Now we have been studying the church of Thyatira and we've dedicated most of our time to studying about that Harlot Jezebel, and we’ve noticed that the Jezebel, the literal Jezebel of the Old Testament represents an apostate system of religion that appeared during the fourth period of the Christian church.

And so what we wanted to do in part 2 is to compare the Old Testament literal Jezebel, with this system of apostate religion that ruled during the 1260 years. And for this we are going to look at 1 and 2 Kings and we are going to look at Revelation chapter 2 where the message to Thyatira is found.

 

Nah, kita sudah mempelajari gereja Tiatira, dan kita sudah mendedikasikan sebagian besar waktu kita mempelajari perempuan Pelacur Izebel itu, dan kita sudah melihat bahwa Izebel, Izebel yang literal dari Perjanjian Lama, melambangkan suatu sistem yang murtad yang muncul di periode keempat gereja Kristen.

Maka apa yang akan kita lakukan di bagian 2 ini ialah membandingkan Izebel literal Perjanjian Lama dengan sistem agama murtad ini yang berkuasa selama 1260 tahun. Dan untuk ini kita akan menyimak 1 dan 2 Raja-raja dan kita akan menyimak Wahyu pasal 2 di mana terdapat pesan kepada Tiatira.

 

 

So let's begin in 2 Kings 9:22, here we find a very interesting detail about Jezebel, it says there, “ ²² Now it happened, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, ‘Is it peace, Jehu?’ So he answered, ‘What peace, as long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft are so many?’…”

Now there are three details that I want you to notice in this verse. It says that:

·       Jezebel was a Harlot,

·       she was the mother,

·       and she was involved in what? In witchcraft.

Those three details are very important.

 

Jadi mari kita mulai di 2 Raja-raja 9:22, di sini kita mendapatkan detail yang sangat menarik tentang Izebel. Dikatakan di sana, “²² Maka terjadilah tatkala Yoram melihat Yehu, ia berkata, ‘Apakah damai, hai Yehu?’ Maka dia menjawab: ‘Damai apa? Selama ada begitu banyak persundalan dan sihir dari ibumu Izebel!’…”

Nah, ada 3 detail yang saya mau kalian simak di ayat ini. Dikatakan bahwa:

·       Izebel itu seorang pelacur,

·       dia seorang ibu,

·       dan dia terlibat dalam apa? Dalam sihir.

Ketiga detail ini sangat penting.

 

 

Now notice also Revelation 2:20, here is an additional characteristic. It says there, this is the period of the church of Thyatira, now we're dealing with the symbolic Jezebel, it says, “ ²⁰ Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel…” that can't be literal Jezebel, can it? No, because she died long before this. So,  “…you allow that woman Jezebel who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit…” what?  “…sexual immorality…” or fornication, would that be equivalent to the harlotries that we read in 2 Kings 9:22? Absolutely. So, to  “…seduce My servants to commit…” actually it should be translated,  “…fornication and eat things sacrificed to idols…” in other words, to practice idolatry.

 

Sekarang, simak juga Wahyu 2:20, di sini ada karakteristik tambahan. Dikatakan di sana, ini adalah periode gereja Tiatira, sekarang kita berurusan dengan Izebel simbolis. Dikatakan, “²⁰ Namun demikian, Aku punya beberapa keluhan terhadap engkau, karena engkau membiarkan wanita Izebel itu…” itu tidak mungkin Izebel literal, kan? Tidak, karena dia sudah lama mati sebelum ini. Jadi, “…engkau membiarkan wanita Izebel itu yang menyebut dirinya nabiah, mengajar dan memikat hamba-hamba-Ku supaya berbuat…”  apa?   “…seksual yang amoral…”  atau  “…zinah…”  apakah ini setara dengan “persundalan” yang kita baca di 2 Raja-raja 9:22? Tentu saja. Jadi untuk “…memikat  hamba-hamba-Ku supaya berbuat…” seharusnya diterjemahkan “…zinah dan makan persembahan-persembahan kepada berhala…”  dengan kata lain, untuk mempratekkan penyembahan berhala.

 

 

Now let's read Revelation 17:1-2 and then we'll read verse 5 which give us additional details about this symbolic Harlot that ruled 1260 years, and that will rise to power at the end. It says in verse 1, “¹Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, ‘Come, I will show you the judgment of the great Harlot…” See, there you have Jezebel the Harlot, you have here the great Harlot,  “…who sits on many waters…”  Verse 15 interprets the waters as multitudes, nations, tongues, and peoples. Did Jezebel rule over the nations in her day? Absolutely. So it says, once again, “…‘Come, I will show you the judgment of the great Harlot who sits on many waters ² with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication…” are we told in the Old Testament that Jezebel committed fornication with the king? Absolutely. “…and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.’…” that is her false doctrines. Did Jezebel contaminated Israel with her false doctrines? Absolutely.  “… ⁵ And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE  ABOMINATIONS OF  THE EARTH…” Was Jezebel called “mother”? Yes. Is this system called “mother”? Yes. We are dealing with typology here.

But when the time of fulfillment comes Jezebel is not a literal person, the daughters are not literal daughters, Elijah is not a literal person and the false prophets are not literal false prophets that go around extending the religion of Jezebel. We're dealing with symbols.

 

Sekarang mari kita baca Wahyu 17:1-2, kemudian kita akan membaca ayat 5 yang memberikan detail tambahan mengenai Pelacur simbolis ini yang berkuasa selama 1260 tahun, dan yang akan bangkit lagi ke tampuk kekuasaan pada akhir zaman. Dikatakan di ayat 1, “¹ Lalu datanglah seorang dari ketujuh malaikat, yang membawa ketujuh cawan itu dan berkata kepadaku: ‘Mari ke sini, aku akan menunjukkan kepadamu keputusan  atas Pelacur besar…”  Lihat, ada Izebel si Pelacur, dan di sini ada si Pelacur besar, “…yang duduk di atas banyak air…” Ayat 15, menginterpretasikan air-air ini sebagai orang banyak, bangsa-bangsa, bahasa-bahasa, dan kaum-kaum. Apakah Izebel berkuasa atas bangsa-bangsa di zamannya? Tepat sekali. Jadi dikatakan, sekali lagi,   “…‘Mari ke sini, aku akan menunjukkan kepadamu keputusan  atas Pelacur besar yang duduk di atas banyak air, ² dengan dia raja-raja di bumi telah berbuat zinah,…”  apakah kita diberitahu di Perjanjian Lama Izebel berbuat zinah dengan si raja? Tentu saja. “…dan penghuni-penghuni bumi telah dibuat mabuk oleh anggur perzinahannya.’…”  ini adalah doktrin-doktrin palsunya. Apakah Izebel mengkontaminasi Israel dengan doktrin-doktrin palsunya? Tepat sekali. “…⁵ Dan pada dahinya tertulis suatu nama: ‘MISTERI, BABEL BESAR, IBU DARI WANITA-WANITA PELACUR, DAN DARI  KEKEJIAN-KEKEJIAN BUMI.’…” Apakah Izebel disebut “ibu” Ya! Apakah sistem ini disebut “ibu”? Ya. Kita sedang berurusan dengan tipologi di sini.

Tetapi bila tiba waktu penggenapannya, Izebel bukanlah seorang manusia literal, putri-putrinya bukanlah putri-putri literal, Elia bukan manusia literal, dan nabi-nabi palsu bukan nabi-nabi palsu literal yang keliling memperluas agama Izebel. Kita berurusan dengan simbol.

 

 

Now also, does the Babylon of the church of Thyatira also involve itself in witchcraft or the occult? Notice Revelation 18:23, still talking about Babylon, the same system that is described as the Harlot that we read in Revelation 17. It says in Revelation 18:23, “²³ ….For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your…” what?  “…by your sorcery all the nations were deceived…”  So does end-time Babylon also major in the occult, involved in sorcery and witchcraft? Absolutely.

 

Nah, juga, apakah Babilonnya gereja Tiatira juga melibatkan dirinya dalam sihir atau okultisme? Simak Wahyu 18:23, masih bicara tentang Babilon, sistem yang sama yang digambarkan sebagai si Pelacur yang kita  baca di Wahyu 17. Dikatakan di Wahyu 18:23, “²³…Karena pedagang-pedagangmu adalah pembesar-pembesar di bumi, karena oleh…”  apa? “…oleh ilmu sihirmu semua bangsa telah disesatkan…”  Jadi apakah Babilon akhir zaman juga ahli dalam okultisme, berkecimpung dalam ilmu gaib dan sihir? Tepat sekali.  

 

 

So what was literally taking place in the times of Jezebel in the Old Testament is identical to the system that we find during the 1260 years.

·       both are referred to as “Harlots”,

·       both are referred to as “mothers”,

·       both are involved in the occult,

·       and both are spoken of as committing fornication with the kings.

 

Jadi apa yang sedang terjadi secara literal di zaman Izebel Perjanjian Lama itu identik dengan sistem yang kita lihat  berkuasa selama 1260 tahun.

·       keduanya disebut sebagai “Pelacur”,

·       keduanya disebut sebagai “ibu”,

·       keduanya berkecimpung dalam okultisme,

·       dan keduanya dikatakan berbuat zinah dengan raja-raja.

 

 

Now was worship a central issue in the days of literal Elijah? Absolutely. Notice 1 Kings 16:30-31.  “ ³⁰ Now Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord, more than all who were before him. ³¹ And it came to pass, as though it had been a trivial thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians; and he went and served Baal and…” what?  “… worshiped him.”

What was Baal in antiquity? He was the sun god. So what is it that Ahab is promoting instigated by Jezebel? He is promoting the false worship to the sun god. Very, very important.

 

Nah, apakah penyembahan itu isu utama di zaman Elia literal? Tepat sekali. Simak 1 Raja-raja 16:30-31. “³⁰ Nah, Ahab bin Omri melakukan apa yang jahat di mata TUHAN, lebih daripada semua yang mendahuluinya. ³¹ Maka terjadilah, seakan-akan itu hal kecil baginya hidup dalam dosa-dosa Yerobeam bin Nebat, sehingga ia mengambil sebagai istri, Izebel, anak Etbaal, raja orang Sidon, dan ia pergi beribadah kepada Baal dan…”  apa?   “…menyembahnya.”

Baal itu apa di zaman purba? Dia adalah dewa matahari. Jadi apa yang dipromosikan Ahab atas desakan Izebel? Dia mempromosikan penyembahan palsu kepada dewa matahari. Amat sangat penting.

 

 

Now, let’s ask,  in the book of Revelation, the Harlot which is the same as the Beast, is she involved in false worship? Is she receiving false worship? Yes. Revelation 13:4 says, “ ⁴ So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the Beast…”  the Beast is the papacy, “…and they worshiped the Beast, saying, ‘Who is like the Beast? Who is able to make war with him?’…”

So once again the issue in Revelation is what? Worship.

 

Nah, coba saya tanya, di kitab Wahyu, si Pelacur yang sama dengan Binatang itu, apakah dia terlibat dalam penyembahan palsu? Apakah dia menerima penyembahan palsu? Ya. Wahyu 13:4 berkata, “⁴ Maka mereka menyembah naga itu, yang memberi kekuasaan kepada Binatang itu…”  Binatang itu Kepausan, “…dan mereka menyembah Binatang itu, sambil berkata ‘Siapakah yang seperti Binatang ini? Dan siapakah yang mampu berperang melawan dia?’…”

Jadi sekali lagi isunya di Wahyu ialah apa? Penyembahan.

 

 

Now will the Law also be an issue during the 1260 years? Absolutely. Let's read first of all in the Old Testament, 1 Kings 18:17-18, “¹⁷ Then it happened, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, ‘Is that you, O troubler of Israel?’ ¹⁸ And he answered, ‘I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father’s house have, in that you have…” what?  “…forsaken the commandments of the Lord and have followed the Baals.”

 

Nah, apakah Hukum juga akan menjadi isu selama masa 1260 tahun itu? Tepat sekali. Mari kita baca pertama-tama dari Perjanjian Lama, 1 Raja-raja 18:17-18, “¹⁷ Lalu terjadilah ketika Ahab melihat Elia, ia berkata kepadanya: ‘Engkaukah itu, yang menyusahkan Israel?’ ¹⁸ Dan Elia menjawab, ‘Aku tidak menyusahkan Israel, tetapi engkau dan kaum keluargamu, dalam hal kamu telah…”  apa? “…meninggalkan perintah-perintah TUHAN dan telah mengikuti para Baal.’…”

 

 

So was there an attack on the commandments of God during the times of literal Jezebel? Absolutely. Is this true also of the Jezebel during the 1260 years, the Beast or the papacy? Absolutely.

