba milik Yesus Gembala yang Baik? Yesus berkata, “Sekarang kalian punya urusan sama Aku!”

 

 

Let me give you another illustration. You know Jesus is the Head, and the church is the body. Let me ask you, when somebody pricks you in the finger with a needle does your head feel it? Actually it's your head that feels it. So whatever is done to the body is felt by the head. What is the body of Christ? The church is the body of Christ. So what happens when the wicked beat up on the body of Christ? Whom are they beating up on? They are beating up on Jesus Christ, because He is the Head and His church is the body.

 

Mari saya berikan ilustrasi yang lain. Kalian tahu Yesus adalah KepalaNya, dan gereja (jemaat) adalah tubuhNya. Coba saya saya, bila jari tangan kita ditusuk jarum apakah kepala kita merasakannya? Sebenarnya memang kepala kita yang merasakannya. Jadi apa pun yang dilakukan kepada tubuh itu dirasakan oleh kepala. Tubuh Kristus itu apa? Gereja itu tubuh Kristus. Jadi apa yang terjadi bila orang-orang jahat menyakiti tubuh Kristus? Siapa yang mereka sakiti? Mereka menyakiti Yesus Kristus karena Dialah KepalaNya dan gerejaNya adalah tubuhNya.

 

 

I can give you another illustration. The Bible says that Jesus is the husband and the church is His wife. Let me ask you, Brother Gesky, what would happen if somebody started mistreating your wife? Brother Gesky would be a nice Christian, he would sit back and just watch. Even though he's an elder of the church, I doubt it. He would do something to defend his wife. But I would say what's the big deal? Julie's not you. Is she? Yes! Because the Bible says that when you get married you become what? You “become one flesh… they are no longer two but one”, which means that whoever touches her, touches him.

 

Saya bisa memberi kalian ilustrasi yang lain. Alkitab berkata bahwa Yesus adalah suaminya dan gereja adalah istriNya. Karena Alkitab berkata, pada waktu kalian kawin, kalian menjadi apa? Kalian “menjadi satu daging. Demikianlah mereka bukan lagi dua, melainkan satu” (Mat. 19:5-6)  yang berarti siapa pun yang menyentuh si istri, menyentuh suaminya.

 

 

And so when the wicked waters at the end of time, the waters of Babylon of this worldwide system, want to destroy and drown God's people, Jesus says, “Now, hold on a minute! I'm going to join this battle because these people are in a covenant relationship with Me. ‘In that you have done it unto one of these the least My brethren, you have done it unto Me’,” is what the Bible says.

 

Maka ketika air-air yang jahat pada akhir zaman, air-air Babilon, sistem yang mendunia ini, mau membinasakan dan menenggelamkan umat Allah, Yesus berkata, “Hei, tahan dulu! Aku akan ikut dalam pertempuran itu karena orang-orang ini ada dalam hubungan perjanjian denganKu. “Sesungguhnya apa pun yang kamu perbuat kepada salah satu dari saudaraKu yang paling hina, kamu telah melakukannya padaKu” (Mat. 25:40), itulah kata Alkitab.

 

 

And then of course Israel knew very well that none of the glory belonged to them because they did not deliver themselves. Notice Exodus 14:17-18, God makes it very clear that all of the honor and glory belong to Him.  Exodus 14:17-18, “ ¹⁷ And I indeed will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them…” that is they'll follow Israel.  “…So I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen. ¹⁸ Then the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gained honor for Myself over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”

In other words, the deliverance belongs to whom? To God.

 

Kemudian tentu saja Israel tahu betul bahwa semua kemuliaan itu bukan milik mereka karena mereka tidak menyelamatkan diri mereka sendiri. Simak Keluaran 14:17-18, Allah membuatnya sangat jelas bahwa semua kehormatan dan kemuliaan itu adalah milikNya. Keluaran 14:17-18, “¹⁷ Tetapi sungguh Aku akan mengeraskan hati orang Mesir, dan mereka akan menyusul mereka…”  maksudnya mereka akan menyusul orang Israel,   “…sehingga Aku akan mendapat kehormatan di atas Firaun dan atas seluruh pasukannya, keretanya dan orangnya yang berkuda. ¹⁸ Maka orang Mesir akan mengetahui, bahwa Akulah TUHAN, apabila Aku mendapatkan kehormatan bagi DiriKu sendiri di atas Firaun, keretanya dan orangnya yang berkuda."

Dengan kata lain, penyelamatan itu karya siapa? Karya Allah.

 

 

You know sometimes I wonder about what we do in Sabbath school with our kids. We tell them the story of Daniel in the lions’ den. We say that Daniel, he was a great guy. I mean you know, he  stood firm with the Lord. You know, he was willing to be thrown into the lions’ den. Let me tell you what, none of the glory belonged to Daniel, because if God had not intervened Daniel would have been cat-food, isn’t that right? The honor and glory belonged to who? To God.

What about the three young men that were cast into the fiery furnace? We say, “Oh dare to be a Daniel”, and that's good, nothing’s wrong with daring to be a Daniel. But the big story is not about Daniel, the big story is about Daniel's God. The big story is not about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, the big story is about their covenant relationship with God, and God intervening to deliver His people from destruction and from annihilation.

 

Kalian tahu, terkadang saya bertanya-tanya apa yang kita lakukan di Sekolah Sabat dengan anak-anak kita. Kita beri mereka cerita tentang Daniel di gua singa. Kita berkata bahwa Daniel, dia orang hebat, maksud saya, dia berdiri kokoh bersama Tuhan, dia ikhlas dilemparkan ke dalam gua singa. Saya akan memberitahu kalian, tidak sedikit pun dari kemuliaan itu milik Daniel, karena andaikan Allah tidak campur tangan, Daniel sudah menjadi makanan kucing, bukankah demikian? Kehormatan dan kemuliaan itu milik siapa? Milik Allah.

Bagaimana dengan ketiga pemuda yang dilemparkan ke dalam tungku api yang menyala? Kita berkata, “Oh, berani seperti Daniel”, dan itu bagus saja, tidak ada yang salah dengan berani seperti Daniel. Tetapi kisah besarnya bukan tentang Daniel, kisah besarnya ialah tentang Allah Daniel. Kisah besarnya bukan tentang Sadrakh, Mesakh, dan Abednego. Kisah besarnya ialah tentang hubungan perjanjian mereka dengan Allah, dan Allah yang turun tangan menyelamatkan umatNya dari kehancuran dan pembinasaan total.

 

 

And so we have the drying up of the waters, the confusion of the Egyptians. And then you remember we read last time from Psalm 77 where it speaks about God leading Israel by the hand of Moses and Aaron, and we read about a global earthquake, we read about thunder, we read about lightning, we read about precipitation, we read about God's voice speaking, when Israel crossed the Red Sea. Those are all phenomena connected with the Seventh Plague. And so basically God in the experience of Israel is foreshadowing what will happen on a global scale at the end of time. Are you understanding the principle?

·       What was literal and local in the Old Testament becomes global, and it becomes spiritual or symbolic at the end of time.

·       We're not dealing at the end of time with literal Babylon so we're not dealing with literally Israel either.

·       We're not dealing with the literal river Euphrates, we're dealing with multitudes, nations, tongues, and peoples.

·       The Euphrates river that is at flood stage intending to destroy God's people of course commanded by the Harlot that sits upon the waters and allied with the kings that helped her along. 

 

Maka ada air-air yang dikeringkan yaitu kebingungan orang-orang Mesir. Dan kemudian kalian ingat terakhir kalinya kita sudah membaca dari Mazmur 77 yang mengatakan bahwa  Allah membimbing Israel dengan tangan Musa dan Harun, dan kita sudah membaca tentang gempa bumi global, kita sudah membaca tentang guntur, kita sudah membaca tentang kilat, kita sudah membaca tentang hujan batu es, kita sudah membaca tentang suara Allah yang berbicara, ketika Israel menyeberangi Laut Merah. Itulah semua fenomena yang berkaitan dengan Malapetaka Ketujuh. Maka pada dasarnya melalui pengalaman Israel, Allah memberikan gambaran pendahulu dari apa yang akan terjadi pada akhir masa dengan skala global. Apakah kalian memahami prinsipnya?

