Welcome back to our last session today. What we're going to do now is study lesson #33. You know we've been jumping from here, there, and everywhere in the study notes. But we're going to take a look at the lesson titled “ ‘It is finished’ Seven Times” and this is on page 437 of your study notes, 437. In our study today we will see that the word “finished” marks seven successive events in the history of the world from Creation to the new Creation, each use of the word “finished” is closely related with the Sanctuary, and also each use of the word “finished” is related to the Sabbath commandment.

 

Selamat datang kembali ke sesi terakhir kita hari ini. Apa yang akan kita lakukan sekarang ialah mempelajari pelajaran #33. Selama ini kita sudah melompat ke sana, melompat ke sini, melompat ke mana-mana di makalah kita. Tetapi sekarang kita akan menyimak pelajaran berjudul “‘Sudah selesai’ Tujuh Kali” dan ini ada di hal. 437 di makalah kalian. Di pembahasan kita hari ini kita akan melihat kata “selesai” menandai tujuh peristiwa berurutan  dalam sejarah dunia mulai dari Penciptaan hingga ke Penciptaan Baru. Setiap pemakaian kata “selesai” sangat dekat kaitannya dengan Bait Suci, dan setiap pemakaian kata “selesai” juga terkait kepada Perintah Sabat.

 

 

Now first of all we need to look at some context. Let's begin with an event that occurred in the Most Holy place of the Heavenly Sanctuary before Creation week. There, according to Ezekiel 28:14 Lucifer was a covering cherub, and he abided in the inner sanctum of God. He was beautiful, wise, rich, and popular. And the corruption of these qualities of his beauty, wisdom, riches, and popularity, led to his downfall. There was one straw that broke the camel's back: God's Creation plan.

Let's read about it in Early Writings page 145. “Satan was once an honored angel in heaven, next to Christ. His countenance, like those of the other angels, was mild and expressive of happiness. His forehead was high and broad, showing great intelligence. His form was perfect; his bearing noble and majestic.  But...” and by the way, for no reason at all, we can't give a reason why a perfect being decided to exercise his freedom of choice to choose evil. The origin of sin is a mystery.  “..but when God said to His Son, ‘Let us make man in our image,’...” so the Father was speaking to the Son, according to Genesis 1:26, “...Satan was jealous of Jesus. He wished to be consulted concerning the  formation of man, and because He was not, He was filled with envy, jealousy, and hatred. He desired to receive the highest honors in heaven next to God.” So the sin of the universe originated in the Most Holy place in heaven, because he was a covering cherub next to the to the Ark of God.

 

Nah, pertama-tama kita perlu menyimak ke beberapa konteksnya. Mari kita mulai dengan suatu peristiwa yang terjadi di Bilik Mahakudus di Bait Suci surgawi sebelum minggu Penciptaan. Di sana, menurut Yehezkiel 28:14 Lucifer, adalah kerub penudung, yang tinggal di tempat yang paling kudus dari Bait Suci Allah. Dia indah, penuh hikmat, kaya, dan terkenal. Dan rusaknya kualitas-kualitas keindahan, hikmat, kekayaan, dan ketenarannya ini, mengakibatkan kejatuhannya. Jerami terakhir yang mematahkan punggungnya ialah: rencana Penciptaan Allah.

Mari kita baca tentang hal ini di Early Writings hal. 145, “…Setan dulunya adalah malaikat yang dihormati di Surga, setelah Kristus. Wajahnya, seperti malaikat-malaikat yang lain, lemah lembut dan mengekspresikan kebahagiaan. Dahinya tinggi dan lebar, menunjukkan inteligensianya. Bentuknya sempurna, pembawaannya mulia dan anggun. Tetapi…”  dan ketahuilah, tidak ada alasan apa pun, kita tidak bisa memberikan alasan mengapa makhluk yang sempurna mengambil keputusan untuk memakai kebebasannya memilih untuk memilih kejahatan. Asal usul dosa itu adalah suatu misteri.  “…Tetapi ketika Allah berkata kepada AnakNya, ‘Marilah Kita membuat manusia dalam keserupaan Kita,’ (Kejadian 1:26)…”  jadi Bapa bicara kepada AnakNya, menurut Kejadian 1:26, “…Setan iri hati kepada Yesus. Dia ingin dimintai pendapatnya mengenai pembuatan manusia, dan karena dia tidak, dia dipenuhi oleh dengki, iri hati, dan kebencian. Dia mendambakan penghormatan tertinggi di Surga setelah Allah…”

Maka dosa alam semesta berasal dari Bilik Mahakudus di Surga, karena Setan adalah kerub penudung di samping Tabut Perjanjian Allah.