Notice Daniel 7:25 referring to this period, speaking about this Jezebel system or this Beast system. “²⁵ He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change times and…” what?  “…and Law…” wow!  “…Then the saints shall be given into his hand for a time and times and half a time.”

 

Jadi apakah ada serangan terhadap Perintah-perintah Allah selama masa Izebel literal? Benar sekali.

Apakah ini juga benar untuk zaman Izebel yang 1260 tahun, Binatang itu atau Kepausan? Jelas.

Simak Daniel 7:25 merujuk ke periode ini, bicara tentang sistem Izebel atau sistem Binatang ini.  “²⁵ Ia [Tanduk Kecil] akan mengucapkan kata-kata sombong menentang Yang Mahatinggi, akan menganiaya orang-orang kudus milik Yang Mahatinggi, dan akan berniat (berpikir) untuk mengubah waktu dan…”  apa?  “…Hukum…” Wow! “…Lalu orang-orang kudus akan diserahkan ke dalam tangannya selama satu masa, masa-masa dan setengah masa.”

 

 

By the way this system is not only called the “Harlot” or the “Beast” it's also called in 2 Thessalonians 2 “the man of sin”. Is the “man of sin” characterized by lawlessness? Yes. You read 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, he's called the “man of sin”, and what is sin according to the Bible? “sin is the transgression of the Law”; and in case you didn't get it by the name, “the man of sin”, he's actually called “the mystery of lawlessness” in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2.

 

Nah, sistem ini bukan saja disebut si “Pelacur” atau “Binatang”, di 2 Tesalonika 2:3 dia disebut “manusia dosa” (LAI: manusia durhaka). Apakah “manusia dosa” ini karakternya adalah pelanggaran hukum? Ya. Bacalah 2 Tesalonika pasal 2, dia disebut “manusia dosa”, dan menurut Alkitab “dosa” itu apa? “Dosa ialah pelanggaran Hukum (1 Yoh. 3:4); dan sekiranya kalian tidak menangkap maknanya dari nama “manusia dosa”, dia juga disebut “misteri (rahasia) pelanggaran hukum (misteri dosa)” di 2 Tesalonika 2:7.

 

 

So was the church during this fourth period involved in lawlessness in attacking the Law of God? Yes.

By the way does the papacy have bunches of idols that people bow to in their cathedrals and churches? Absolutely. What does the Bible have to say about idolatry? The second commandment says, don't make idols.

Is the papacy fornicating with the kings during the period of her dominion? That is the seventh commandment, you shall not commit adultery.

And so the papacy during this period, the church of Thyatira attacked the commandments of God just like Jezebel did in the Old Testament time.

 

Jadi apakah gereja selama periode gereja keempat ini terlibat dalam pelanggaran Hukum, dengan menyerang Hukum Allah? Ya.

Nah, apakah Kepausan punya banyak patung yang disujudi orang di katedral-katedral dan gereja-gereja mereka? Betul sekali. Apa kata Alkitab tentang penyembahan berhala? Perintah kedua mengatakan “jangan membuat patung untuk disembah.”

Apakah Kepausan berzinah dengan raja-raja selama masa kekuasaannya? Itu Perintah ketujuh, “Jangan berzinah.”

Maka Kepausan selama periode ini, di masa Jemaat Tiatira, menyerang Perintah-perintah Allah, persis seperti yang dilakukan Izebel di Perjanjian Lama.

 

 

In the Old Testament was Jezebel trampling upon the sanctuary service? Yes. Notice 1 Kings 18:30-31 and then we will read verses 36-37. 1 Kings 18. “³⁰ Then Elijah said to all the people…” he's on Mount Carmel, “…‘Come near to me.’ So all the people came near to him…” And what did he do?  “…And he repaired the altar of the Lord…” did he restore the true gospel, Yes or No? The sacrifice of the animals that represented what? The sacrifice of Christ. So it says here,  “…he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down…”  Did Jezebel break down the worship of the true God and the true gospel? Yes. “…³¹ And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the Word of the Lord had come, saying, ‘Israel shall be your name.’ ³⁶ And it came to pass, at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice…” see, this is the sacrifice that represents the sacrifice of Christ, “…that Elijah the prophet came near and said, ‘Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word. ³⁷ Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that You are the Lord God…” and now notice, “…and that You have turned their hearts back to You again.’…”

What is the role of Elijah? The role of Elijah is:

·       to turn the people back to the foundations,

·       back to true worship,

·       back to obeying the commandments of the Lord,

·       back to the true sanctuary service.

 

Di Perjanjian Lama apakah Izebel menginjak-injak pelayanan Bait Suci? Ya. Simak 1 Raja-raja 18:30-31 dan kemudian kita akan membaca ayat 36-37. 1 Raja-raja 18, “³⁰ Lalu kata Elia kepada seluruh rakyat itu…” dia sedang ada di Bukit Karmel, “…‘Datanglah dekat kepadaku!’ Maka mendekatlah seluruh rakyat itu kepadanya…” Dan apa yang dilakukannya?   “…Dan ia memperbaiki mezbah TUHAN…”  apakah Elia memulihkan injil yang benar, Ya atau Tidak? Kurban hewan-hewan melambangkan apa? Kurban Kristus. Jadi dikatakan di sini, “…Dan ia memperbaiki mezbah TUHAN yang telah diruntuhkan itu…”  apakah Izebel merobohkan penyembahan Allah yang benar dan injil yang benar? Ya. “…³¹ Kemudian Elia mengambil dua belas batu, menurut jumlah suku keturunan Yakub, kepada siapa telah datang firman TUHAN mengatakan, ‘Israel akan menjadi namamu.’ ³⁶ Maka terjadilah pada waktu untuk mempersembahkan kurban petang…”  lihat, ini kurban yang melambangkan kurban Kristus, “…nabi Elia mendekat dan berkata, ‘Ya TUHAN, Allah Abraham, Ishak, dan Israel, pada hari ini biarlah diketahui orang, bahwa Engkaulah Allah di tengah-tengah Israel dan bahwa aku ini hamba-Mu dan bahwa atas firman-Mulah aku melakukan segala perkara ini. ³⁷ Dengarlah aku, ya TUHAN, dengarlah aku, supaya bangsa ini boleh mengetahui, bahwa Engkaulah TUHAN Allah…”  dan sekarang simak,  “…dan bahwa Engkaulah yang membalikkan hati mereka kepadaMu lagi.’…"

Apa peranan Elia? Peranan Elia adalah:

·       untuk membalikkan orang-orang kembali ke dasar-dasar iman,

·       kembali ke penyembahan yang benar,

·       kembali mematuhi Perintah-perintah Tuhan,

·       kembali ke pelayanan Bait Suci yang benar.

 

 

Let me ask you, did:

·       spiritual Jezebel,

·       or the Little Horn,

·       or the Beast,

·       or the man of sin

~ whatever you want to call it, it's dealing with the same system ~ not only Adventist believe this but also non-Adventist scholars, they say the Little Horn, the Beast, the Harlot, and the man of sin, all represent the same system.

Let me ask you, did the Little Horn during the 1260 years trample on the sanctuary service? Yes, it says in Daniel 8:11, “ ¹¹ He even exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host; and by him…” that is by the Little Horn, “…the daily…” the word “sacrifices” doesn't belong there, it was added,  “…the daily sacrifices was taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down.” 

Let me ask you, did the papacy institute a counterfeit sacrifice? Yes, they did, it's called the mass. They believe that each time that a mass is celebrated, Jesus is crucified again. That is not the true gospel, because Hebrews says that Jesus died once for all  and He will die no more. He paid totally and completely for sin. So the papacy instituted a counterfeit sacrifice.

 

Coba saya tanya, apakah:

·       Izebel simbolis,

·       atau Tanduk Kecil,

·       atau  Binatang itu,

·       atau manusia dosa (manusia durhaka)

~ apa pun kita menyebutnya, itu bicara tentang sistem yang sama ~ bukan hanya orang Advent yang meyakini ini, tetapi juga pakar-pakar non-Advent, mereka mengatakan bahwa Tanduk Kecil, Binatang, perempuan Pelacur, dan manusia dosa, semuanya melambangkan sistem yang sama.

Coba saya tanya, apakah selama ke-1260 tahun itu Tanduk Kecil menginjak-injak pelayanan Bait Suci? Ya! Dikatakan di Daniel 8:11, “¹¹Bahkan dia meninggikan dirinya sendiri sejajar dengan Pangeran bala tentara, dan olehnya…”  yaitu oleh si Tanduk Kecil,   “…yang sehari-hari…” kata “korban persembahan”  seharusnya tidak ada di sana, itu ditambahkan  “…korban persembahan yang sehari-hari disingkirkan, dan tempat kudusNya dicampakkan ke bawah.”

Coba saya tanya, apakah Kepausan menciptakan suatu kurban yang palsu? Ya, betul, namanya misa. Mereka meyakini setiap kali misa diadakan, Yesus disalibkan kembali. Ini bukan Injil yang benar, karena kitab Ibrani (7:27,9:28) mengatakan bahwa Yesus mati satu kali bagi semua, dan Dia tidak akan mati lagi. Dia sudah membayar lunas dan tuntas untuk dosa. Jadi Kepausan menciptakan suatu kurban yang palsu.

 

 

Did the papacy counterfeit also the issue of the confession of sins, who you confess sins to? The Bible says that we confess sins to Jesus our High Priest. What did the papacy say, “No, you confess your sins to a human priest.”

 

Apakah Kepausan memalsukan juga isu pengakuan dosa, kepada siapa orang mengaku dosanya? Alkitab berkata kita mengakui dosa kita kepada Yesus, Imam Besar kita. Apa kata Kepausan? “Tidak, kamu mengakui dosamu kepada seorang imam manusia.”

 

 

Did the papacy establish a counterfeit system of intercessors? Absolutely. The Bible says we have one Intercessor between God and man, Jesus Christ the Man. The papacy says, “No, you pray to the saints so that the saints intercede for you.”

 

Apakah Kepausan menciptakan suatu sistem perantaraan yang palsu? Tentu saja! Alkitab berkata kita hanya punya satu “Perantara antara Allah dengan manusia, Manusia Kristus Yesus” (1 Tim. 2:5). Kepausan berkata, “Tidak, kamu harus berdoa kepada orang-orang kudus (yang sudah mati) supaya mereka yang menjadi perantaramu.”

 

 

Did the papacy establish a totally counterfeit sanctuary service? Absolutely, just like in the days of Elijah. Another interesting detail is that in the days of Elijah because of the apostasy there was no rain. Notice 1 Kings 17:1, “¹ And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, ‘As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.’…”

So were the heavens closed in the day of Elijah so that there would not be any rain? Yes. Was there famine as a result? You can read the story, there was terrible famine.

 

Apakah Kepausan menciptakan suatu pelayanan Bait Suci yang seluruhnya palsu? Tentu saja, sama seperti di zaman Elia. Hal lain yang menarik ialah bahwa di zaman Elia, karena adanya kemurtadan, tidak ada hujan. Simak 1 Raja-raja 17:1, “¹ Dan Elia, orang Tisbe, dari Tisbe-Gilead, berkata kepada Ahab, ‘Demi Tuhan Allah Israel yang hidup, di hadapan Siapa aku melayani, tidak akan ada embun atau hujan  tahun-tahun ini, kecuali kalau kukatakan.’…"

Jadi apakah langit tertutup pada zaman Elia sehingga di sana tidak ada hujan apa pun? Ya. Apakah akibatnya di sana terjadi kelaparan? Kalian bisa membaca kisahnya, di sana ada kelaparan yang hebat.

 

 

Now what is the reason that the Bible gives for spiritual famine or for literal famine? Go with me to 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 to see why there was scarcity of rain in the days of Elijah, and why there was drought, and why there was hunger. It says in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14, “ ¹³ When I shut up heaven and there is no rain,…”  now comes the reason why there was no rain in the days of Elijah, “…or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, ¹⁴ if My people…” what?  “…who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

What is the reason why you have drought according to the Bible? It's because of apostasy.