·       Apa yang literal dan lokal (setempat) di Perjanjian Lama, menjadi global dan menjadi spiritual atau simbolis pada akhir zaman.

·       Pada masa akhir zaman kita tidak berurusan dengan Babilon literal, maka kita juga tidak berurusan dengan Israel literal.

·       Kita tidak berurusan dengan sungai Efrat yang literal, kita berurusan dengan orang banyak, bangsa-bangsa, bahasa-bahasa, dan kaum-kaum.

·       Sungai Efrat saat tahap tinggi airnya, berniat untuk membinasakan umat Allah, tentu saja atas perintah perempuan Pelacur yang duduk di atas air-air yang bekerjasama dengan raja-raja yang senantiasa menolongnya.

 

 

And now I’m going to share with you a very interesting perspective of the Battle of Armageddon. We've dealt with the biblical foundations. Now what I want to do is, I want to go to the book, The Great Controversy. After we've dealt with the Bible, now we see what Ellen White had to say about this. And you know, it's simply amazing the description that Ellen White gives of this period of human history.

 

Dan sekarang saya akan membagikan kepada kalian suatu perspektif yang sangat menarik dari Perang Harmagedon. Kita sudah mempelajari fondasi alkitabiahnya. By the way before we get into talking about Ellen White's view of these events you remember what Israel's sang after the darkness, after the sea was dried up, after the sea swallowed up the Egyptians, after the thunder, the lightning, and so on? Israel got on the other side of the sea, what did they sing? They sang the song of Moses which is the song of their victory. And if you read the song of Moses it's in Exodus 15, you’ll find from the first till the last verse, the honor and the glory are for God. Israel claims none of the glory in this hymn. It's a hymn of honor and glory and praise to the power of God because God was the one who delivered them.

 

Nah, sebelum kita bahas tentang pandangan Ellen White mengenai peristiwa-peristiwa ini, kalian ingat apa yang dinyanyikan Israel setelah kegelapan itu, setelah lautnya mengering, setelah lautnya menelan habis orang-orang Mesir, setelah guntur, kilat, dan yang lain-lain? Israel tiba di seberang laut itu, dan apa yang mereka nyanyikan? Mereka menyanyikan lagu Musa, yang adalah lagu kemenangan mereka. Dan jika kita baca lagu Musa, itu di Keluaran 15, kita akan melihat dari ayat pertama hingga ayat terakhir, kehormatan dan kemuliaan adalah bagi Allah. Di nyanyian ini Israel sama sekali tidak mengklaim sedikit pun dari kemuliaan itu. Itu adalah lagu yang memberikan kehormatan, dan kemuliaan, dan pujian kepada kuasa Allah karena Allah-lah yang telah menyelamatkan mereka.

 

 

Now I want to tell you something about how to read Ellen White. You know many times there are passages from prophecy that Ellen White clearly describes but she doesn't quote the verses, and she doesn't use the language. And so unless you're a perceptive reader and a careful reader, you would never know that Ellen White is commenting about that passage of Scripture, because she doesn't quote it, and she doesn't many times even allude to the language.

 

Nah, saya mau memberitahu kalian bagaimana caranya membaca Ellen White. Kalian tahu, seringkali ada ayat-ayat Alkitab tentang nubuatan yang jelas diterangkan Ellen White namun dia tidak mengutip ayat-ayat tersebut dan dia tidak memakai kata-kata ayat tersebut. Maka, kecuali kita seorang pembaca yang cepat mengerti dan teliti, kita tidak akan tahu bahwa Ellen White sedang mengomentari ayat-ayat Kitab Suci karena dia tidak mengutip ayat-ayat itu dan seringkali dia bahkan tidak memakai bahasa yang mirip.

 

 

Just to give you a couple of examples before we go to Great Controversy about this end-time battle, Ellen White never in all of her writings ~ seventy years she was called to be a prophet ~ not once did Ellen White ever quote Daniel 11:40-45. Neither does she even allude to the language. She never even uses the language of Daniel 11:40-45 which is describing the end time crisis. And so some people say, “See, Ellen White didn't have anything to say about Daniel 11:40-45.” Big mistake. Now I'm not going to get into all how we study this here, but if you actually look at Great Controversy the chapter “God's People Delivered” and you work backwards, you're going to notice that Ellen White describes and explains Daniel 11:40-45 with luxury of details. But she never quotes the verses and she never even alludes to the language. But you know by the events that she's describing, that that is fulfilling what you find in those verses.

 

Sekadar memberikan beberapa contoh sebelum kita ke Great Controversy tentang peperangan akhir masa, Ellen White tidak pernah dalam semua tulisannya ~ selama tujuh puluh tahun dia dipanggil sebagai nabi ~ tidak pernah satu kali pun dia mengutip Daniel 11:40-45. Dia juga tidak pernah memakai kata-kata yang sama. Dia bahkan tidak memakai bahasa Daniel 11:40-45 yang menggambarkan krisis akhir zaman. Dan ada yang berkata, “Lihat, Ellen White tidak berkata apa-apa tentang Daniel11:40-45.” Kesalahan besar. Let me give you another example. Revelation chapter 4. In Revelation chapter 4 you have several beings in the heavenly throne room, in the Holy Place of the sanctuary. You have there:

·       One who is seated on the throne, He's never identified in Revelation 4 and 5, simply it says “One is seated on the throne”.

·       And then it speaks about 24 elders who are seated around the throne.

·       And then you have four living creatures that are in the midst of the throne.

And interestingly enough in Revelation 4, even though there is One on the throne and even though there are 24 elders, and four living creatures, the Bible doesn't identify them. They are presented in symbolic terms.

And in chapter 4 the angels are not there and Jesus Christ is not there.

And so immediately you ask, you say, “Well, you know where was Jesus and where were the angels in Revelation 4?” You have the elders singing, you have the four living creatures singing, they're praising the One who is on the throne, but Jesus isn't there, and the angels aren't there. Well, you have to go to chapter 5.

And when you go to chapter 5 you’ll discover that now Jesus arrives, and all of the angels also arrive, and they're singing praise, and honor, and glory, both to the Father and to the Son.

You say,  “Now wait a minute, in chapter 4 there was only One on the throne. Now Jesus joins and there are two.”

Now do you know what's interesting when Ellen White comments on this, she doesn't present the symbols in the last three pages of Desire of Ages. What she does is, she interprets the symbols. You would never know that she's commenting on the 24 elders, that she's commenting on the four living creatures, that she's commenting on the One who was seated on the throne, or that she's even saying anything about the Lamb as though He had been slain if you read the last three pages of Desire of Ages, because you don't find any of those terms: “Lamb as though He had been slain”, you don't find “24 elders”, you don't find “four living creatures”, so you would say, Oh Ellen White is not commenting on that passage. But she is, even though she doesn't quote the verses, even though she doesn't use the language by what you have contained there, it's very clear that she's commenting on Revelation 4 and 5.

 

Saya akan memberikan contoh yang lain. Wahyu pasal 4. Di Wahyu pasal 4, ada beberapa makhluk di ruang takhta surgawi, di bilik Kudus Bait Suci. Di sana ada:

·       Satu yang duduk di atas takhta, Dia tidak pernah diidentifikasi di Wahyu 4 dan 5, semata-mata dikatakan “Satu yang duduk di takhta itu”.

·       Lalu itu bicara tentang 24 tua-tua yang duduk mengelilingi takhta itu.

·       Kemudian ada 4 makhluk hidup yang ada di tengah-tengah takhta.

Dan yang cukup menarik di Wahyu 4 walaupun ada Satu yang di atas takhta, dan walaupun ada 24 tua-tua dan 4 makhluk hidup, Alkitab tidak mengidentifikasi mereka. Mereka disajikan dalam terminologi simbolis.

Dan di pasal 4 para malaikat tidak ada dan Yesus Kristus tidak ada.

Maka kalian segera bertanya, kalian berkata, “Nah, di mana Yesus dan di mana para malaikat di Wahyu pasal 4?”