 

 

Now in spite of the fact that Lucifer rebelled against God and was jealous of Jesus, God could have chosen to abort the plan of creating man, but He didn't. He decided to go forward with the plan of creating this world and creating man on it. Now we already noticed this, that the condition of the earth before the week of Creation was chaotic. The Earth was without form, void, and darkness was on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. So He had to resolve these issues. By the way, it was also lifeless.

 

Nah, walaupun faktanya Lucifer memberontak terhadap Allah dan iri hati pada Yesus, Allah bisa saja memilih untuk membatalkan rencana menciptakan manusia, namun Dia tidak. Allah memutuskan untuk melanjutkan rencana menciptakan dunia ini dan menciptakan manusia di sana. Nah, kita sudah menyimak ini, bahwa kondisi bumi sebelum minggu Penciptaan itu berantakan. Bumi tanpa bentuk, kosong, dan kegelapan ada di atas permukaan air yang dalam, dan Roh Allah berhenti di atas permukaan air-air. Maka Allah harus menyelesaikan isu-isu ini. Nah, di bumi juga tidak ada kehidupan.

 

 

And so we know, notice in our  previous study that Jesus decided to work for six days to create everything in this world. We need to underline that Jesus was the One who worked. Man did not work. Jesus did all the work. We find that in Genesis 1:31, “³¹ Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”

 

Maka kita tahu, simak di pelajaran kita sebelumnya, Yesus memutuskan untuk bekerja selama enam hari untuk menciptakan segala sesuatu di dunia ini. Perlu kita garisbawahi bahwa Yesus-lah yang bekerja, manusia tidak bekerja. Yesus yang mengerjakan semuanya. Kita menemukan itu di Kejadian 1:31, “³¹ Maka Allah melihat segala yang telah dijadikan-Nya itu, dan sungguh itu amat baik. Maka petang itu dan pagi itu adalah hari keenam.”

 

 

So Jesus worked, not man. So Jesus finished His work the sixth day, according to Genesis 2:1,  “¹ Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were...” what? There's the key word “…were finished”.   

 

Jadi Yesus yang bekerja, bukan manusia. Maka Yesus menyelesaikan pekerjaanNya pada hari keenam, menurut Kejadian 2:1, “¹ Demikianlah langit dan bumi dan segala isinya…”  apa? Ini kata kuncinya, “…sudah selesai.”

 

 

The first “It is finished”

So what is the first use of the word “finished”? It's after Jesus concludes His work on Creation weak. And then what did Jesus do? He worked six, finished His work on the sixth, and in the seventh day He rested or ceased from working. Notice Genesis 2:2, “ ² And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.” Somehow I get kind of the impression that all the work was done by Him and that He was the One who rested, correct? Did you notice the number of times on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done? “He rested… from all His work which He had done” so who did all the work? Jesus. Who rested? Jesus.

 

“Sudah selesai” yang pertama

Jadi apakah pemakaian pertama kata “selesai”? Itu setelah Yesus menyelesaikan pekerjaanNya saat minggu Penciptaan. Lalu apa yang dilakukan Yesus? Dia telah bekerja enam hari, menyelesaikan pekerjaanNya pada hari keenam, dan pada hari ketujuh Dia beristirahat atau berhenti dari bekerja. Simak Kejadian 2:2, “² Dan pada hari ketujuh Allah telah mengakhiri pekerjaanNya yang telah dibuatNya, dan  Ia berhenti pada hari ketujuh dari segala pekerjaan yang telah dibuat-Nya itu.”

Saya mendapat kesan bahwa semua pekerjaan dilakukan oleh Yesus, dan bahwa Dialah yang beristirahat, benar? Apakah kalian menyimak berapa kali pada hari ketujuh Allah mengakhiri pekerjaanNya yang telah Dia lakukan? “Ia berhenti ... dari segala pekerjaan yang telah dibuat-Nya itu.” Jadi siapa yang melakukan semua pekerjaan? Yesus. Siapa yang beristirahat? Yesus.