 

Nah, apa alasan yang diberikan Alkitab untuk kelaparan rohani atau kelaparan literal? Marilah bersama saya ke 2 Tawarikh 7:13-14 untuk melihat mengapa ada kelangkaan hujan di zaman Elia dan mengapa di sana ada kekeringan, dan kelaparan. Dikatakan di 2 Tawarikh 7:13-14, “¹³ Bilamana Aku menutup langit dan tidak ada hujan…”  sekarang ini alasannya mengapa tidak ada hujan di zaman Elia,   “…atau menyuruh belalang memakan habis di negeri ini, atau mengirim bala sampar ke tengah-tengah umat-Ku, ¹⁴ jika umat-Ku…”  apa?   “…yang disebut dengan nama-Ku, mau merendahkan diri, dan berdoa dan mencari wajah-Ku, dan berbalik dari jalan mereka yang jahat, maka Aku akan mendengar dari Surga dan akan mengampuni dosa mereka, serta memulihkan negeri mereka.”

Apakah alasannya mengapa ada kekeringan menurut Alkitab? Karena kemurtadan.

 

 

So was there an apostasy during the times of Elijah that closed the heavens so that there would be no rain? Yes.

What about during the 1260 years the period of Thyatira? Notice what we find in Revelation 11:6. This is why I said at the beginning of the first session that we need to study Revelation 11 in conjunction with the story of Thyatira. Notice what it says in Revelation 11:6. “ ⁶ These…” one of which is Elijah, by the way, the two witnesses,  “…have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy…”  Interesting. During the period of Thyatira did it cease to rain? Yes, there was no rain, of course that's not talking about literal rain, it's talking about spiritual rain. What does rain represent spiritually speaking? It represents the Holy Spirit, we talk about the latter rain. But it not only represents the Holy Spirit, it represents the Holy Spirit working through the Word of God.

Notice Deuteronomy 32:2, here you're going to see that the rain represents the preaching of the Word through the power of the Holy Spirit. “² Let My teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, as raindrops on the tender herb, and as showers on the grass.” So what does the rain represent? It represents teaching, it represents speech, the preaching of the Word of God through the power of the Holy Spirit.

What happens when the Word is not preached through the power of the Holy Spirit? The result is famine.

 

Jadi apakah di sana ada kemurtadan di zaman Elia yang menutup langit sehingga di sana tidak turun hujan? Ya!

Bagaimana dengan selama ke-1260 tahun periode Tiatira? Simak apa yang ada di Wahyu 11:6. Inilah mengapa saya katakan di bagian awal sesi pertama bahwa kita perlu mempelajari Wahyu pasal 11 bersamaan dengan kisah Tiatira. Simak apa yang dikatakan di Wahyu 11:6, “⁶ Mereka ini…”  yaitu kedua orang saksi yang salah satunya ialah Elia,   “…mempunyai kuasa menutup langit, supaya jangan turun hujan selama mereka bernubuat…”  menarik. Selama periode Tiatira apakah tidak ada hujan? Ya, di sana tidak ada hujan, tentu saja ini tidak bicara tentang hujan literal, ini bicara tentang hujan spiritual. Hujan melambangkan apa secara spiritual? Melambangkan Roh Kudus, kita bicara tentang hujan akhir. Tetapi ini tidak hanya melambangkan Roh Kudus, ini melambangkan Roh Kudus bekerja melalui Firman Allah.

Simak Ulangan 32:2, di sini kita akan melihat hujan melambangkan dikhotbahkannya Firman melalui kuasa Roh Kudus.  “…² Hendaknya pengajaranKu jatuh laksana hujan, perkataanKu menetes laksana embun, laksana hujan renai di atas tunas muda, dan laksana curah hujan ke atas rerumputan…” Jadi hujan melambangkan apa? Melambangkan pengajaran, melambangkan kata-kata, dikhotbahkannya Firman Allah melalui kuasa Roh Kudus.

Apa yang terjadi bila Firman Allah tidak dikhotbahkan melalui kuasa Roh Kudus? Akibatnya kelaparan.

 

 

Notice Amos 8:11-12. Let me ask you, during the time of the Church of Thyatira was there famine for the Word of God? Absolutely. What did the papacy do with the Word of God? They forbade it, people could not read it, in fact church council said that it needed to be kept in a language the people could not understand, that's why there was famine. Was there a scarcity of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God during the 1260 years? Yes, it says that during this period Elijah closed the heavens so that there would be no rain, and of course this is not literal Elijah, this is spiritual Elijah.

 

Simak Amos 8:11-12. Coba saya tanya, selama periode gereja Tiatira apakah ada kelaparan untuk Firman Allah? Betul sekali. Apa yang dilakukan Kepausan dengan Firman Allah? Mereka melarangnya, orang-orang tidak bisa membacanya, bahkan konsili gereja mengatakan Firman Allah harus dipertahankan dalam bahasa yang tidak dipahami orang, itulah mengapa ada kelaparan. Simak Amos 8:11-12, “¹¹ ‘Lihat, waktunya akan datang,’ demikianlah Firman Tuhan ALLAH,  ‘Aku akan mengirimkan kelaparan ke negeri ini, bukan kelaparan akan roti, dan bukan kehausan akan air, melainkan akan mendengarkan Firman TUHAN. ¹² Mereka akan mengembara dari laut ke laut dan dari utara ke timur, mereka akan berlarian ke sana kemari mencari…”  apa?  “…Firman TUHAN, tetapi tidak akan mendapatkannya.’…”  Apakah ada kelangkaan Roh Kudus dan Firman Allah selama ke-1260 tahun? Ya, dikatakan bahwa selama periode ini Elia menutup langit sehingga tidak ada hujan, dan tentu saja ini bukan Elia literal, ini Elia spiritual (simbolis).

 

 

Now how long did the apostasy last in the days of Elijah, how long did it not rain? James 5:17 has the answer about how long this happened, it says, “¹⁷ Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for…” how long?  “…for three years and six months…” isn’t that interesting? For how long? Three and a half years.

Now you say, is that true also of the period of the Church of Thyatira, how long did Thyatira last? Well, we need to go to Revelation 11:3, “ ³ And I will give power to my two witnesses…” the two witnesses are Moses and Elijah and they are symbolic, they're not literal. So it says,  “…and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in…” what?  “…clothed in sackcloth.”

 

Nah, berapa lamakah kemurtadan berlangsung di zaman Elia, berapa lama tidak hujan? Jawabannya di Yakobus 5:17, tentang berapa lama ini terjadi. Dikatakan,  “¹⁷ Elia adalah manusia biasa sama seperti kita, dan ia telah bersungguh-sungguh berdoa, supaya hujan jangan turun, dan hujan pun tidak turun di negeri itu selama…”  berapa lama?   “…tiga tahun dan enam bulan…”  bukankah ini menarik? Selama berapa lama? Tiga setengah tahun.

Nah, kalian berkata, apa begitu juga di periode Gereja Tiatira, berapa lama masa Tiatira berlangsung? Nah, kita harus ke Wahyu 11:3, “³ Dan Aku akan memberi kuasa kepada dua saksi-Ku…”  kedua saksi ini adalah Musa dan Elia, dan mereka simbolis, mereka bukan literal. Maka dikatakan,   “…dan mereka akan bernubuat seribu dua ratus enam puluh hari lamanya sambil mengenakan…”  apa?   “…mengenakan  goni hitam.”

 

 

So how long does it say that the two witnesses were going to close the heavens so it would not rain? 1260 days, which is equivalent to how long? Well, we need to go to other verses that use a different phrase to explain it.

Daniel 7:25 which represents the same power as the Beast that rule 1260 days. It says in Daniel 7:25, speaking about the Little Horn, ^“25 He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand…” for how long?  “…for a time, and times, and half a time.” How long is that? Three and a half years.

So how long did the apostasy last during the period of Thyatira? Three and a half years.  But are they literal years or symbolic years? They are symbolic years, 1260 days are 1260 years.

·       So in the days of Elijah three and a half literal years, because we're dealing with the literal.

·       In the period of Thyatira three and a half symbolic years, 1260 years or days.

 

Jadi berapa lama dikatakan bahwa kedua saksi akan menutup langit sehingga tidak turun hujan? 1260 hari, yang setara dengan berapa lama? Nah, kita perlu ke ayat-ayat lain yang menggunakan ungkapan yang berbeda untuk menjelaskannya.

Daniel 7:25, melambangkan kekuasaan yang sama dengan Binatang yang berkuasa selama 1260 hari. Dikatakan di Daniel 7:25, bicara tentang Tanduk Kecil, “²⁵ Ia [Tanduk Kecil] akan mengucapkan kata-kata sombong menentang Yang Mahatinggi, akan menganiaya orang-orang kudus milik Yang Mahatinggi, dan akan berniat (berpikir) untuk mengubah waktu dan Hukum. Lalu orang-orang kudus akan diserahkan ke dalam tangannya…”  untuk berapa lama? “…selama satu masa, masa-masa dan setengah masa…”  Berapa lamanya ini? Tiga setengah tahun.

Jadi berapa lama kemurtadan berlangsung selama periode Tiatira?  Tiga setengah tahun. Tetapi apakah ini tahun-tahun literal atau simbolis? Ini tahun-tahun simbolis, 1260 hari (3½ tahun) itu 1260 tahun.

·       Jadi di zaman Elia, tiga setengah tahun literal, karena kita berurusan dengan yang literal.

·       Di periode Tiatira, tiga setengah tahun simbolis, 1260 hari atau tahun.

 

 

Now let me ask you, was Jezebel given time to repent? Oh yeah, she was given time to repent, three and a half years, she was given time to repent.

How long was Thyatira given time to repent? Was the papacy given time to repent? Yes. When did her probation close? In 1798. Notice Revelation 2:21, this is the message to Thyatira, notice that she had the opportunity to repent as long as the 1260 years lasted, it says in Revelation 2:21, “²¹ And I gave her time…” the Greek word is χρόνος [chronos] where we get our word “chronology” from, in other words, God is saying, “I gave her time to repent.” How much time would that be in the light of what we studied? “Time, times, and the dividing of time”.  “…I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality…” that is her illicit contacts with the kings of the earth. And what happened?  “…and she did not…” what?  “…she did not repent.” 

Did the papacy repent in 1798? No, she is the same papacy that she ever was. And if she ever regain power, which she will, she will act in the same way that she acted during the period of Thyatira.

 

Nah, coba saya tanya apakah Izebel diberi waktu untuk bertobat? Oh, iya, dia diberi waktu bertobat, tiga setengah tahun dia diberi waktu bertobat.

Berapa lama Tiatira diberi waktu bertobat? Apakah Kepausan diberi waktu bertobat? Ya.

Kapan masa kemurahan Tuhan baginya berakhir? Di 1798. Simak Wahyu 2:21, ini adalah pekabaran ke Tiatira, simak dia diberi kesempatan untuk bertobat selama waktu 1260 tahun itu, dikatakan di Wahyu 2:21, “²¹ Dan Aku telah memberikan dia waktu…”  kata Greekanya ialah χρόνος [chronos] dari mana kita mendapat kata “kronologi”. Dengan kata lain Allah mengatakan, “Aku telah memberinya waktu untuk bertobat.” Berapa banyak waktu sehubungan dengan apa yang sudah kita pelajari?    “satu masa, masa-masa, dan setengah masa”, “…²¹ Dan Aku telah memberikan dia waktu  untuk bertobat  dari perbuatan seksualnya yang amoral…” yaitu hubungan gelapnya dengan raja-raja bumi, dan apa yang terjadi?   “…tetapi ia tidak…”  apa?   “…ia tidak  bertobat…” 

Apakah Kepausan bertobat di tahun1798? Tidak, dia tetap Kepausan yang sama seperti dari semula. Dan jika sampai dia nanti mendapatkan kekuasaannya kembali, yang akan terjadi, dia akan berbuat yang sama seperti yang diperbuatnya di periode Tiatira.

 

 

Now was there a faithful remnant in the days of Elijah that did not bow to Baal, that did not break the commandments of God, and that preached the truth? Yes, there was. 1 Kings 19:18, here God says, “ ¹⁸ Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.”

Did God have a faithful remnant during this Old Testament period when Jezebel was active? Absolutely.