Di sana ada para tua-tua sedang bernyanyi, keempat makluk hidup sedang bernyanyi, mereka sedang memuji Satu yang duduk di atas takhta, tetapi Yesus tidak ada di sana dan para malaikat tidak ada di sana. Nah, kita harus ke pasal 5.

Dan ketika kita ke pasal 5 kita akan menemukan bahwa sekarang Yesus tiba, dan seluruh malaikat juga sudah tiba dan mereka menyanyikan pujian, dan penghormatan, dan kemuliaan bagi baik Allah Bapa dan juga Allah Anak.

Kalian berkata, “Nah, tunggu dulu, di pasal 4 hanya ada Satu yang di atas takhta. Sekarang Yesus bergabung dan ada dua.”

Nah, tahukah kalian yang menarik ialah ketika Ellen White mengomentari ini, dia tidak menyajikan simbol-simbol di tiga halaman terakhir Desire of Ages. Apa yang dia lakukan ialah dia menerjemahkan simbol-simbol tersebut. Kita tidak akan tahu bahwa Ellen White sedang mengomentari ke 24 tua-tua, bahwa dia mengomentari keempat makhluk hidup, bahwa dia mengomentari Satu yang duduk di takhta, atau bahwa dia sedang mengatakan sesuatu tentang Domba yang seolah-olah telah disembelih, jika kita membaca tiga halaman terakhir dari Desire of Ages, karena kita tidak menemukan istilah-istilah itu: “Domba yang seolah-olah telah disembelih”, kita tidak menemukan “24 tua-tua”, kita tidak menemukan “empat makhluk hidup”, sehingga kita mungkin berkata, Oh, Ellen White tidak mengomentari ayat-ayat itu. Tetapi dia mengomentari, walaupun dia tidak mengutip ayat-ayat itu, walaupun dia tidak memakai bahasa yang terdapat di ayat-ayat itu, sangatlah jelas dia mengomentari Wahyu 4 dan 5.

 

 

Let me tell you how she does it. It's amazing. What she does is, she says that this passage of Scripture is actually describing the Ascension of Jesus to heaven. Revelation 4 is describing the heavenly throne room being prepared to receive Jesus before Jesus has arrived. And do you know what Ellen White says? She says,

·       “present there on the throne is God the Father.” She doesn't merely say “One on the throne”, she says the One on the throne was God the Father.

·       She doesn't speak of 24 elders, she speaks of the representatives of the worlds that never sinned.

·       She doesn't speak about four living creatures, she speaks about cherubim and seraphim, which by the way if you go back to Isaiah 6 you'll find that the seraphim have six wings exactly like the living creatures there in Revelation chapter 4 and Revelation chapter 5. 

·       And then she says that Jesus arrives, where the Father is on the throne, the 24 elders or the representatives of the worlds are there, the cherubim and seraphim are there, and then she says that Jesus arrives and He's accompanied by the angelic host.

·       Now we're in chapter 5, Jesus comes before where the Father is, and interestingly enough Ellen White never calls Jesus “the Lamb as though He had been slain” there in Desire of Ages. Do you know what she says? She says that Jesus enters before the Father and He shows the Father the wounds on His hands, and on His feet, in His side and on His brow. How is Jesus presenting Himself? As what? As a Lamb as though He had been slain. But Ellen White does not use the language “lamb as though he had been slain”.

In other words, she's interpreting the symbols, and unless you're perceptive in your reading, unless you're being guided by God, and you pray for wisdom, you'll never know that Ellen White is commenting on Revelation 4 and 5, because she doesn't quote the verses and she doesn't even mention the symbols. What she does is she in matter-of-fact language interprets the symbols. Are you with me?

·       Ellen White tidak menyebut ke-24 tua-tua, dia bicara tentang wakil-wakil dari dunia-dunia yang tidak pernah berdosa.

·       Ellen White tidak bicara tentang keempat makhluk hidup, dia bicara tentang kerubim dan serafim, yang jika kita mundur ke Yesaya 6 kita akan melihat bahwa serafim punya enam sayap persis seperti makhluk-makhluk hidup di sana di Wahyu 4 dan 5.

·       Dan kemudian Ellen White berkata, lalu Yesus tiba, di tempat di mana Allah Bapa ada di takhta, ke-24 tua-tua atau wakil-wakil dari dunia-dunia ada, kerubim dan serafim ada di sana, dan kemudian dia berkata bahwa Yesus tiba dan Dia diiringi oleh balatentara malaikat.

·       Nah, sekarang kita di pasal 5, Yesus datang ke hadapan Bapa, dan yang cukup menarik di  Desire of Ages  Ellen White tidak pernah menyebut Yesus di sana sebagai  “Domba yang seolah-olah telah disembelih”. Tahukah kalian apa katanya? Dia berkata, bahwa Yesus masuk, pergi ke hadapan Bapa, dan Dia menunjukkan kepada Bapa bekas-bekas luka di tanganNya, di kakiNya, di sisiNya, dan di keningNya. Bagaimana Yesus mempersembahkan DiriNya? Sebagai apa? Sebagai Domba yang seolah-seolah telah disembelih. Tetapi Ellen White tidak memakai bahasa “Domba yang seolah-olah telah disembelih”.

Dengan kata lain Ellen White menerjemahkan simbol-simbol itu, dan kecuali kita mempunyai pemahaman yang tajam bila membaca, kecuali kita dituntun oleh Allah dan kita berdoa minta hikmat, kita tidak pernah tahu bahwa Ellen White sedang mengomentari Wahyu 4 dan 5, karena dia tidak mengutip ayat-ayat itu dan dia bahkan tidak menyinggung simbol-simbolnya. Apa yang dilakukannya ialah dia memakai bahasa sehari-hari menerjemahkan simbol-simbol tersebut. Apakah kalian mengikuti saya?

 

 

Now she does the same thing with the last three Plagues. Great Controversy 635, these are the things that show me that Ellen White was inspired. Do you think that Ellen White sat down to study all of these things the way we did last Sabbath? She's describing it in matter- of-fact language as she saw it in vision. Now notice what she says,  page 635, “When the protection of human laws shall be withdrawn from those who honor the law of God, there will be in different lands a simultaneous movement for their destruction...” When the protection of human laws is removed, she says, there will be a simultaneous plan or movement in different lands for their destruction. And then she says, “…As the time appointed in the decree…” this is the death decree of Revelation 13:15, “…As the time appointed in the decree draws near, the people…” notice the terminology “…the people will conspire to root out the hated sect…”  who is the hated sect? Those who what? Who keep the commandments of God and worship the Creator on His holy day, according to other passages in the book of Revelation.

By the way, if you're intimidated by being called a cult or a sect today, you're sunk. Don't allow yourself to be intimidated by those who say, “Oh you know, we're just mainstream.” We are not mainstream. In the Bible the remnant was never the mainstream. The remnant was always the minority, the small group. Now, doesn't mean that we're supposed to look for the opportunity of looking odd and acting odd, that's not what I'm saying. But the fact is that if we're preaching what we're supposed to be preaching, the world will not love us.  