 

 

Now let's read about what Jesus did when He finished His six days of work. God looked with satisfaction upon the work of His hands, all was perfect, worthy of its Divine author. And He rested not as One weary, but as well pleased with the fruits of His wisdom and goodness, and the manifestations of His glory. So what did Jesus do on the seventh day? He admired His work, He looked with satisfaction upon His work. In other words, He ceased from working and He enjoyed His work, if you please. Did God rest by Himself? Did Jesus rest by Himself? No! He invited Adam and Eve to rest with Him.

You say, “How do we know that?”

Well, Mark 2:27 tells us, “²⁷ And He said to them, ‘The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.’…” So God invited Adam and Eve to rest with Him, to enjoy the works of His hands.

 

Nah, mari kita baca tentang apa yang dilakukan Yesus ketika Dia menyelesaikan pekerjaanNya yang enam hari. Allah memandang dengan rasa puas ke pekerjaan tanganNya, semuanya sempurna, layak sebagai ciptaan Ilahi. Dan Dia beristirahat bukan sebagai Sosok yang kelelahan, melainkan sebagai sangat berkenan dengan buah-buah dari hikmat dan kebaikanNya,  dan manifestasi dari kemuliaanNya. Jadi apa yang dilakukan Yesus pada hari ketujuh? Dia mengagumi pekerjaanNya, katakanlah, Dia memandang dengan penuh rasa puas pada pekerjaanNya. Dengan kata lain Dia berhenti bekerja dan menikmati hasil pekerjaanNya. Apakah Allah beristirahat sendirian? Apakah Yesus beristirahat sendirian? Tidak! Dia mengundang Adam dan Hawa untuk beristirahat bersamaNya.

Kalian berkata, “Dari mana kita tahu itu?”

Nah, Markus 2:27 memberitahu kita, “²⁷ Dan Yesus berkata kepada mereka,  ‘Hari Sabat dibuat untuk manusia dan bukan manusia untuk hari Sabat.’ …”  Maka Allah mengundang Adam dan Hawa untuk beristirahat bersamaNya, untuk menikmati hasil karya tanganNya.  

 

 

That's what we find in Patriarchs and Prophets page 48.  “God saw that a Sabbath was essential for man, even in Paradise. He needed to lay aside his own interests and pursuits for one day of the seven, that he might more fully contemplate the works of God and meditate upon His power and goodness. He needed  a  Sabbath  to   remind  him  more vividly  of God  and  to awaken gratitude because all that he enjoyed and possessed came from the  beneficent hand of the Creator.”

 

Itulah yang kita temukan di Patriarchs and Prophets hal. 48, “…Allah melihat bahwa Sabat penting bagi manusia, walaupun di Taman Firdaus. Manusia perlu mengesampingkan minat dan kepentingannya sendiri selama satu hari dari ketujuh hari itu, supaya dia bisa lebih penuh mengkontemplasi pekerjaan Allah dan merenungkan kekuasaan serta kebaikanNya. Dia membutuhkan sebuah Sabat untuk mengingatkan dia lebih jelas lagi tentang Allah dan untuk membangkitkan rasa terima kasihnya karena semua yang dimiliki dan dinikmatinya berasal dari tangan Sang Pencipta yang murah hati.”

 

 

So when Jesus rested on the seventh day, were Adam and Eve working on the seventh day while Jesus rested? No! They entered into His rest. You see, Jesus could rest because He worked, but Adam and Eve had not worked so they couldn't rest. Rest from what? They entered God's rest, and they enjoyed what Jesus had done, not what they had done. And so Jesus then makes the Sabbath holy. The day passes, He has rested, relished His work. Adam and Eve did not work, that day they ceased, and they rested with Him. And then when the day ended Jesus made the day holy.

Notice Exodus 20:8-11, “⁸ Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. ⁹ Six days you shall labor and do all your work, ¹⁰ but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates...” Now, why does God say, “Work six and rest the seventh”? Here's the explanation. “...¹¹ For...” that means, because “...in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day...”  therefore He rested the seventh day.  “...Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.” When did Jesus bless and hallow or sanctify the holy Sabbath, was it when the seventh day began, or was it when the seventh day ended? When the seventh day ended. So the Sabbath became holy when it ended, after Jesus rested the whole day. He says, “Now this day is holy.”