Did God also have a faithful remnant during the 1260 years the period of Thyatira? Yes. Revelation 2:24-25, it says, “²⁴Now to you I say, and to the rest…” we’ve already noticed that the word “rest” is λοιπος [loipos] which means “the remnant”, the same word in Revelation 12:17 “the remnant of her Seed”, so it should be translated,  “…²⁴Now to you I say, and to the remnant in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine…” in other words, the doctrine is Jezebel,  “…who have not known the depths of Satan…” which are the teachings of Jezebel,  “…as they say, I will put on you no other burden. ²⁵ But hold fast what you have till I come.”

There was a faithful remnant.

·       By the way this remnant is spoken of in Revelation 13:7 as “the saints”.

·       In Revelation 12:6, 14, they are called “the (pure) woman”.

·       And in Revelation 12:17 they are called “the remnant of her seed”.

So in other words, there was a remnant during the period of Thyatira, during “the time, times, and dividing of time”.

 

Nah, apakah ada suatu umat sisa yang setia di zaman Elia yang tidak sujud kepada Baal, yang tidak melanggar Perintah-perintah Allah, dan yang mengkhotbahkan kebenaran? Ya, ada. 1 Raja-raja 19:18 di sini Allah berkata, “¹⁸ Namun demikian Aku telah menyimpan tujuh ribu orang di Israel,  semua  yang tidak sujud menyembah Baal, dan yang mulutnya tidak mencium dia."

Apakah Allah memiliki umat sisa yang setia selama periode Perjanjian Lama ini ketika Izebel sedang aktif? Betul sekali.

Apakah Allah juga memiliki umat sisa yang setia selama ke-1260 hari periode Tiatira? Ya!.

Wahyu 2:24-25 mengatakan, “ ²⁴ Sekarang kepada kamu, Aku berkata, dan kepada yang lain…”  sudah kita simak bahwa kata “lain” itu λοιπος [loipos] yang berarti “yang tersisa”, kata yang sama yang ada di Wahyu 12:17 “yang tersisa dari Benihnya”, jadi ini seharusnya diterjemahkan,  “…²⁴ Sekarang kepada kamu, Aku berkata, dan kepada yang tersisa  di Tiatira, seberapa banyak yang tidak memiliki doktrin itu…”  dengan kata lain, yaitu doktrin  Izebel,  “…yang tidak mengenal seluk-beluk Iblis…”  yang adalah ajaran-ajaran Izebel  “…seperti kata mereka; Aku tidak akan menanggungkan beban lain kepadamu. ²⁵ Tetapi peganglah erat-erat apa yang ada padamu, sampai Aku datang.”

Jadi ada umat sisa yang setia.

·       Nah, umat sisa ini di Wahyu 13:7 disebut sebagai “orang-orang kudus”.

·       Di Wahyu 12:6, 14, mereka disebut “perempuan (yang murni)”.

·       Dan di Wahyu 12:17 mereka disebut “yang tersisa dari Benihnya”.

Dengan kata lain, di masa Tiatira ada umat yang sisa, selama periode “satu masa, masa-masa, dan setengah masa”.

 

 

Now you notice also the  phrase “the depths of Satan”.

Was the papacy involved in the depths of Satan during the period of her dominion? She is called “the mystery of iniquity”, the system is called “the man of sin”, the system is called “the wicked one”, if you please, in 2 Thessalonians 2 those are the depths of Satan.

 

Sekarang kalian simak juga ungkapan “seluk beluk Setan”.

Apakah Kepausan terlibat dalam seluk beluk Setan selama periode kekuasaannya? Dia disebut “misteri (rahasia) dosa” (2 Tes 2:7), sistem itu disebut “manusia dosa (durhaka)” (2 Tes. 2:3) dan sistem itu disebut “si jahat” (2 Tes. 2:8) di 2 Tesalonika 2, itulah seluk-beluk Setan.

 

 

Now who was blamed for everything that was happening in the days of Elijah? Of course it was Elijah. Notice 1 Kings 18:10, 17. Here Ahab is speaking to Elijah and he says, “¹⁰ As the Lord your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my master has …” actually it’s the servant of the king, “…where my master has not sent someone to hunt for you; and when they said, ‘He is not here,’ he took an oath from the kingdom or nation that they could not find you…” in other words, they had the promise that they were telling the truth that they had not found Elijah. Verse 17 says, “…¹⁷ Then it happened, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, ‘Is that you, O troubler of Israel?’…”  

 

Nah, siapa yang disalahkan untuk semua yang terjadi di zaman Elia? Tentu saja Elia. Simak 1 Raja-raja 18:10, 17, di sini Ahab berbicara kepada Elia dan dia berkata, “¹⁰ Demi TUHAN, Allahmu, yang hidup, tidak ada bangsa atau kerajaan, ke mana tuanku (Ahab)…”  ternyata yang bicara ini hamba raja Ahab (bukan Ahab sendiri) “…tidak mengirim orang untuk memburu engkau. Dan apabila orang berkata, ‘Ia tidak di sini’, maka ia menyuruh kerajaan atau bangsa itu bersumpah bahwa mereka tidak bisa menemukan engkau…”  Dengan kata lain, mereka berjanji bahwa mereka mengatakan yang sebenarnya dan mereka tidak menemukan Elia. Ayat 17 mengatakan, “…¹⁷ Lalu terjadilah, ketika Ahab melihat Elia, Ahab berkata kepadanya: Engkaukah itu, yang menyusahkan Israel?’…"

 

 

So who was blamed for all of the calamities that took place? It was Elijah.

Who was blamed for all of the calamities that took place during the 1260 years? It was a very turbulent time, folks. You had disease that was rampant in Europe. You had ignorance, a lack of education by most of the populace. You have terrible severe poverty. You have heard of the bubonic plague, right? The black plague that wiped out hundreds of thousands, millions, in Europe. Who was blamed for these things? The Waldenses, the Albigenses, and those who were faithful to God. And the argument was used, if you get rid of these, peace and prosperity will come back again.

 

Jadi siapa yang disalahkan untuk semua malapetaka yang terjadi? Elia.

Siapa yang disalahkan untuk semua malapetaka yang terjadi selama 1260 tahun? Itu adalah masa yang sangat kacau, Saudara-saudara. Ada penyakit yang merajalela di Eropa. Ada kebodohan, kurangnya pendidikan sebagian besar masyarakat. Ada kemiskinan yang sangat parah. Kalian pernah mendengar tentang wabah penyakit sampar, kan? Wabah hitam yang membinasakan ribuan, bahkan jutaan orang di Eropa. Siapa yang disalahkan? Kelompok Waldenses, Albigenses, dan mereka yang setia kepada Allah. Dan argumentasi yang dipakai ialah, jika orang-orang itu dilenyapkan, maka damai dan kemakmuran akan pulih.

 

 

Now where did Elijah flee when he was persecuted by Jezebel? 1 Kings 17:3, are you seeing all these parallels? See the church of Thyatira is repeating the history of Elijah in the Old Testament, but you're dealing with symbolic Elijah, symbolic Jezebel, symbolic Ahab, and the symbolic prophets of Baal.

Notice 1 King 17:3 God says to Elijah, “‘ ³ Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan.”

So Elijah flees to the wilderness.

Where did the church, the faithful remnant church flee during the 1260 years? Revelation 12:6, 14 tell us that the church, the remnant, fled to the wilderness just like Elijah. Let's read verse 6, “ ⁶ Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days…” that’s the three and a half years. Then we find in verse 14, “…¹⁴ But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly…” where?  “…into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time…” that's the three and a half years “…from the presence of the serpent.” 

So where did the church flee during the period of the fourth church? She fled to the wilderness, the same place that Elijah fled when Jezebel wanted to destroy him.

 

Sekarang ke mana Elia lari ketika dia dipersekusi oleh Izebel? 1 Raja-raja 17:3, apakah kalian melihat semua persamaan ini? Lihat, gereja Tiatira mengulangi sejarah Elia Perjanjian Lama, tetapi sekarang kita berurusan dengan Elia simbolis, Izebel simbolis, Ahab simbolis, dan nabi-nabi Baal simbolis.

Simak 1 Raja-raja 17:3 Allah berkata kepada Elia, “³ Pergilah dari sini, berjalanlah ke timur dan bersembunyilah di tepi sungai Kerit yang mengalir ke sungai Yordan.”

Jadi Elia lari ke padang gurun.

Ke mana gereja umat sisa yang setia lari selama 1260 tahun? Wahyu 12:6, 14 mengatakan kepada kita bahwa gereja itu, umat yang sisa, lari ke padang gurun persis seperti Elia. Mari kita baca ayat 6, “⁶ Lalu  perempuan itu lari ke padang gurun, di mana telah disediakan suatu tempat baginya oleh Allah, supaya ia diberi makan di situ seribu dua ratus enam puluh hari lamanya…”  ini tiga setengah tahunnya. Lalu kita lihat ayat 14, “…¹⁴ Dan kepada perempuan itu diberikan dua sayap burung nasar yang besar, supaya ia boleh terbang…”  ke mana?   “…ke padang gurun, ke tempatnya di mana ia dipelihara selama satu masa, masa-masa dan setengah masa…”  ini tiga setengah tahunnya,   “…jauh dari ular itu.”

Jadi ke mana gereja lari selama periode Gereja Keempat? Dia terbang ke padang gurun, ke tempat yang sama ke mana Elia lari ketika Izebel mau membinasakan dia.

 

 

Now who nourished Elijah when he fled to the wilderness. 1 King 17:4 says, “ ⁴ And it will be that you shall drink from the brook…” this is the brook Cherith,  “…and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.’…”

So who fed Elijah when Elijah fled to wilderness? It was God who fed him.

Notice also 1 Kings 17:6, “⁶ The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook.” 

Was that a miracle of God that He provided the food for Elijah?

Let me ask you what happened with the church during the 1260 years, were they fed by the Lord in the wilderness? We just read it. Let's read it again, Revelation 12:6, “ ⁶ Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should…” what? “…feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days…” Verse 14,  “…¹⁴ But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is…” what? “…nourished for a time and times and half a time from the presence of the serpent.” 

 

Nah, siapa yang memberi makan Elia ketika dia lari ke padang gurun? 1 Raja-raja 17:4 mengatakan, “⁴ Dan yang akan terjadi, engkau akan minum dari sungai itu…”  ini adalah sungai Kerit, “…dan telah Kuperintahkan burung-burung gagak untuk memberi makan engkau di sana.…” 

Jadi siapa yang memberi makan Elia ketika dia lari ke padang gurun? Allah-lah yang memberinya makan.

Simak juga 1 Raja-raja 17:6, “⁶ Pada waktu pagi dan petang burung-burung gagak membawa roti dan daging kepadanya, dan ia minum dari sungai itu.”

Apakah ini suatu mujizat dari Allah, Dia menyediakan makanan untuk Elia?

Coba saya tanya apa yang terjadi pada gereja selama 1260 tahun, apakah mereka diberi makan oleh Tuhan di padang gurun? Kita baru saja membacanya. Mari kita baca lagi, Wahyu 12:6, ⁶ Lalu  perempuan itu lari ke padang gurun, di mana telah disediakan suatu tempat baginya oleh Allah, supaya ia…”  apa?   “…diberi makan di situ seribu dua ratus enam puluh hari lamanya…”  Ayat 14, “…¹⁴ Dan kepada perempuan itu diberikan dua sayap burung nasar yang besar, supaya ia boleh terbang ke padang gurun, ke tempatnya di mana ia…”  apa?   “…dipelihara selama satu masa, masa-masa dan setengah masa jauh dari ular itu.”

 

 

Are you seeing the parallels? This is not coincidence this is called typology. The literal in the Old Testament becomes symbolic of something far greater in the future. We're dealing with the period of Thyatira, the period of the Fourth Church.

 

Apakah kalian melihat persamaannya? Ini bukan kebetulan, ini namanya tipologi. Yang literal di zaman Perjanjian Lama menjadi simbolis dari sesuatu yang lebih besar di masa yang akan datang. Kita sedang berurusan dengan periode Tiatira, periode dari Gereja Keempat.

 

 

Did Jezebel shed the blood of God's faithful people? Yes. Notice 1 Kings 18:4, it says, “ ⁴ For so it was, while Jezebel massacred the prophets of the Lord, that Obadiah had taken one hundred prophets and hidden them, fifty to a cave, and had fed them with bread and water.”