Now, notice what she continues saying,  “As the time appointed in the decree draws near, the people will conspire to root out the hated sect.  It will be determined to strike in one night a decisive blow, which shall utterly silence the voice of dissent and reprove…” So much for freedom of speech. Listen to this, “…The people of God ~ some in prison cells, some hidden in solitary retreats in the forests and the mountains ~ still plead for divine protection…” just like Israel at the edge of the Red Sea. Listen to this, “…while in every quarter, companies of armed men…” you can almost hear Pharaoh and his armies,  “…companies of armed men urged on by hosts of evil angels, are preparing for the work of death…” can you hear Pharaoh and his army? She doesn't say “Pharaoh and his army” but she speaks about “…companies of armed men urged on by hosts of evil angels, are preparing for the work of death…” and now notice what she says, “…It is now in the hour of utmost extremity, that the God of Israel…” notice how she calls God here “…the God of Israel will interpose for the deliverance of His chosen…”

 

Nah, Ellen White berbuat yang sama dengan ketiga Malapetaka terakhir. Great Controversy hal. 635, hal-hal ini menunjukkan kepada saya bahwa Ellen White diilhami. Apakah kalian berpikir bahwa Ellen White duduk untuk mempelajari semua hal itu sama seperti yang kita lakukan Sabat lalu? Dia menggambarkannya dengan bahasa sehari-hari sebagaimana yang dilihatnya dalam penglihatan. Sekarang simak apa katanya, hal. 635, “…Ketika perlindungan hukum-hukum manusia ditarik dari mereka yang menghormati Hukum Allah, di pelbagai negara akan terjadi gerakan serempak untuk membinasakan mereka…”  Ketika perlindungan hukum-hukum manusia disingkirkan, kata Ellen White, akan ada rencana atau gerakan serempak di pelbagai negara untuk membinasakan mereka. Kemudian Ellen White berkata, “…Ketika waktu yang telah ditetapkan oleh perintah itu…” ini ialah perintah bunuh di Wahyu 13:15,  “…Ketika waktu yang telah ditetapkan oleh perintah itu semakin mendekat, orang-orang…” simak terminologinya, “…orang-orang akan bersekongkol untuk mencabut sampai ke akar-akarnya sekte yang dibenci…”  siapakah sekte yang dibenci? Mereka yang apa? Yang memelihara perintah-perintah Allah dan menyembah Sang Pencipta pada hari kudusNya, menurut ayat-ayat lain di kitab Wahyu.

Nah, jika sekarang kalian merasa terintimidasi disebut sebagai suatu cult atau sekte, kalian sudah kalah. Jangan membiarkan diri kalian terintimidasi oleh mereka yang berkata, “Oh, kalian tahu, kami ini mainstream.” Kita bukan mainstream! (Mainstream = normal, konvensional, mayoritas, dominan).  Di Alkitab umat yang sisa tidak pernah mainstream. Umat yang sisa selalu minoritas, kelompok yang kecil. Nah itu tidak berarti kita mencari-cari kesempatan untuk tampil aneh dan bertindak aneh, bukan itu yang saya katakan. Tetapi faktanya ialah, jika kita menyampaikan pekabaran yang seharusnya kita sampaikan, kita akan dibenci dunia.

Sekarang simak apa kata Ellen White selanjutnya,  “…Ketika waktu yang telah ditetapkan oleh perintah itu semakin mendekat, orang-orang akan bersekongkol untuk mencabut sampai ke akar-akarnya sekte yang dibenci. Akan ditetapkan untuk mengadakan dalam satu malam, suatu serangan yang mematikan, yang akan seluruhnya membungkam suara-suara yang menentang dan yang menegur…” mana yang disebut kebebasan berpendapat? Dengarkan ini, “…Umat Allah ~ beberapa di dalam penjara, beberapa bersembunyi di tempat-tempat terpencil di hutan-hutan dan gunung-gunung ~ masih terus memohon perlindungan Ilahi…”  persis seperti bangsa Israel di tepi Laut Merah. Dengarkan ini, “…sementara di setiap tempat kelompok orang-orang yang bersenjata…”  kita nyaris bisa mendengar suara Firaun dan tentaranya, “…kelompok orang-orang yang bersenjata, atas dorongan balatentara malaikat-malaikat jahat, sedang bersiap-siap untuk melakukan pekerjaan pembunuhan…”  bisakah kalian mendengar Firaun dan tentaranya? Ellen White tidak mengatakan “Firaun dan tentaranya” tetapi dia bicara tentang, “…kelompok orang-orang yang bersenjata, atas dorongan balatentara malaikat-malaikat jahat, sedang bersiap-siap untuk melakukan pekerjaan pembunuhan…” dan sekarang simak apa katanya, “…Sekarang inilah, di saat yang paling ekstrem, Allah Israel…”  simak bagaimana dia menyebut Allah di sini,   “…Allah Israel akan turut campur demi penyelamatan umat pilihanNya.”

 

 

Now listen to this, this is at the bottom of page 635, “…With shouts of triumph, jeering, and imprecation, throngs of evil men are about to rush upon their prey…”   what's about to happen? She says here that  “…throngs of evil men are about to…” what? “…to rush upon their prey…” let me ask you, what is it that rushes?

Go with me to Isaiah chapter 17 so you see that this is not only me surmising, it says in Isaiah 17:12-13 something very interesting about the waters, what the waters symbolized, it says there, “¹² Woe to the multitude of many people who make a noise like the roar of…” what?  “…of the seas, and to the…” what?  “…to the rushing of nations that make a…” what?  “…a  rushing like the rushing of mighty waters! ¹³ The nations will rush like the rushing of many waters…” I think the Lord wants us to know the waters rush, but what is God going to do with the waters? “…but God will…” what?  “…will rebuke them and they will flee far away…” not literal waters, but what? Multitudes, and nations,  “…and be chased like the chaff of the mountains before the wind, like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.”

So what is Ellen White saying? That the wicked are about to rush upon God's people. What are they compared to? Waters. What is the name of the waters? The Euphrates river upon which the Harlot sits, she controls and dominates the nations of the world, the kings do what she says.  And she says they're about to rush upon God's people. Now notice,  “…With shouts of triumph, jeering, and imprecation, throngs of evil men are about to rush upon their prey…”   listen to this, “…when lo a dense blackness, deeper than the darkness of the night falls upon the earth…” which Plague is that? That's number five, plague number five was a plague of darkness, right? So what happens to the wicked? What falls upon them? Darkness. How about God's people? Let's continue reading, “…Then a rainbow, shining with the glory from the throne of God spans the heavens and seems to encircle each praying company…” Darkness upon the wicked and upon God's people what? Light. Is that what we noticed at the edge of the Red Sea? Absolutely! This is the Fifth Plague. But now notice she's going to comment on the Sixth Plague, but she's not going to quote the verses, so unless you know the sequence of the Plagues, and you know the contents of the Plagues, you'll never know that she's commenting on the Plagues here. Now notice what she says, “…The angry multitudes…” the what? What do the waters represent? Multitudes, nations, tongues, and peoples. Notice what she says, “…The angry multitudes are suddenly arrested…” what would that be equivalent to? The waters are about to rush but they're arrested, what does that mean? They're stopped, they dry up. And so she says, “…The angry multitudes are suddenly arrested. Their mocking cries die away. The objects of their murderous rage are forgotten…” Question: did the Egyptians forget who they were coming against when their chariot wheels started falling off, and they started seeing the waters that had dried up now avalanche themselves upon them? Absolutely! And so she says, “…The angry multitudes are suddenly arrested. Their mocking cries die away. The objects of their murderous rage are forgotten.  With fearful forebodings they gaze upon the symbol of God's covenant and long to be shielded from its overpowering brightness.”

 

Sekarang dengarkan ini, ini bagian bawah hal. 635, “…Dengan pekik kemenangan, olok-olok dan makian-makian, gelombang orang-orang jahat siap menggulung mangsa mereka…”  apa yang akan terjadi? Ellen White di sini berkata,  “…gelombang orang-orang jahat siap…”  apa?   “…menggulung mangsa mereka…”  Coba saya tanya, apa yang menggulung?

Marilah bersama saya ke Yesaya pasal 17 supaya kalian bisa melihat ini bukan semata-mata saya yang mengambil kesimpulan. Dikatakan di Yesaya 17:12-13 sesuatu yang sangat menarik tentang air-air, apa yang disimbolkan oleh air-air. Dikatakan di sana, ^“12 Celaka bagi banyak bangsa yang membuat ribut seperti gemuruh…”  apa?   “…lautan, dan bagi…”  apa?   “…serbuan bangsa-bangsa yang membuat…”  apa?   “…gejolak seperti gelora air yang hebat! ¹³ Bangsa-bangsa akan menyerbu seperti gelora lautan besar…”  saya rasa Tuhan mau kita tahu bahwa air-air itu menyerang, tetapi apa yang akan dilakukan Allah dengan air-air itu?   “…tetapi Tuhan akan…”  apa?   “…akan menghardik mereka dan mereka akan lari jauh-jauh…”  bukan air literal tetapi apa? Orang banyak, bangsa-bangsa, “…dan akan dihalau seperti sekam dari gunung yang diterbangkan angin, seperti benda menggelinding di hadapan angin puting beliung.”