So did Jezebel massacre the prophets of the Lord? Yes, she did.

Notice 1 Kings 19:1-2, now Jezebel is going to send a message to Elijah because she hates Elijah. “ ² Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying…” this is after Mount Carmel,  “…‘So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time…” “I'm going to kill you,” is what she is saying. “ ³ And when he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and went to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.”

So Jezebel was a murderous woman. She wanted to kill the faithful of God, the faithful remnant.

 

Apakah Izebel menumpahkan darah umat Allah yang setia? Ya. Simak 1 Raja-raja 18:4, dikatakan,“⁴ Demikianlah, sementara Izebel membantai nabi-nabi TUHAN, Obaja mengambil seratus orang nabi, lalu menyembunyikan mereka, tiap lima puluh dalam satu gua dan memberi makan mereka dengan roti dan air…” 

Jadi apakah Izebel membantai nabi-nabi Tuhan? Ya, benar.

Simak 1 Raja-raja 19:1-2, sekarang Izebel akan mengirim pesan ke Elia karena dia membenci Elia. “² Lalu Izebel mengirim seorang kurir ke Elia, mengatakan…”  ini setelah peristiwa di Bukit Karmel, “…‘Biarlah dewa-dewa berbuat padaku lebih daripada itu, jika aku tidak membuat hidupmu seperti hidup salah seorang dari mereka sebelum besok kira-kira pada waktu ini.’…” “Aku akan membunuhmu,” itulah yang dikatakannya. “…³ Dan ketika dia melihat itu, dia bangkit dan lari menyelamatkan nyawanya; dan pergi ke Bersyeba, yang termasuk wilayah Yehuda, dan meninggalkan bujangnya di sana.”

Jadi Izebel adalah seorang perempuan pembunuh. Dia mau membunuh umat Allah yang setia, umat sisa yang setia.

 

 

Is that true of the Harlot during the 1260 years? Revelation 17:6, “⁶ I saw the woman,…”  she's already been identified as a great Harlot, she's already been identified as one who commits fornication with the kings of the earth, she's already been identified as a woman who has daughters, she's already been identified by all of these characteristics and now it says, “…⁶ I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.”

Are you seeing the fulfillment of this?

 

Apakah benar perempuan Pelacur itu berbuat demikian selama masa 1260 tahun? Wahyu 17:6, “⁶ Dan aku melihat perempuan itu…”  dia sudah diidentifikasi sebagai Pelacur Besar itu, dia sudah diidentifikasi sebagai yang berbuat zinah dengan raja-raja bumi, dia sudah diidentifikasi sebagai perempuan yang punya anak-anak perempuan, dia sudah diidentifikasi dengan semua karakteristik ini dan sekarang dikatakan, “…“⁶ Dan aku melihat perempuan itu mabuk oleh darah orang-orang kudus dan darah martir-martir Yesus. Dan ketika aku melihatnya, aku terkesima dengan keheranan yang besar.”

Apakah kalian melihat penggenapan ini?

 

 

Now did Jezebel have false prophets that extended her religion? Yes, she had a false priesthood, if you please. Notice 1 Kings 18:19. “ ¹⁹ Now therefore, send and gather all Israel to me on Mount Carmel, the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal, and the four hundred prophets of Asherah, who eat at Jezebel’s table.’…”

So you have here two groups, you have the 450 prophets of Baal, the 400 prophets of Asherah. Now who was Baal? I've already mentioned that Baal was the sun god. Who was Asherah? Asherah was the moon god. You know the ancients made idols of silver and gold. The idols of gold represented the sun god, the idols of silver represented the moon god, because silver is the color of the moon, we speak of the silvery moon. And so here we find the false prophets of Baal and the false prophets of Asherah who are manipulated by Jezebel to extend the religion of Baal.

Now is this true also of the period of the 1260 years? Absolutely.

 

Nah, apakah Izebel punya nabi-nabi palsu yang memperluas agamanya? Ya, dia punya imamat palsu, katakanlah demikian. Simak 1 Raja-raja 18:19, “¹⁹ Sebab itu, kirimlah dan kumpulkan seluruh Israel kepadaku di gunung Karmel, keempat ratus lima puluh nabi-nabi Baal dan keempat ratus nabi-nabi Asyera, yang makan di meja Izebel.’…”

Jadi ada dua kelompok di sini, ada 450 nabi Baal dan 400 nabi Asyerah. Nah, siapakah Baal? Saya sudah menyebutkan bahwa Baal adalah dewa matahari. Siapa Asyera? Asyera adalah dewi bulan. Kalian tahu orang-orang purba membuat patung-patung dari perak dan emas. Patung-patung emas melambangkan dewa matahari, patung-patung perak melambangkan dewi bulan karena perak adalah warna bulan, kita bicara tentang bulan yang keperakan. Maka di sini kita mendapatkan nabi-nabi palsu Baal dan nabi-nabi palsu Asyera yang dimanipulasi oleh Izebel untuk memperluas agama Baal.

Nah apakah ini juga terjadi di periode 1260 tahun? Tentu saja

 

 

You have the mother of harlots, but if she's a mother she must also have what? She must also have daughters that were born from her. By the way they were not born from her when she just began her career because little girls cannot have babies, so she must have had these later on in her career, are you with me or not? They were born from her at some point later on in her career.

 

Ada Ibu pelacur-pelacur, jika dia seorang ibu dia tentunya memiliki apa? Tentunya dia memiliki anak-anak perempuan yang terlahir darinya. Nah, mereka tidak lahir darinya ketika dia baru memulai kariernya karena anak perempuan kecil tidak bisa punya anak, jadi tentunya baru kemudian di belakangan kariernya  dia memiliki anak-anak perempuan. Apakah kalian paham atau tidak? Mereka terlahir darinya suatu waktu di kemudian hari dari kariernya.

 

 

The book of Revelation speaks about three instruments that Satan is going to use.

·       The Beast ~ Revelation 16:13 ~  the Beast which represents the papacy,

·       the false prophets, the false prophet by the way which is symbolized by the false prophets (should be the daughters),

·       and the dragon which represents the kings of the earth.

You say, “Well, doesn't the dragon represents Satan?”

Yeah, the dragon represents Satan, but it's Satan working through the civil powers of the world. In other words, primarily it's Satan, but in a secondary sense it represents Satan working through the civil powers of the world. And we know that through several ways.

·       Do you remember that when we talked about the church of Smyrna, it said that Satan was going to throw people into prison? Well, does Satan throw people into prison? Does Satan come in person, you know he takes a person throws him in prison? No, of course not. How did Satan throw people into prison during the period of the persecutions of the Roman emperors? He did it through the Roman emperors.

·       The dragon stood next to the woman to devour her Child as soon as the Child was born. Did the Devil come and try to kill Jesus personally? No, he used whom? He used Herod.

·       By the way in Ezekiel 29:3 Pharaoh is called the great dragon, he is a civil ruler.

So what this is saying here is that the dragon represents the civil powers of the world, the Beast represents the papacy, and the false prophet represents the daughters. Once again you have a repetition of the story of Elijah in the Old Testament.

 

Kitab Wahyu bicara tentang tiga alat yang akan dipakai Setan:

·       Binatang itu ~ Wahyu 16:13 ~ Binatang yang melambangkan Kepausan,

·       nabi-nabi palsu ~ nah, nabi-nabi palsu disimbolkan oleh anak-anak perempuan,

·       dan naga yang melambangkan raja-raja bumi.

Kalian berkata, “Nah, bukankah naga melambangkan Setan?”

Iya, naga melambangkan Setan, tetapi itu Setan yang bekerja melalui kekuatan sipil dunia. Dengan kata lain, pertama itu Setan, tetapi dalam pengertian kedua itu melambangkan Setan yang bekerja melalui kekuatan sipil dunia. Dan itu kita ketahui dari beberapa hal.

·       Ingatkah kalian ketika kita bicara tentang gereja Smirna, dikatakan bahwa Setan akan melemparkan orang-orang ke penjara? Nah, apakah Setan yang melemparkan orang-orang ke penjara? Apakah Setan datang sendiri, mengambil seseorang lalu melemparkannya ke penjara?  Tidak, tentu saja. Bagaimana Setan melemparkan orang-orang ke dalam penjara selama periode persekusi kaisar-kaisar Roma? Dia melakukannya melalui kaisar-kaisar Roma.

·       Naga itu berdiri di samping perempuan untuk melahap Anaknya begitu Anak itu lahir. Apakah Iblis datang sendiri dan berusaha membunuh Yesus sendiri? Tidak, dia memakai siapa? Dia memakai Herodes.

·       Nah, di Yehezkiel 29:3 Firaun disebut “naga besar” dia adalah seorang penguasa sipil.

Jadi apa yang dikatakan di sini  bahwa naga itu melambangkan kekuatan-kekuatan sipil dunia, Binatang itu melambangkan Kepausan, dan nabi-nabi palsu melambangkan anak-anak perempuan. Sekali lagi ada pengulangan kisah Elia di Perjanjian Lama.

 

 

So let me ask you, during the 1260 years did the papacy have daughters born from her? Yes, she did. Who are they? They are the Protestant churches. Were the Protestant churches born from the papacy? Absolutely. Do they share several doctrines with the papacy? They most certainly do.

·       Does the papacy teach that Sunday is the day we’re supposed to keep? Yes.

Do Protestants believe the same? Yes.

·       Does the papacy teach that when a person dies their soul goes to Heaven or to hell? Yes.

Does apostate Protestantism teach that when a person dies if they were good they go to Heaven, if they are lost they go to hell? Yes.

·       Does the papacy teach an eternally burning hell? Yes.

Do Protestants teach that individuals are going to burn forever in hell? Absolutely.

Do the daughters have many of the same teachings as the mother? Yes, and that is the reason why they will eventually come back to mommy. And by the way it's happening right now as I speak, the Protestant churches are getting closer and closer to the papacy, signing agreements, the great television evangelists are all going to Rome and they are wowed by the Roman Catholic papacy.

 

Jadi coba saya tanya, selama ke-1260 tahun apakah Kepausan punya anak-anak perempuan yang lahir darinya? Ya, benar. Siapakah mereka? Mereka adalah gereja-gereja Protestan. Apakah gereja-gereja Protestan lahir dari Kepausan? Tepat sekali. Apakah mereka berbagi beberapa doktrin yang sama dengan Kepausan? Jelas iya.

·       Apakah Kepausan mengajarkan bahwa hari Minggu adalah hari yang harus dipelihara? Ya.

Apakah orang-orang Protestan meyakini yang sama? Ya.

·       Apakah Kepausan mengajarkan bahwa saat seseorang mati, nyawa mereka pergi ke Surga atau neraka? Ya.

Apakah Protestantisme murtad mengajarkan bahwa ketika seseorang mati jika dia itu baik, dia ke Surga, dan jika dia tidak selamat dia ke neraka? Ya.

·       Apakah Kepausan mengajarkan neraka yang menyala terus selamanya? Ya.

Apakah orang-orang Protestan mengajarkan bahwa orang-orang akan terbakar selamanya di neraka? Betul sekali.

Apakah anak-anak perempuannya memiliki banyak ajaran yang sama dengan ibunya? Ya, dan itulah alasan mengapa mereka akhirnya pulang ke ibu mereka. Dan ketahuilah, itu sedang terjadi sekarang sementara saya bicara ini, gereja-gereja Protestan semakin lama semakin mendekat kepada Kepausan, menandatangani persetujuan-persetujuan, para evangelis televisi yang tenar-tenar semuanya mau ke Roma dan mereka disambut dengan gembira oleh Kepausan Roma Katolik.

 

 

So you have in Revelation 2:23 it says, “ ²³ I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.”

So does Jezebel during the 1260 years have children? Yes, because Revelation 2:23 is talking about Thyatira, and it says “ ²³ I will kill her children”.  Now who are the children?

I want to read you a very interesting, actually a couple of statements by popes, this is at Vatican Council II. Have you ever heard of Vatican Council II? It took place from 1962 to 1965, the two popes that presided this council were John XXIII and Paul VI, because John XXIII died during the council. I want you to notice that even the Roman Catholic church calls the Protestant churches “daughters” or “children”.

 

Jadi di Wahyu 2:23 dikatakan, “²³ Aku akan membunuh  anak-anaknya  dengan kematian dan semua jemaat akan mengetahui bahwa Akulah Dia yang menguji batin dan hati. Dan Aku akan membalaskan kepada setiap orang menurut perbuatanmu.”

Jadi apakah Izebel selama 1260 tahun memiliki anak-anak? Ya, karena Wahyu 2:23 bicara tentang Tiatira, dan itu berkata, “²³ Aku akan membunuh  anak-anaknya”. Nah siapakah anak-anak ini?

Saya mau membacakan suatu pernyataan, sesungguhnya dua pernyataan dari Paus-paus, ini di Konsili Vatikan II. Pernahkah kalian mendengar tentang Konsili Vatikan II? Itu berlangsung dari 1962-1965. Kedua paus yang mengepalai konsili itu ialah Yohanes XXIII dan Paulus VI, karena Yohanes XXIII meninggal saat konsili masih berlangsung. Saya mau kalian menyimak, bahkan gereja Roma Katolik menyebut gereja-gereja Protestan “anak-anak perempuan” atau “anak-anak”.

 

 

The first statement is by John XXIII at the opening of Vatican Council II. The Roman Catholic church had invited the Protestant denominations to have representatives there to observe what was happening. Here is the statement.

“She (the Roman Catholic Church) desires to be an affectionate kind and patient mother.  She is moved by compassion and goodness toward her alienated children…”

Interesting that pope John XXIII refers to the Protestants as what?  “alienated children”.

 

Pernyataan pertama berasal dari Yohanes XXIII saat pembukaan Konsili Vatikan II. Gereja Roma Katolik sudah mengundang denominasi-denominas Protestan untuk mengirimkan wakil-wakil mereka ke sana untuk menyaksikan apa yang terjadi. Inilah pernyataannya.

“…Dia (gereja Roma Katolik) mau menjadi ibu yang penyayang dan penyabar. Dia tergerak oleh rasa iba dan kebaikan terhadap anak-anaknya yang menjauh…” (Ernesto Balducci,John:The Transitional Pope, transl., Dorothy White [New York: Hill Book Company, 1964. p. 269.)

Menarik, paus Yohanes XXIII menyebut Protestan sebagai apa? “Anak-anak yang menjauh.”

 

 

In fact there's one writer John O'Brien who taught for many years at the University of Notre Dame, he taught theology, he says that there's no reason for Protestants to keep Sunday as a day of worship except by accepting the authority of the Roman Catholic church.  And then he says, you know, Protestants are like a little boy who ran away from home, but he keeps in his pocket a picture of his mother or a lock of her hair, because he always remembers mommy. See, and the Protestants today they're gravitating towards Rome.

 

Malah ada satu penulis, John O’Brien yang selama bertahun-tahun mengajar di Universitas Notre Dame, dia mengajar theologi, dia berkata, tidak ada alasan lain bagi Protestan untuk memelihara hari Minggu sebagai hari ibadah kecuali itu menerima autoritas gereja Roma Katolik. Kemudian dia berkata, Protestan itu seperti seorang anak kecil yang lari dari rumah, tetapi dia menyimpan di sakunya sebuah foto ibunya atau seikat rambutnya, karena dia selalu ingat ibunya. (John O’Brien dalam buku The Faith of Millions)

Lihat, golongan Protestan hari ini, mereka condong ke arah Roma.

 

 

The second quotation is from Pope Paul VI during Vatican Council II. Here's the statement,

“Because of their position, separated brethren…” that's the Protestants,  “…are the object of deep and tender affection on the part of the Mother Church…” See, he’s calling it the “Mother Church”  “…. It is a love that feels grief and sadness, the love of a heart wounded by estrangement, because the estrangement prevents our brethren from enjoying so many privileges and rights, and makes them lose so much grace…”  in other words if you don't belong to the Catholic church you know you're losing many privileges and rights and you're losing so much grace. The quotation continues “…But perhaps for this very reason its love is all the deeper and more burning. . .”

 

Pernyataan kedua ialah dari Paus Paulus VI selama Konsili Vatikan II. Ini pernyataannya, “…Karena posisi mereka, maka saudara-saudara yang terpisah ini…” yaitu Protestan,  “…adalah objek kasih sayang yang mendalam dan lembut dari Gereja Ibu…”  Lihat, dia menyebutnya “Gereja Ibu”   “…Itu adalah kasih yang merasakan duka dan kesedihan, kasih dari hati yang terluka akibat pemisahan, karena pemisahan menghalangi saudara-saudara kita untuk menikmati begitu banyak hak-hak istimewa dan membuat mereka kehilangan begitu banyak karunia…”  dengan kata lain, jika kita bukan anggota gereja Katolik, kita kehilangan banyak keistimewaan dan hak-hak, dan kehilangan begitu banyak karunia. Kutipan itu berlanjut, “…Tetapi mungkin justru karena alasan inilah kasihnya semakin mendalam dan berkobar…” (Cardinal Augustin Bea, The Unity of Christians, ed., Bernard Leeming [New York: Herder and Herder, 1963], p. 140)

 

 

Now what was going to happen with the papacy and with her daughters at the end of the 1260 years? Revelation 2:21 says, “ ²¹ And I gave her time to repent of her fornication (sexual immorality)…” We have already mentioned that's “time, times, and the dividing of time”, 1260 years, did she repent?  No, “…and she did not repent…” So what happened? Notice  verse 22,  “…²² Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed…” was she going to cease ruling and doing what she was doing? Yeah, she was going to be sick for a while. “…I will cast her into a sickbed and those who commit adultery with her…”  who were the ones that were committing fornication with her? In the Old Testament it was literal king Ahab. But in the fulfillment, it is the kings of Europe, right? And so it says, “… ²² Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit fornication (adultery) with her into great tribulation…” did the papacy go through great tribulation at the very end when she received the deadly wound? Just read about the French Revolution, folks, when France arose with a vengeance against the papacy and threw her into a sickbed the way it says here. And so it says here,  “… ²² Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit fornication (adultery) with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds.”

 

Nah, apa yang akan terjadi pada Kepausan dan anak-anak perempuannya pada akhir 1260 tahun? Wahyu 2:21 berkata, “²¹ Dan Aku telah memberikan dia waktu untuk bertobat dari perbuatan seksualnya yang amoral (zinah)nya…”  kita sudah menyinggung ini, itulah “satu masa, masa-masa, dan setengah masa”, ke-1260 tahun, apakah dia bertobat? Tidak, “…tetapi ia tidak bertobat…”  Lalu apa yang terjadi? Simak ayat 22,  “…²² Sungguh, Aku akan melemparkan dia ke atas ranjang orang sakit…”  apakah dia akan berhenti berkuasa dan berhenti melakukan apa yang dilakukannya? Ya, dia akan sakit untuk sementara waktu. “…Aku akan melemparkan dia ke atas ranjang orang sakit dan mereka yang berbuat zinah dengan dia…” siapakah mereka yang berbuat zinah dengannya? Di Perjanjian Lama itu raja Ahab literal. Tetapi di penggenapannya, itu adalah raja-raja Eropa, benar? Jadi dikatakan,   “…²² Sungguh, Aku akan melemparkan dia ke atas ranjang orang sakit  dan mereka yang berbuat zinah dengan dia  ke dalam kesukaran besar…”  apakah Kepausan mengalami kesukaran besar pada akhirnya ketika dia menerima luka yang mematikan? Bacalah Revolusi Perancis, Saudara-saudara, ketika Perancis bangkit dengan amarah pembalasan dendam terhadap Kepausan dan melemparkannya ke ranjang orang sakit seperti yang dikatakan di sini. Jadi dikatakan di sini, “…²² Sungguh, Aku akan melemparkan dia ke atas ranjang orang sakit  dan mereka yang berbuat zinah dengan dia  ke dalam kesukaran besar  kecuali  mereka bertobat dari perbuatan-perbuatan mereka.”

 

 

In the Lexicon of Arndt and Gingrich page 436 we find an explanation of what the word “sickbed” means. It means this, “to lay someone on a sickbed (Rv. 2:22)  i.e. strike her with an illness with a lingering illness as a  divine punishment.”

Interesting.

 

Di Lexicon Arndt and Gingrich hal. 436 kita menemukan penjelasan tentang makna perkataan “ranjang orang sakit”, itu artinya ini, “membaringkan seseorang di ranjang orang sakit (Wahyu 2:22) yaitu memukulnya dengan suatu penyakit, penyakit yang berkepanjangan sebagai hukuman dari Allah.”

Menarik.

 

 

Now do you understand what happened during the church of Thyatira? Do we need the story of Elijah in order to understand what happened during the period of the Fourth Church? Absolutely, the Fourth Church is repeating the history of Elijah only symbolically not literally. The personages in the literal story represent something far broader. But I want to go now to the fact that this story is going to have an end time fulfillment as well. Jezebel is going to rise from her sickbed. The book of Revelation tells us that this system, this Jezebel received a deadly wound at the end of her career, but Revelation 13:3 tells us that her deadly wound was healed and the whole world marveled and wondered after the Beast. Now in other words the church of Thyatira does not exhaust the meaning of this story.

Let's go to Malachi 4:1-3. Let me ask you,

·       did the great and terrible day of the Lord come at the end of the 1260 years?

No, it didn't.

·       Did Jezebel come to an end at the end of the 1260 years?

No, she was thrown into a sickbed, but she didn't come to her end.

·       Did the daughters come to an end at the end of the 1260 years?

No.

·       Was the church translated to heaven like Elijah at the end of the 1260 years?

No.

So are we to expect an end time Elijah that will finish the story that was suspended when Jezebel received her deadly wound? Absolutely. We are to expect a revival of Jezebel and all of the actors of the story.

 

Nah, apakah kalian paham apa yang terjadi selama periode gereja Tiatira? Apakah kita butuh kisah Elia supaya bisa mengerti apa yang terjadi selama periode Gereja Keempat ini? Tentu saja, Gereja Keempat mengulangi sejarah Elia, tetapi secara simbolis, bukan secara literal. Tokoh-tokoh di kisah yang literal melambangkan sesuatu yang jauh lebih luas. Tetapi saya mau ke fakta bahwa kisah ini akan memiliki penggenapan akhir zaman juga. Izebel akan bangkit dari ranjang orang sakitnya. Kitab Wahyu memberitahu kita bahwa sistem ini, Izebel ini, sudah menerima luka yang mematikan pada akhir kariernya, tetapi Wahyu 13:3 mengatakan bahwa lukanya yang mematikan sembuh dan seluruh dunia kagum dan mengikuti Binatang itu. Nah, dengan kata lain, gereja Tiatira bukanlah akhir dari kisah ini.

Mari kita ke Maleakhi 4:1-3, coba saya tanya:

·       apakah hari Tuhan yang besar dan mengerikan itu datang pada akhir ke-1260 tahun? Tidak.

·       apakah Izebel berakhir di akhir 1260 tahun?

Tidak, dia dilemparkan ke ranjang orang sakit, tetapi dia tidak bertemu dengan akhirnya.

·       apakah anak-anak perempuan menemui akhirnya pada akhir 1260 tahun? Tidak.

·       apakah  gereja dipindahkan ke Surga seperti Elia pada akhir ke-1260 tahun? Tidak.

Jadi apakah kita boleh berharap ada Elia akhir zaman yang akan menyelesaikan kisah yang terhenti ketika Izebel menerima lukanya yang mematikan? Tepat sekali. Kita bisa berharap ada kebangkitan Izebel dan semua tokoh kisah tersebut.

 

 

Let's go to Malachi 4:1-3, ¹ ‘For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,’ says the Lord of hosts,…” this is the coming of Jesus, isn't it, to destroy the wicked?  “…‘that will leave them neither root nor branch. ² But to you who fear My name…” here's the remnant,  “…the Sun of Righteousness…” a symbol of Jesus,  “…shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.³ You shall trample the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

So this describes the day of the coming of Jesus to destroy the wicked, but before that day something is going to happen, somebody is going to be sent to the world to warn the world that this day is coming.

Notice Malachi 4:5-6, the very next verses, “⁵ Behold, I will send you…” whom?  “…Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord…”  What is “the great and dreadful day of the Lord”? What event is that? It's the second coming of Christ, right? So does God promised to send Elijah before the great and dreadful day of the Lord? Yes. Is it a literal Elijah, one individual? No it can't be, one individual cannot warn the whole world. So it says, “…⁵ Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord…” what does God send Elijah for?  “…⁶ And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”

So are we to expect an end time Elijah that will warn the world before destruction comes? Absolutely. So will there be an end time Elijah? Yes.