Jadi Ellen White berkata apa? Bahwa orang-orang jahat sudah siap menggulung umat Allah. Mereka dibandingkan apa? Air-air. Apa nama air-air itu? Sungai Efrat di atas mana perempuan Pelacur itu duduk, dia yang mengendalikan dan memerintah bangsa-bangsa dunia, raja-raja melakukan perintahnya. Dan Ellen White berkata mereka siap untuk menggulung umat Allah. Sekarang simak, “…Dengan pekik kemenangan, olok-olok dan makian-makian, gelombang orang-orang jahat siap menggulung mangsa mereka…”  dengarkan ini,   “…ketika, lihat, suatu kegelapan pekat yang lebih dalam daripada kegelapan malam, jatuh ke atas bumi…”  Malapetaka yang mana itu? Itu nomor 5, Malapetaka Kelima itu malapetaka kegelapan, benar? Jadi apa yang terjadi pada orang-orag jahat? Apa yang jatuh ke atas mereka? Kegelapan. Bagaimana dengan umat Allah? Mari kita lanjutkan baca,   “…Lalu sebuah pelangi yang bersinar dengan kemuliaan dari takhta Allah, membentang di langit dan sepertinya mengelilingi setiap kelompok yang sedang berdoa. …”  Kegelapan bagi orang-orang jahat dan bagi umat Allah apa? Terang. Itukah yang kita lihat di tepi Laut Merah? Betul sekali! Inilah Malapetaka Kelima. Tetapi sekarang simak, Ellen White akan mengomentari Malapetaka Keenam, tetapi dia tidak akan mengutip ayatnya. Maka kecuali kalian tahu  urut-urutan malapetaka-malapetaka itu, dan kalian tahu konten malapetaka-malapetaka itu, kalian tidak akan pernah tahu bahwa di sini Ellen White mengomentari malapetaka-malapetaka. Sekarang simak apa katanya, “…Orang banyak yang marah…”  apa? Air-air itu melambangkan apa? Orang banyak, bangsa-bangsa, bahasa-bahasa, dan kaum-kaum. Simak apa katanya,   “…Orang banyak yang marah tiba-tiba terhenti. …”  kira-kira ini ekuivalennya apa? Air-air itu akan segera menggulung, tetapi mereka terhenti, apa artinya? Mereka dihentikan, mereka mengering. Maka Ellen White berkata, “…Orang banyak yang marah tiba-tiba terhenti. Teriakan olok-olok mereka mereda, sasaran kemarahan mereka yang tadi ingin mereka bunuh, terlupakan…”  Pertanyaan: Apakah orang-orang Mesir melupakan siapa yang seharusnya mereka serang ketika roda-roda kereta mereka mulai lepas dan mereka mulai melihat air-air yang telah mengering sekarang longsor menjatuhkan dirinya ke atas mereka? Betul sekali! Maka Ellen White berkata,   “…Orang banyak yang marah tiba-tiba terhenti. Teriakan olok-olok mereka mereda, sasaran kemarahan mereka yang tadi ingin mereka bunuh, terlupakan. Dengan firasat buruk mereka memandang simbol perjanjian Allah dengan ketakutan, dan mereka ingin dilindungi dari cahayanya yang melumpuhkan.”

 

 

Now in the next chapter  ~  this chapter is “God's People Delivered” ~  the next chapter “The Desolation of the Earth”,  Ellen White amplifies this moment when the multitudes are arrested. You see, they're not only going to be arrested, they're not only going to dry up, they're going to avalanche themselves against this evil system. Listen to what she has to say. This is Great Controversy page 655-656, listen, “The people see that they have been deluded…” what do the wicked see?  “…that they have been…” what?  “…deluded…”  what does “deluded” mean? Deceived.  Now listen to this, before this who did they want to slay? Who did the waters want to drown? God's people. Who did the waters eventually end up drowning? The enemies of God's people. Listen, “…The people see that they have been deluded.  They accuse one another of having led them to destruction; but all unite in heaping their bitterest condemnation upon the ministers…” that's talking about the system, right?  The Harlot represents the system, the Beast represents the apostate religious system, the false prophet represents an apostate religious system, that teaches people that the Law was nailed to the cross; that Jesus kept it so that we don't have to keep it; that the Law was for the Jews; the Sabbath was for the Jews, Christians don't have to worry about that; and that the dead aren’t really dead, and that the spirits of demons that are appearing are really departed relatives; and other  things. They deceive their peoples. And unfortunately you know it's fermented wine. How many of you have ever tried to give a Bible study to a drunk? It's almost a hopeless task. That's the reason why when sometimes you know you present the truth in all its beauty and all its power, people say, “I don't get it. I don't see why. Yeah, okay the Bible says that we're supposed to keep the Sabbath, but who cares? As long as you give one day to the Lord.” They just don't understand that it's a matter of loyalty to God, and doing it as God says.  The only way they can receive the truth is by sobering up, but they're so deluded with the false teachings of Babylon that they can't think straight, they can't see straight, because they don't study their Bibles for themselves, they swallow what their ministers teach them. And woe to me, I'm a minister too. That's the reason I say some things here that probably  are not the most popular in the world. But you know I'm more interested in pleasing God than in pleasing you, because ultimately you're not going to judge me, God is going to judge me.  Now listen up,  “…The people see that they have been deluded.  They accuse one another of having led them to destruction; but all unite in heaping their bitterest condemnation upon the ministers. Unfaithful pastors have prophesied smooth things; they have led their hearers to make void the law of God and to persecute those who would keep it holy. Now, in their despair, these teachers confess before the world their work of deception. The multitudes…” same as waters, right?  “…The multitudes are filled with fury…”  who are they furious against, right before? God's people. Who are they furious with now, the waters? Oh, they're going to dry up on these religious leaders, and they're going to turn on them. By the way, you're going to have another world-wide French Revolution. Do you know that the French Revolution was simply a local small-scale illustration of what's going to happen with the whole world at the end of time? The royalty in France lived in sumptuous luxury while the people were starving to death, and while the religious leaders were living in luxury. When the time of the French Revolution came and the people said, we're not going to put up with this anymore, and it was a reaction of the proletariat against the political leaders and against the religious leaders. And if you haven't read the chapter in Great Controversy “The Bible and French Revolution” you’d better sit down and read that chapter. Blood flowed freely in the streets of France, thousands lost their heads, and I'm talking literally lost their heads. There was no law, there was no order. In fact Ellen White says that Satan was allowed, once in human history, like also in the destruction of Jerusalem, and Sodom and Gomorrah, some very few examples in history, God stepped back, He said to France, “Okay, you've chosen Satan as your leader, I step back.” Folks, we’d better be sheltered by God during this period. We’d better make a covenant with the Lord now while we can. She continued saying, “…The multitudes are filled with fury. ‘We are lost!’ They cry, ‘and you are the cause of our ruin’, and they turn upon the false shepherds…” see there's the water drowning them,  “…The very ones that once admired them most will pronounce the most dreadful curses upon them. The very hands that once crowned them with laurels will be raised for their destruction. The swords which were to slay God's people, are now employed to destroy their enemies..”  are you understanding what's happening here, the Red Sea experience? “…Everywhere…” she says,  “…there is strife and bloodshed.”

Are you understanding how she's commenting on the Fifth and Sixth Plagues? Very clearly she doesn't use the language, but she's commenting on plague number 5 and 6.

 

Nah, di bab berikut ~ yang di atas adalah bab “God’s People Delivered” (Umat Allah Diselamatkan) ~ di bab berikut “The Desolation of the Earth” (Bumi yang Ditelantarkan), Ellen White memperluas momen ini ketika orang banyak dihentikan. Kalian lihat, mereka bukan hanya akan dihentikan, mereka bukan hanya akan dikeringkan, mereka akan melongsorkan diri mereka ke atas sistem yang jahat ini. Dengarkan apa yang dikatakan Ellen White tentang ini. Ini di Great Controversy hal 655-656, dengarkan, “…Orang-orang itu melihat bahwa mereka telah tertipu…”  apa yang dilihat orang-orang jahat?   “…bahwa mereka telah…”  apa?   “…tertipu…”  apa maksudnya “tertipu”? Dibohongi. Nah, dengarkan ini. Sebelum kejadian ini siapa yang mau mereka bunuh? Siapa yang mau ditenggelamkan air-air itu? Umat Allah. Siapa yang akhirnya ditenggelamkan oleh air-air itu? Musuh-musuh umat Allah. Dengarkan,  “…Orang-orang itu melihat bahwa mereka telah tertipu. Mereka menuduh satu sama lain telah membawa mereka ke kebinasaan; tetapi semua bersatu menjatuhkan kutukan mereka yang paling getir kepada para hamba Tuhan…”  ini bicara tentang sistem tersebut, benar? Perempuan Pelacur itu melambangkan sistem itu, Binatang itu melambangkan sistem agama yang murtad, nabi palsu melambangkan sistem agama yang murtad, yang mengajarkan kepada manusia bahwa Hukum Allah telah dipakukan ke salib; bahwa Yesus sudah memeliharanya sehingga manusia tidak usah memeliharanya; bahwa Hukum itu buat orang Yahudi; Sabat itu buat orang Yahudi orang Kristen tidak usah bingung dengan itu; dan bahwa orang mati tidak sungguh-sungguh mati dan bahwa roh-roh iblis yang menampakkan diri sesungguhnya adalah kerabat-kerabat yang sudah mati; dan hal-hal lain. Mereka menipu manusia. Dan sangat disayangkan kalian tahu itulah anggur yang difermentasi. Berapa orang dari kalian pernah memberikan pelajaran Alkitab kepada orang yang mabuk? Itu tugas yang nyaris sia-sia. Alasannya mengapa ketika terkadang kita menyampaikan kebenaran dalam seluruh keindahannya dan kuasanya, orang berkata, “Saya tidak paham. Saya tidak mengerti mengapa harus begitu. Iya, oke, Alkitab berkata kita seharusnya memelihara Sabat, tetapi siapa yang peduli? Selama kita memberikan satu hari kepada Tuhan.” Mereka semata-mata tidak mengerti bahwa itu urusan loyalitas kepada Allah dan melakukannya seperti yang dikatakan Allah. Satu-satunya cara mereka bisa menerima kebenaran ialah dengan sadar dari mabuknya, tetapi mereka sudah sedemikian tertipunya dengan ajaran-ajaran palsu Babilon sehingga mereka tidak bisa berpikir jernih, mereka tidak bisa melihat dengan jelas, karena mereka tidak mempelajari Alkitab untuk diri sendiri, mereka menelan saja apa yang diajarkan pendeta-pendeta mereka. Dan celakalah saya, saya juga seorang pendeta. Itulah sebabnya saya mengatakan di sini beberapa hal yang mungkin bukan yang paling populer di dunia. Tetapi kalian tahu, bagi saya lebih penting menyenangkan Allah daripada menyenangkan kalian, karena pada akhirnya kalian tidak akan menghakimi saya, Allah yang akan menghakimi saya. Sekarang dengarkan,  “…Orang-orang itu melihat bahwa mereka telah tertipu. Mereka menuduh satu sama lain telah membawa mereka ke kebinasaan; tetapi semua bersatu menjatuhkan kutukan mereka yang paling getir kepada para hamba Tuhan. Hamba-hamba Tuhan yang tidak setia telah meramalkan hal yang baik-baik; mereka telah menggiring pendengar-pendengar mereka untuk mengabaikan Hukum Allah dan menganiaya orang-orang yang mau memelihara kekudusannya. Sekarang, dalam keputusasaan mereka, guru-guru ini mengakui penipuan mereka di hadapan seluruh dunia. Orang banyak itu…”  sama dengan air-air, benar?   “…Orang banyak itu dipenuhi oleh angkara murka…”  mereka murka terhadap siapa tepat sebelum itu? Umat Allah. Mereka sekarang murka terhadap siapa, air-air tersebut? Oh, mereka akan mengering bagi para pemuka agama ini, dan mereka akan berbalik melawan mereka. Nah, kita akan mengalami lagi Revolusi Perancis yang mendunia. Tahukah kalian bahwa Revolusi Perancis semata-mata adalah suatu ilustrasi kecil dalam skala lokal dari apa yang akan terjadi di seluruh dunia pada akhir masa? Para bangsawan di Perancis hidup bergelimang kemewahan sementara rakyat mati kelaparan, dan sementara para pemuka agama juga hidup dalam kemewahan. Ketika tiba waktunya Revolusi Perancis dan rakyat berkata, kami tidak akan membiarkan ini lebih lama lagi, dan itu adalah reaksi kelompok rakyat jelata terhadap para pemimpin politik dan para pemuka agama. Dan jika kalian belum membaca bab di Great Controversy “The Bible and French Revolution” (Alkitab dan Revolusi Perancis) sebaiknya kalian duduk dan membaca bab itu. Darah mengalir tak terbendung di jalan-jalan Perancis, ribuan kehilangan kepala mereka dan saya bicara betul-betul kehilangan kepala mereka secara literal. Tidak ada hukum, tidak ada ketertiban. Ellen White berkata bahwa Setan diizinkan, sekali dalam sejarah manusia, juga seperti saat penghancuran Yerusalem, dan Sodom Gomora, sangat sedikit contohnya di sejarah, di mana Allah mundur dan Dia berkata kepada Perancis, “Oke, kamu sudah memilih Setan sebagai pemimpinmu, Aku mundur.” Saudara-saudara, sebaiknya kita terlindung oleh Allah selama periode itu. Sebaiknya kita membuat suatu perjanjian dengan Tuhan sekarang selagi kita masih bisa. Ellen White melanjutkan berkata,   “…Orang banyak itu dipenuhi oleh angkara murka ‘Kami binasa!’ teriak mereka, ‘dan kalianlah penyebab kebinasaan kami’, dan mereka berbalik pada gembala-gembala yang palsu itu…”  Lihat, air-air itu sedang menenggelamkan mereka.   “…Orang-orang yang sama yang pernah paling memuji mereka, akan menyuarakan kutukan yang paling mengerikan kepada mereka.  Tangan-tangan yang sama yang pernah memahkotai mereka dengan bunga kehormatan akan diangkat untuk membinasakan mereka. Pedang yang akan dipakai membunuh umat Allah sekarang dipakai untuk membunuh musuh-musuh mereka…”  apakah kalian paham apa yang terjadi di sini, pengalaman Laut Merah?   “…Di mana-mana…”  kata Ellen White,   “…terjadi perkelahian dan pertumpahan darah.”

Apakah kalian sekarang mengerti bagaimana Ellen White mengomentari Malapetaka Kelima dan Keenam? Sangat jelas, dia tidak memakai bahasanya, tetapi dia mengomentari Malapetaka Kelima dan Keenam.

 

 

And by the way, now I'm going to prove it to you, because Ellen White does quote the verses to the Seventh Plague. Page 637 of Great Controversy, after describing what we just read Ellen White says this, “In the midst of the angry heavens is one clear space of indescribable glory, whence comes the voice of God like the sound of many waters, saying ‘It is done.’….”  which Plague is that? Number 7. Notice what she continues saying, remember thunder, lightning, earthquakes, islands disappearing, mountains disappearing? Listen to what she has to say, “…That voice shakes the heavens and the earth…” we have the global earthquake. “…There is a mighty earthquake…” and now she quotes the Seventh Plague verses 17 and 18 of Revelation 16,  “…’such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake and so great.’ The firmament appears to open and shut. The glory from the throne of God seems flashing through. The mountains shake like a reed in the wind, and ragged rocks are scattered on every side. There is a roar as of a coming tempest. The sea is lashed into fury. There is heard the shriek of a hurricane like the voice of demons upon a mission of destruction. The whole earth heaves and swells like the waves of the sea. Its surface is breaking up. Its very foundations seem to be giving way. Mountain chains are sinking. Inhabited islands disappear….”  that's the language from the Seventh Plague  by the way. “…The seaports that have become like Sodom for wickedness are swallowed up by the angry waters. ‘Babylon the great has come in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine…”   now she's quoting Revelation 16 again verse 19 she says, “…Babylon the great has come in remembrance before God, ‘to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.’ Great hailstones, every one ‘about the weight of a talent,’ are doing their work of destruction…”  you know it's Revelation 16:21 that mentions the hail about the size of a talent. In other words if you see Ellen White quoting on the Seventh Plague where would you expect her to find her comments on the Sixth and the Fifth Plague? Will you go immediately before? See, sometimes we have to work by deduction rather than by induction, and if you do that, you'll find that Ellen White has much to say about many passages of Scripture that people assume that she had nothing to say about.