 

Mari kita kembali ke Maleakhi 4:1-3, “¹ ‘Karena itu lihatlah, hari itu datang, menyala seperti perapian, maka semua orang yang tinggi hati, ya, semua yang berbuat fasik akan menjadi jerami dan hari yang datang itu akan membakar habis mereka’, firman TUHAN semesta alam…”  ini adalah kedatangan Yesus, bukan? Untuk membinasakan yang jahat,   “…yang tidak akan meninggalkan akar dan cabang. ² Tetapi bagi kamu yang takut akan nama-Ku…” ini umat yang sisa, “…Surya Kebenaran…” simbol Yesus, “…akan terbit dengan penyembuhan di  sayapNya. Dan kamu akan keluar dan menjadi tambun seperti anak lembu yang diberi makan di kandang. ³ Kamu akan menginjak-injak orang-orang fasik, sebab mereka akan menjadi abu di bawah telapak kakimu, pada hari Aku melakukan ini,” firman TUHAN semesta alam.”

Jadi, ini menggambarkan hari kedatangan Yesus untuk membinasakan yang jahat, tetapi sebelum hari itu, ada sesuatu yang akan terjadi, seseorang yang akan dikirim ke dunia untuk memberikan peringatan kepada dunia bahwa hari ini akan datang.

Simak Maleakhi 4:5-6, ayat-ayat berikutnya,“⁵Lihatlah, Aku akan mengutus kepadamu…” siapa? “…nabi Elia sebelum datangnya hari TUHAN yang besar dan mengerikan itu…”  Apa “hari Tuhan yang besar dan mengerikan” ini? Peristiwa apa itu? Itu Kedatangan Kedua Kristus, benar? Jadi apakah Allah berjanji untuk mengirim Elia sebelum hari Tuhan yang besar dan mengerikan itu? Ya. Apakah itu Elia literal, satu individu? Tidak, tidak mungkin. Satu individu tidak bisa mengingatkan seluruh dunia. Jadi dikatakan,  “…⁵ Lihatlah, Aku akan mengutus kepadamu nabi Elia sebelum datangnya hari TUHAN yang besar dan mengerikan itu…”  Allah mengirim Elia untuk apa?   “…⁶ Dan ia akan membuat hati bapak-bapak berbalik kepada anak-anaknya, dan hati anak-anak kepada bapak-bapaknya, supaya jangan Aku datang dan memukul bumi dengan sebuah kutukan.”

Jadi apakah kita bisa berharap adanya Elia akhir zaman yang akan memberi peringatan kepada dunia sebelum pemusnahan datang? Tentu saja. Jadi apakah akan ada Elia akhir zaman? Ya.

 

 

Do you know why there is going to be an end time Elijah? Because there is going to be an end time Jezebel. She is going to resurrect her power from her sickbed, from her deathbed, and she never appears alone, she always appears in bad company, she always appears with the kings of the earth, represented by Ahab; she appears with the false prophets, which represent the false prophet of Revelation, the daughters of the Harlot, if you please. This system is having, even as I speak, a resurrection.

 

Tahukah kalian mengapa akan ada Elia akhir zaman? Karena akan ada Izebel akhir zaman. Kekuasaan Izebel akan bangkit dari ranjang sakitnya, dari ranjang kematiannya, dan dia tidak pernah muncul sendirian, dia selalu muncul bersama teman-temannya yang jahat, dia selalu muncul bersama raja-raja bumi ~ yang dilambangkan oleh Ahab ~ dia muncul dengan nabi-nabi palsu ~ yang melambangkan nabi-nabi palsu Wahyu yaitu anak-anak perempuan si Pelacur, katakanlah begitu. Sementara saya berbicara sekarang sistem ini sedang mengalami suatu kebangkitan.

 

 

Let's read about it in Revelation 17:1-5, here is the final Jezebel. “¹Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, ‘Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters…” So once again you have the Harlot, “…² with whom the kings of the earth committed…” what?  “…fornication…” see this is the same story of the Old Testament,   “…and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.’…” that's her false doctrines and practices.  “…³ So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet Beast…” the scarlet Beast represents the civil powers of the world,  “…which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns…” Now how is this woman clothed?  “…⁴ The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet…” what are the prime colors of the Roman Catholic papacy? Purple and scarlet, never blue because blue represents the Law of God. You'll never find them with blue, it's always purple and scarlet. Is the Roman Catholic papacy a very rich system in gold, silver, and precious stones? Absolutely, it says,  “…⁴ The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication…” that's her wine, her false doctrines.  “…⁵ And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER…” so is she going to have daughters at the end? Yes.  “…THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE  ABOMINATIONS OF  THE EARTH...”  and then verse 6 says, “…⁶ I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints…” is that true of Jezebel? Yes, “…and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.”

 

Mari kita  baca tentang ini di Wahyu 17:1-5, inilah Izebel yang terakhir. “¹ Lalu datanglah seorang dari ketujuh malaikat, yang membawa ketujuh cawan itu dan berkata kepadaku: ‘Mari ke sini, aku akan menunjukkan kepadamu keputusan (hukuman) atas Pelacur besar, yang duduk di atas banyak air…”  Jadi sekali lagi ada perempuan Pelacur,   “…² Dengan dia raja-raja di bumi telah berbuat…” apa? “…zinah…” lihat, ini adalah kisah yang sama dari Perjanjian Lama, “…dan penghuni-penghuni bumi telah dibuat mabuk oleh anggur perzinahannya.’…”  ini doktrin-doktrin dan praktek-praktek palsunya.  “…³ Dalam roh aku dibawanya ke padang gurun. Dan aku melihat seorang perempuan duduk di atas seekor Binatang merah darah…” Binatang berwarna merah darah ini melambangkan kekuasaan sipil dunia   “…yang penuh dengan nama-nama hujat. Binatang itu mempunyai tujuh kepala dan sepuluh tanduk…”  Sekarang bagaimana pakaian perempuan ini? “…⁴ Dan perempuan itu memakai kain ungu dan kain kirmizi…” apa warna utama Kepausan Roma Katolik? Ungu dan merah darah, tidak pernah biru karena biru melambangkan Hukum Allah. Kita tidak akan melihat mereka dalam warna biru, tapi selalu ungu dan merah darah. Apakah Kepausan Roma Katolik suatu sistem yang sangat kaya dalam emas, perak, dan batu-batu permata? Betul sekali. Dikatakan, “…⁴ Dan perempuan itu memakai kain ungu dan kain kirmizi yang dihiasi dengan emas, permata dan mutiara, dan di tangannya ada sebuah cawan emas penuh dengan segala kekejian dan kenajisan perzinahannya…”  itulah anggurnya, doktrin-doktrin palsunya. “…⁵ Dan pada dahinya tertulis suatu nama: ‘MISTERI, BABEL BESAR, IBU…” jadi apakah dia akan punya anak-anak perempuan pada akhirnya? Ya. “…IBU DARI WANITA-WANITA PELACUR, DAN DARI  KEKEJIAN-KEKEJIAN BUMI.’…”  Lalu ayat 6 berkata, “…⁶  Dan aku melihat perempuan itu mabuk oleh darah orang-orang kudus…”  apakah Izebel seperti ini? Ya. “…dan darah martir-martir Yesus. Dan ketika aku melihatnya, aku terkesima dengan keheranan yang besar.”

 

 

Is the story of Elijah going to be repeated on a global scale at the end of time? Yes, because it says the Harlot sits on many waters and the many waters are multitudes, nations, tongues, and peoples. Through the kings of the earth she will control everyone on the planet except a faithful remnant. You see, Revelation 12:17 tells us that there will be a faithful remnant after the 1260 years, they will restore the commandments of God, they will restore true worship, they will rebuke the fornication that is being committed, they will restore the sanctuary truth, etc. etc. Let's read about it in Revelation 14:6-12. Do you know what is found in Revelation 14:6-12? It's called The Three Angels’ Messages, it is the final Elijah message that will be proclaimed to the entire world. Notice verse 6, “⁶ Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people…” see the Harlot sits on every nation, tribe, tongue, and people, so God is going to raise up a people that will proclaim the message to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people,  “… ⁷ saying with a loud voice, ‘Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come…” that's the Most Holy place, the judgment takes place in the Most Holy place. And then it says,  “…and worship Him…” are they going to restore true worship? Yes, “…worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.’…” and now comes the Second Angel.  “…⁸ And another angel followed, saying, ‘Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.’…” is the Second Angel’s Message going to rebuke the fornication of the Harlot, of Babylon? Yes. What about the Third Angel, is the Third Angel going to restore true worship and warn people not to receive the mark of the Beast, which is the observance of the day of the sun? Yes. It says in verse 9, “…⁹ Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, ‘If anyone worships the Beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, ¹⁰ he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. ¹¹ And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the Beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.’…” Are they going to restore the Ten Commandments? Notice verse 12, “…¹² Here is the patience of the saints…”  that means endurance, the persistence, “…¹² Here is the patience of the saints, here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.”

 

Apakah kisah Elia akan diulangi lagi dalam skala global pada akhir zaman? Ya, karena dikatakan si perempuan Pelacur duduk di atas banyak air, dan banyak air adalah orang banyak, bangsa-bangsa, bahasa-bahasa, dan kaum-kaum. Melalui raja-raja bumi, perempuan Pelacur itu akan mengendalikan semua orang di planet bumi kecuali umat sisa yang setia. Kalian lihat, Wahyu 12:17 mengatakan kepada kita bahwa akan ada sekelompok umat sisa setelah masa 1260 tahun itu, dan mereka akan memulihkan Perintah-perintah Allah, mereka akan memulihkan ibadah yang benar, mereka akan menegur perzinahan yang sedang terjadi, mereka akan memulihkan kebenaran Bait Suci, dll. dll. Mari kita lihat itu di Wahyu 14:6-12. Tahukah kalian apa yang ada di Wahyu 14:6-12? Itulah yang disebut Pekabaran Tiga Malaikat. Itulah pekabaran terakhir Elia yang akan disampaikan ke seluruh dunia. Simak ayat 6, “⁶ Dan aku melihat seorang malaikat lain terbang di tengah-tengah langit dan padanya ada Injil yang kekal untuk diberitakannya kepada mereka yang diam di atas bumi, kepada semua bangsa dan suku dan bahasa dan kaum…”  lihat, perempuan Pelacur itu duduk di atas semua bangsa, suku, bahasa, dan kaum, jadi Allah akan membangkitkan suatu umat yang akan memproklamasikan pekabaran itu kepada setiap bangsa, suku, bahasa, dan kaum,   “…⁷dan ia berseru dengan suara nyaring: ‘Takutlah akan Allah dan muliakanlah Dia, karena telah tiba saat penghakiman-Nya…”  ini di bilik Mahakudus, penghakiman terjadi di bilik Mahakudus. Kemudian dikatakan, “…dan sembahlah Dia…” apakah mereka akan memulihkan ibadah yang benar? Ya. “…sembahlah Dia yang telah menjadikan langit dan bumi dan laut dan semua mata air.’…”  Dan sekarang muncul Malaikat Kedua. “…⁸ Dan seorang malaikat lain, mengikuti  dan berkata: ‘Sudah roboh, sudah roboh Babel, kota besar itu, karena dia telah membuat segala bangsa minum dari anggur murka zinahnya.’…”  apakah pekabaran Malaikat Kedua akan menegur perzinahan perempuan Pelacur itu, Babilon? Ya. Bagaimana dengan Malaikat Ketiga, apakah Malaikat Ketiga akan memulihkan ibadah yang benar dan memperingatkan orang-orang supaya jangan menerima tanda Binatang yang adalah ibadah pada hari Minggu? Ya, dikatakan di ayat 9, “…⁹ Dan seorang malaikat lain, malaikat ketiga, mengikuti mereka, dan berkata dengan suara nyaring: ‘Jikalau seorang menyembah Binatang dan patungnya itu, dan menerima tanda pada dahinya atau pada tangannya, ¹⁰     maka ia sendiri akan minum dari anggur murka Allah, yang dicurahkan dengan seluruh kekuatannya ke dalam cawan murka-Nya; dan ia akan disiksa dengan api dan belerang di depan mata malaikat-malaikat kudus dan di depan mata Anak Domba. ¹¹ Maka asap api yang menyiksa mereka itu naik ke atas sampai selama-lamanya, dan siang malam mereka tidak memperoleh istirahat, yaitu mereka yang menyembah Binatang serta patungnya itu, dan barangsiapa yang telah menerima tanda namanya…” Apakah mereka akan memulihkan Kesepuluh Perintah Allah? Simak ayat 12, “…¹² Di sinilah keuletan orang-orang kudus…”  ini artinya daya tahan, tidak menyerah, “…¹² Di sinilah keuletan orang-orang kudus,  inilah mereka yang memelihara perintah-perintah Allah dan imannya Yesus.”