 

Dan, sekarang saya akan membuktikan kepada kalian karena Ellen White mengutip ayat-ayat Malapetaka Ketujuh. Hal. 637 Great Controversy, setelah menggambarkan apa yang baru kita baca, Ellen White mengatakan ini,  “…Di tengah-tengah langit yang murka ada satu tempat yang terang, dengan kemuliaan yang tidak terlukiskan, dari sana datang suara Allah seperti suara banyak air, berkata, ‘Sudah selesai’ (Wahyu 16:17)…”  Malapetaka yang mana itu? Yang Ketujuh. Simak apa yang dikatakannya selanjutnya, ingat guntur, kilat, gempa bumi, pulau-pulau lenyap, gunung-gunung hilang? Dengarkan apa yang dikatakannya, “…Suara itu mengguncang langit dan bumi…”  ini gempa bumi globalnya.    “…Sebuah gempa bumi akbar …”  dan sekarang Ellen White mengutip Malapetaka Ketujuh ayat 17 dan 18 Wahyu 16,   “…‘seperti yang belum pernah ada sejak manusia hidup di bumi, terjadi, sedemikian hebatnya gempa bumi itu dan sedemikian besar.’ Cakrawala sepertinya membuka dan menutup. Sinar kemuliaan dari takhta Allah seolah-olah melesat seperti kilat. Gunung-gunung berguncang seperti sebatang buluh ditiup angin, dan batu-batu tajam terserak di mana-mana. Ada suara gemuruh seolah-olah akan datang badai. Laut berkecamuk dalam amarahnya Terdengar jeritan angin topan seperti suara iblis-iblis yang sedang menjalankan misi penghancuran. Seluruh bumi berguncang dan menggembung seperti ombak-ombak di laut. Permukaannya pecah meretak. Fondasinya sepertinya akan hancur. Rantai-rantai pegunungan tenggelam. Pulau-pulau yang berpenduduk lenyap…”  itulah bahasa dari Malapetaka Ketujuh.  “…Kota-kota pelabuhan yang telah menjadi seperti Sodom  dalam kejahatannya, ditelan oleh air-air yang murka. ‘Babilon yang besar telah muncul dalam ingatan di hadapan Allah untuk memberikan kepadanya cawan anggur…”  sekarang dia mengutip Wahyu 16 lagi ayat 19, katanya, “…‘Babilon yang besar telah muncul dalam ingatan di hadapan Allah untuk memberikan kepadanya cawan anggur  kegeraman murkaNya.’ Batu-batu es besar masing-masing ‘beratnya sekitar satu talen’ melakukan pekerjaan penghancuran mereka.…”  Kalian tahu itu Wahyu 16:21 yang menyebutkan batu es yang ukurannya sekitar satu talen. Dengan kata lain, jika kita melihat Ellen White mengutip Malapetaka Ketujuh, di mana kita berharap menemukan komentarnya tentang Malapetaka Keenam dan Kelima? Apakah kita akan ke bagian yang ada sebelumnya? Lihat, terkadang kita harus bekerja dengan cara deduksi dan bukan induksi. Dan jika kita melakukan itu, kita akan mendapati Ellen White mengatakan banyak hal tentang banyak ayat Kitab Suci, yang dianggap orang dia tidak berkata apa-apa. 

 

 

And then let me ask you, what are God's people going to sing as the song of their deliverance?

Revelation 15. This is where I got the idea to study into this. Revelation 15:2-4. It says, “² And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the Beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name…” is this the main issue at the end of time? The Beast, his image, his mark, and the number of his name? Is that what it's all about? So who is Babylon? Babylon is the Beast and his image. And they impose the mark and the number. Now if you don't know a lot about this, it’s because you haven't been coming to the Three Angels series. And it continues saying,  that they are  “…standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God. ³ They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,…” you know, and I used to wonder, I said, what does Moses have to do with the final  deliverance?  I mean Moses, yeah, he's in Heaven, that's true, because he died and resurrected according to the Bible. What does he have to do with the final deliverance? Do you know why God puts here “they sing the song of Moses and the Lamb” it’s because God is saying, “Hint, hint, if you want to understand the final deliverance by the Lamb go back and study the message of Moses, go study the Old Testament story, if you want to understand what's going to happen at the end of time.”  And so it says in verse 3,  “…They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, ‘Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints!...” who are they giving honor and glory to? To God. “…⁴ Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, for Your judgments have been manifested.’…”

 

Kemudian coba saya tanya, apa yang akan dinyanyikan umat Allah sebagai lagu penyelamatan mereka?

Wahyu 15, inilah yang membuat saya mendapat ide untuk mempelajari ini. Wahyu 15:2-4, mengatakan, “² Dan aku melihat sesuatu bagaikan lautan kaca bercampur api, dan mereka yang telah mengalahkan Binatang itu, dan patungnya, dan tandanya, dan bilangan namanya…”  inikah isu intinya pada akhir masa? Binatang itu, patungnya, tandanya, dan bilangan namanya? Inikah yang menjadi masalah? Jadi siapakah Babilon? Babilon adalah Binatang itu dan patungnya. Dan mereka memaksakan tandanya dan bilangannya. Nah, jika kalian kurang tahu banyak tentang ini, itu karena kalian tidak hadir di seri Pekabaran Tiga Malaikat. Dan selanjutnya dikatakan, mereka “…berdiri di atas laut kaca, pada mereka ada kecapi Allah. ³ Dan mereka menyanyikan nyanyian Musa, hamba Allah, dan nyanyian  Anak Domba, bunyinya…”  tahukah kalian, dulu saya bertanya-tanya apa hubungannya Musa dengan penyelamatan terakhir? Maksud saya, memang benar Musa ada di Surga, karena menurut Alkitab dia sudah mati dan dibangkitkan. Dia punya hubungan apa dengan penyelamatan terakhir? Tahukah kalian mengapa Allah memasukkan di sini  “mereka menyanyikan nyanyian Musa,  hamba Allah, dan nyanyian  Anak Domba”?  Karena Allah berkata, “Ini petunjuk, ini petunjuk, jika kamu mau mengerti penyelamatan terakhir oleh Anak Domba, mundurlah ke belakang dan pelajarilah pekabaran Musa, pelajarilah kisah di Perjanjian Lama, jika kamu mau mengerti apa yang akan terjadi pada akhir masa.” Maka di ayat 3 dikatakan, “…³ Dan mereka menyanyikan nyanyian Musa, hamba Allah, dan nyanyian Anak Domba, bunyinya, ‘Besar dan ajaib segala pekerjaan-Mu, ya Tuhan, Allah, Yang Mahakuasa! Adil dan benar segala jalan-Mu, ya Raja semua orang saleh!…” kepada siapa mereka memberikan penghormatan dan kemuliaan? Kepada Allah. “…⁴ Siapakah yang tidak takut pada-Mu, ya Tuhan, dan yang tidak memuliakan nama-Mu? Sebab Engkau saja yang kudus; karena semua bangsa akan datang dan sujud menyembah Engkau, sebab telah nyata kebenaran segala penghakiman-Mu.’…"

 

 

Now before I bring this to a close, there's a question that I want to ask, and that is what determines which side you are on in this final conflict. You know, I've read literally dozens of books on the Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Plagues, most of them evangelical books, most of them non-Adventist books that have a totally erroneous view of end-time prophecy. They're looking to the Middle East, whereas prophecy says look at Rome! And look at the United States! You know that's where prophecy is going to be fulfilled. Most everybody has their eyes over in the Middle East. I don't know why they even have their eyes over there, because they say that what happens over there is going to happen after they're raptured to heaven. So it's a moot point. In fact they say that Revelation 4 through Revelation 19 is fulfilled after the church is raptured to heaven. Now that has huge implications, because if it's true that Revelation 4 through Revelation 19 is after all of us are in heaven, then why even have a series on the Three Angels’ Messages there in Revelation 14? You see, what the Devil wants to do, he wants to convince Christians that these things are not  important, that the Three Angels’ Messages are for the Jews, in the midst of the tribulation, because he knows that these messages will determine where we are in the end-time crisis, what will determine which side you're on.

 

Nah, sebelum saya akhiri, ada pertanyaan yang mau saya tanyakan, dan itu ialah, apa yang menentukan di pihak mana kita berada dalam konflik terakhir ini. Kalian tahu, saya sudah membaca berlusin-lusin buku, ini literal, tentang Malapetaka Kelima, Keenam dan Ketujuh, kebanyakan buku-buku Evangelis, kebanyakan mereka bukan buku-buku Advent, yang memiliki pandangan yang sama sekali salah tentang nubuatan akhir masa. Mereka memandang ke Timur Tengah. Padahal nubuatan berkata, lihatlah ke Roma! Dan lihatlah ke Amerika Serikat! Kalian tahu, karena di sanalah nubuatan itu akan digenapi. Kebanyakan orang memasang mata mereka di Timur Tengah. Saya tidak mengerti mengapa mereka memasang mata mereka di sana karena mereka berkata apa yang terjadi di sana itu akan terjadi setelah mereka diangkat ke Surga. Jadi itu poin yang tidak relevan lagi. Bahkan mereka berkata bahwa Wahyu 4 hingga 19 itu digenapi setelah gereja sudah diangkat ke Surga. Nah, ini punya implikasi yang besar karena seandainya benar Wahyu 4 hingga 19 itu sesudah kita semua ada di Surga, lalu mengapa harus ada seri tentang Pekabaran Tiga Malaikat di Wahyu 14? Kalian lihat, apa yang mau dibuat Iblis, dia mau meyakinkan orang-orang Kristen bahwa hal-hal ini tidak penting, bahwa Pekabaran Tiga Malaikat itu untuk orang Yahudi di tengah-tengah masa kesukaran besar, karena Iblis tahu bahwa pesan-pesan itu akan menentukan di mana posisi kita di krisis akhir masa, ini yang akan menentukan di pihak mana kita berada.

 

 

You know in all of these books that I've read there's one verse that kind of gets lost in the message on the Battle of Armageddon. Revelation 16:15 here's where the issue is.  Jesus says, “^{15 ‘}Behold, I am coming as a thief…” by the way, how many stages does the coming of the thief has? Two. One stage is when the thief comes at night, and you're sleeping, he came and you didn't know it. The second stage is when you wake up and you realize that he came.  So also will be the coming of the Son of Man.  You see the door of probation is going to close and the world is not going to notice.  When will they find out? When Jesus comes on the clouds of heaven. But then it will be too late. So Jesus says here, this is Jesus speaking, “…^‘Behold, I am coming as a thief.  Blessed is he who watches…” that means to be wide-awake, sober, seeing what's happening, putting your life in order, studying the Word, praying, contemplating Jesus, investing your resources in God's cause, being occupied while we wait.  “…Blessed is he who watches and keeps his…” what?  “…his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.’…” Who are those who will be saved? Those who are wearing what? The garment.

Whose garment? The garment of Jesus, which represents being justified by Jesus, and being sanctified by Jesus. It's His robe of justification and sanctification. He does all of the work. we don't do it. It's not like justification is Him and sanctification is us. No! He justifies and He sanctifies. The honor and the glory belong to Him. His robe is justification and sanctification together. Those who have this experience will not walk naked, and their shame will not be seen.

 

Kalian tahu dalam semua buku yang telah saya baca itu, ada satu ayat yang sepertinya ketlisut dalam pekabaran Perang Harmagedon. Wahyu 16:15, inilah isunya. Yesus berkata, “¹⁵ Lihatlah, Aku datang seperti pencuri…”  nah, memangnya ada berapa tahap kedatangan seperti pencuri ini? Dua. Tahap satu ialah ketika pencuri itu datang di malam hari, dan kita sedang tidur, dia datang dan kita tidak tahu. Tahap kedua ialah ketika kita bangun dan menyadari pencuri telah datang. Demikian pulalah kedatangan Anak Manusia. Kalian lihat, pintu kasihan akan menutup dan dunia tidak akan tahu. Kapan mereka baru tahu? Ketika Yesus datang di awan-awan di langit. Tetapi waktu itu sudah terlambat. Jadi di sini Yesus berkata, ini Yesus yang berbicara,   “…¹⁵     Lihatlah, Aku datang seperti pencuri. Diberkatilah dia yang berjaga-jaga…” itu artinya mata tetap terbuka lebar, dalam kondisi sadar, mengamati apa yang sedang terjadi, membereskan hidup, belajar Firman, berdoa, merenungkan Yesus, menginvestasikan sumber daya kita dalam pekerjaan Allah, melakukan pekerjaan sementara kita menunggu.  “…Diberkatilah dia yang berjaga-jaga dan yang mempertahankan…”  apa?  “…pakaiannya, kalau tidak, ia harus berjalan  dengan telanjang dan mereka melihat aibnya.’…” Siapakah mereka yang akan diselamatkan? Mereka yang mengenakan apa? Pakaian.

Pakaian siapa? Pakaian Yesus, yang melambangkan dibenarkan oleh Yesus, dan dikuduskan oleh Yesus. Itulah jubah pembenaran dan pengudusan. Yesus yang mengerjakan semuanya, bukan kita. Bukan pembenaran itu oleh Yesus dan pengudusan itu oleh kita. Tidak! Yesus yang membenarkan dan Dia yang menguduskan. Kehormatan dan kemuliaan adalah milikNya. JubahNya ialah pembenaran dan pengudusan bersama-sama. Mereka yang memiliki pengalaman ini tidak akan berjalan dalam keadaan telanjang, dan aib mereka tidak akan tampak.

 

 

The question is what are you wearing today? Are you wearing the robes of your own righteousness? Are you saying, “Well, somehow I'll make it there. God knows that the flesh is weak, the Devil is strong, the world is powerful. He knows that we can’t overcome sin.” Or are we every day struggling with sin, frustrated with ourselves, crying out to the Lord, “Lord, forgive me and give me victory over sin, cover me with the righteousness of Your beloved Son, with His imputed righteousness and with His imparted righteousness”?

I pray to God that we will get serious of the Lord and that we will dedicate time to growing in Christ, growing in grace, and in the knowledge of our Savior.

 

Pertanyaannya ialah, apa yang kita kenakan hari ini? Apakah kita memakai jubah kebenaran kita sendiri? Apakah kita berkata, “Nah, entah bagaimana saya akan sampai ke sana. Allah tahu daging itu lemah, Iblis itu kuat, dunia itu berkuasa. Dia tahu kita tidak bisa mengalahkan dosa.” Atau apakah setiap hari kita bergumul dengan dosa, frustrasi dengan diri kita sendiri, berteriak kepada Tuhan, “Tuhan, ampuni aku dan berilah padaku kemenangan atas dosa. Tutupi aku dengan kebenaran AnakMu yang terkasih, dengan kebenaranNya yang diperhitungkan padaku dan dengan kebenaranNya yang dibagikanNya padaku.”?

Saya mohon kepada Allah agar kita bersungguh-sungguh dengan Tuhan dan kita akan mendedikasikan waktu untuk bertumbuh dalam Kristus, bertumbuh dalam kasih, dan dalam pengetahuan tentang Juruselamat kita.