 

 

Is this the last Elijah message? Do you have all of the elements of the message of Elijah? Absolutely. Does God have a remnant church that is proclaiming this message? There's only one church in the world that says: Our mission is to take The Three Angels’ Messages to the world. Only the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Other churches say, well, we are here to preach the gospel of Jesus, you know, Jesus died for our sins, you know we're here to have everybody come in and be singing in the Spirit and talking language that nobody can understand, you know they have all kinds of missions. But there's only one church in the world, I can assure you, that has the message that Elijah proclaimed, and that is the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and I don't say it arrogantly, but I do say it truthfully.

 

Apakah ini pekabaran Elia yang terakhir? Apakah di sini terdapat semua elemen dari pekabaran Elia? Tepat sekali. Apakah Allah memiliki satu gereja umat yang sisa yang memproklamasikan pekabaran ini? Hanya ada satu gereja di seluruh dunia yang mengatakan: Misi kami ialah untuk menyampaikan Pekabaran Tiga Malaikat kepada dunia. Hanya Gereja Masehi Advent Hari Ketujuh. Tetapi hanya ada satu gereja di dunia, saya jamin itu, yang memiliki pekabaran yang diproklamasikan Elia, dan itu ialah Gereja MAHK, dan saya tidak mengatakannya dengan angkuh, tetapi saya mengatakannya dengan sejujurnya.

 

 

Now let's talk about the exhortation that Christ gave to the church of Thyatira. Revelation 2:24. “²⁴ Now to you I say, and to the rest…” the remnant  “…in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden. ²⁵ But hold fast what you have till I come…” Hang on, don't let the message go, don't think that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, because they have better programming, they have better children's programs, they have better music, I get more excited, no, no, no, it's the message that should make you decide which church you belong to.

 

Sekarang mari kita bicara tentang nasihat yang diberikan Kristus kepada gereja Tiatira. Wahyu 2:24, “²⁴ Sekarang kepada kamu, Aku berkata, dan kepada yang lain…”  umat yang tersisa “…di Tiatira, seberapa banyak yang tidak memiliki doktrin itu, yang tidak mengenal seluk-beluk Iblis seperti kata mereka, Aku tidak akan menanggungkan beban lain kepadamu. ²⁵      Tetapi peganglah erat-erat apa yang ada padamu, sampai Aku datang…”  Pegang erat-erat, jangan lepaskan pekabaran itu, jangan berpikir rumput di seberang pagar itu lebih hijau karena mereka punya program yang lebih bagus, mereka punya acara anak-anak yang lebih menarik, mereka punya musik yang lebih enak, saya lebih bersemangat di situ, tidak, tidak, tidak, pekabarannya itulah yang harus menjadi tolok ukur keputusan kalian untuk mengikuti gereja yang mana.

 

 

Now the promised reward: power over the nations. What did the nations do with God's people during the 1260 years? What are they going to do with God's people at the end of time? The Harlot is going to use the nations of the world to oppress God's people. Is Jesus going to rectify that? Notice the promise in Revelation 2:26, “…²⁶ And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations…” They will no longer be subject to the oppression of the nations.  “…I will give power over the nations…” And then it speaks about Jesus,  “…²⁷ ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; they shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’— as I also have received from My Father…”  by the way if you go to Daniel 7, Jesus receives the Kingdom from His Father, this is a reference to Daniel 7. Let me ask you, did the Little Horn persecute God's people and kill God's people? Yes. Was there any justice in that? No, the bad people won and the good people lost. So what justice is there in that? Is Jesus who sees all, going to rectify that? Does He have everything written in His books? Is He going to dash in pieces the oppressors and reward His people? Absolutely.

 

Sekarang pahala yang dijanjikan: kuasa atas bangsa-bangsa. Apa yang dilakukan bangsa-bangsa kepada umat Allah selama 1260 tahun itu? Apa yang akan mereka lakukan pada umat Allah pada akhir zaman? Perempuan Pelacur itu akan memakai bangsa-bangsa dunia untuk menindas umat Allah. Apakah Yesus akan mengoreksi itu? Simak janji yang ada di Wahyu 2:26, “²⁶ Dan barangsiapa menang dan melakukan pekerjaan-Ku sampai kesudahannya, kepadanya akan Kukaruniakan kuasa atas bangsa-bangsa…” Mereka tidak lagi akan ditindas bangsa-bangsa, “…akan Kukaruniakan kuasa atas bangsa-bangsa…” Lalu ini bicara tentang Yesus, “…²⁷ Ia akan memerintah mereka dengan tongkat besi; mereka akan dibanting pecah berkeping-keping seperti bejana tukang periuk ~ sama seperti Aku pun telah menerimanya dari Bapa-Ku…”  nah, jika kita ke Daniel 7 di sana dikatakan Yesus menerima kerajaan dari BapaNya, ini mengacu kepada Daniel 7. Coba saya tanya apakah Tanduk Kecil mempersekusi umat Allah dan membunuh umat Allah? Ya. Apakah itu adil? Tidak, orang jahat menang dan orang baik kalah, di mana keadilannya? Apakah Yesus yang melihat segalanya, akan memperbaiki itu? Apakah Dia memiliki semuanya tercatat di kitab-kitabNya? Apakah Dia akan membanting para penindas sampai pecah berkeping-keping dan memberi pahala kepada umatNya? Tentu saja.

 

 

Final point, the morning star. Thyatira is given the morning star, who is the morning star? Well, Revelation 2:28 says, “…²⁸ and I will give him the morning star…” The morning star according to Revelation 22:16 is Jesus Christ, Jesus is the morning star. Also 2 Peter 1:19. “¹⁹ And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.”

So Jesus is the morning star.

 

Poin terakhir, bintang fajar. Kepada Tiatira diberikan bintang fajar. Siapa bintang fajar ini? Nah, Wahyu 2:28 berkata, “²⁸ dan kepadanya akan Kukaruniakan bintang timur (fajar)…” Bintang fajar menurut Wahyu 22:16 adalah Yesus Kristus, Yesus-lah bintang fajar itu. Juga di 2 Petrus 1:19, “¹⁹ Dengan demikian, kami memiliki kata-kata nubuat yang pasti, yang bagus jika kamu turuti sebagai terang yang bercahaya di tempat yang gelap sampai fajar menyingsing dan bintang timur/bintang fajar terbit di dalam hatimu.”

Jadi Yesus itulah bintang fajar/bintang timur.

 

 

Notice Letter 115, 1905. “He is the bright and morning star, shining amid the moral darkness of this sinful, corrupt world. He is the Light of the world, and all who give their hearts to Him will find peace, rest, and joy.”

Jesus is the morning star. The morning star by the way is the sun. Is the sun a star? Yes, the sun is a star, the sun is the morning star.

Now Ellen White, however, has some interesting explanations. She says that John Wycliffe was the morning star. He was before the Protestant Reformation he brought light, the light that would bring about the Protestant Reformation. She says in Great Controversy page 80, “In  the  fourteenth  century  arose  in  England  the  ‘morning  star  of  the  Reformation’.  John Wycliffe was the herald of reform, not for England alone, but for all Christendom. The great protest against Rome which it was permitted him to utter was never to be silenced. That protest opened the struggle which was to result in the emancipation of individuals, of churches, and of nations.”

So you say, “How can the morning star be Jesus, and how can the morning star be John Wycliffe?”

 

Simak Letter 115, 1905,  “…Dialah bintang fajar yang terang, bersinar di tengah kegelapan moral dunia yang berdosa dan rusak ini. Dialah Terang dunia, dan semua yang memberikan hatinya kepadaNya akan mendapatkan damai, perhentian, dan sukacita.”  

Yesus adalah bintang fajar. Ketahuilah bintang fajar itu matahari. Apakah matahari itu sebuah bintang? Ya, matahari itu sebuah bintang, matahari itu bintang fajar.

Nah, tetapi Ellen White punya penjelasan yang menarik. Ellen White mengatakan John Wycliffe itu bintang fajar. Dia hidup sebelum Reformasi Protestan, dia yang membawa terang, terang yang melahirkan Reformasi Protestan. Kata Ellen White di Great Controversy hal. 80, “…Di abad ke-14 di Inggris muncul ‘bintang fajar Reformasi’. John Wycliffe adalah yang menyerukan ide reformasi, bukan hanya bagi Inggris tetapi bagi seluruh dunia Kristen.  Dia diizinkan untuk membuat protes besar terhadap Roma, protes yang tidak pernah bisa dibungkam lagi. Protes tersebut membuka pergumulan yang menghasilkan kemerdekaan bagi manusia, bagi gereja-gereja, dan bagi bangsa-bangsa.”

Maka kalian berkata, “Bagaimana bintang fajar itu Yesus, tapi bintang fajar itu John Wycliffe?”

 

 

It's very simple. Let's compare the sun with the moon and we've done this before. The sun has original light, it does not receive light from anyone, of course God is the ultimate sustainer, but it has its own light. But when the sun shines on the moon, the moon reflects the light of the sun to the earth. And so, Jesus was the light that shone on Wycliffe and Wycliffe received the light from Jesus, and he preached that light, he projected that light to everyone that he would come in contact with, and therefore he translated the Scriptures of the New Testament into English. And so, Ellen White states, and you can read this ~ we don't have time ~ in the devotional book This Day with God, that we catch the beams of the light from Jesus, and we project those beams to those who surround us.

“Every true believer catches the beams from the Morning Star and transmits the light to those who sit in darkness. Not only do they shine amid the darkness of their own neighborhood, but as a church they shine  forth  to  regions  beyond. The  Lord expects every man  to do  his  duty. Everyone who unites with the church is to be one with Christ to diffuse the beams of the Morning Star, and becoming the light of the world, Christ and His people are to be copartners in the great work of saving the world.”

May God help us to be that faithful remnant.

 

Sangat sederhana. Mari kita bandingkan matahari dengan bulan, dan kita sudah pernah melakukan ini sebelumnya. Matahari memiliki terang asli, dia tidak menerima terang dari sumber lain, tentu saja Allah adalah Sumber tertinggi, tetapi matahari itu memiliki terangnya sendiri. Ketika matahari menyinari bulan, bulan memantulkan terang matahari ke bumi. Maka Yesus adalah Terang yang menyinari Wycliffe, dan Wycliffe menerima terang dari Yesus, dan dia mengkhotbahkan terang itu, dia memproyeksikan terang itu kepada semua orang yang berinteraksi dengannya, maka dia menerjemahkan Kitab Suci Perjanjian Baru ke dalam bahasa Inggris.

Jadi Ellen White mengatakan ~ dan kalian bisa membacanya sendiri, kita tidak punya waktu ~ di buku devosi This Day with God, bahwa kita menangkap pancaran sinar Terang dari Yesus, dan kita memproyeksikan pancaran-pancaran itu kepada mereka yang ada di sekitar kita.

“…Setiap orang yang benar-benar beriman, menangkap pancaran terang dari Bintang Fajar dan meneruskan terang itu kepada orang-orang yang berada dalam kegelapan. Mereka bukan hanya bersinar di tengah kegelapan lingkungan mereka sendiri, tetapi sebagai gereja mereka bersinar keluar ke daerah-daerah di luar itu. Tuhan menginginkan setiap orang melakukan kewajibannya. Setiap orang yang bergabung dengan gereja harus menjadi satu dengan Kristus, untuk menyebarkan pancaran terang Bintang Fajar, dan menjadi terang dunia. Kristus dan umatNya harus menjadi rekan sekerja dalam pekerjaan besar menyelamatkan dunia.” (Manuscript 51, Nov. 14, 1894.  This Day with God, p.327.)