 

Jadi ketika Yesus beristirahat pada hari ketujuh, apakah Adam dan Hawa bekerja pada hari ketujuh sementara Yesus beristirahat? Tidak! Mereka masuk ke perhentianNya. Kalian lihat, Yesus boleh beristirahat karena Dia sudah bekerja, tetapi Adam dan Hawa belum bekerja, jadi mereka tidak bisa beristirahat. Beristirahat dari apa? Mereka memasuki perhentian (istirahat) Allah, dan mereka menikmati apa yang telah dibuat Yesus, bukan apa yang telah mereka buat. Maka Yesus menjadikan Sabat itu kudus. Hari itu berlalu, Yesus sudah beristirahat, menikmati pekerjaanNya. Adam dan Hawa tidak bekerja, hari itu mereka berhenti dan mereka beristirahat bersama Yesus. Kemudian ketika hari itu berakhir, Yesus membuat hari itu kudus.

Simak Keluaran 20:8-11, “⁸ Ingatlah hari Sabat, untuk dipelihara kekudusannya. ⁹ Enam hari lamanya engkau harus bekerja dan melakukan segala pekerjaanmu,  ¹⁰ tetapi hari ketujuh adalah hari Sabat TUHAN, Allahmu;  pada hari itu engkau tidak akan melakukan pekerjaan apa pun, engkau atau anakmu laki-laki, atau anakmu perempuan, atau hambamu laki-laki, atau hambamu perempuan, atau hewanmu atau orang asing yang di dalam pintu gerbangmu…”  Nah, mengapa Allah berkata, “Bekerja enam hari dan berhenti hari ketujuh”? Ini penjelasannya.  “…¹¹ Sebab dalam enam hari TUHAN menjadikan langit dan bumi, laut dan segala isinya, dan telah berhenti bekerja pada hari ketujuh…”  itulah mengapa Dia beristirahat pada hari ketujuh. “…Itulah sebabnya TUHAN memberkati hari Sabat dan menguduskannya…” Kapan Yesus memberkati dan menguduskan Sabat yang kudus, apakah ketika hari yang ketujuh itu dimulai, atau apakah ketika hari ketujuh itu berakhir? Ketika hari ketujuh itu berakhir. Maka Sabat menjadi kudus ketika hari itu berakhir, setelah Yesus beristirahat satu hari penuh. Dia berkata, “Sekarang hari ini kudus.”

 

 

And so what does Jesus do? He's just created the week because He worked six days and He ceased, or rest, on the seventh day. Now the week is complete. So then He takes the week and He gives it to whom? He takes the week and He gives the week to Adam and Eve. So let me ask you this then. Do Adam and Eve do the same thing the second week that God did the first week? Yeah, they worked six and then they rested the following seventh day.

 

Jadi apa yang dilakukan Yesus? Dia baru saja menciptakan satu minggu karena Dia telah bekerja enam hari dan Dia berhenti, atau beristirahat, pada hari ketujuh. Sekarang minggu itu sudah lengkap. Maka Dia sekarang mengambil minggu itu dan Dia memberikannya kepada siapa? Dia mengambil minggu itu dan Dia memberikannya kepada Adam dan Hawa. Jadi coba saya tanya, apakah pada minggu kedua Adam dan Hawa melakukan yang  sama yang dilakukan Allah pada minggu pertama? Iya, mereka sudah bekerja enam hari kemudian mereka beristirahat pada hari ketujuh berikutnya.

 

 

So the Fourth Commandment ~ and when I say this, you know, people are just surprised ~ the Sabbath commandment applies to Adam and Eve beginning with the second week of human history. The Sabbath, the first Sabbath does not apply to Adam and Eve. God does not say to them, rest on on the Sabbath. And the reason is very simple because they hadn't worked, they couldn't rest from their work. Only Jesus could rest from His work. And so then after Jesus worked six, rested the seventh, then He takes the week and He gives it to Adam and Eve, and He says, “Okay, now this week is for you, like everything else that I made. This week is for you. So now you're going to work day 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and the next Sabbath you are going to do what you saw Me do the first Sabbath.”

So the Fourth Commandment applies to Adam and Eve beginning in the second week because they could rest; because the second week they had worked six. Are you with me or not?

 

Maka Perintah Keempat ~ dan ketika saya mengatakan ini, orang-orang heran ~ Perintah hari Sabat berlaku bagi Adam dan Hawa mulai minggu kedua dari sejarah manusia. Sabat yang pertama tidak berlaku bagi Adam dan Hawa. Allah tidak berkata kepada mereka, berhentilah pada hari Sabat. Dan alasannya sangat sederhana, karena mereka belum bekerja, mereka tidak bisa beristirahat dari pekerjaan mereka. Hanya Yesus yang bisa beristirahat dari pekerjaanNya. Maka setelah Yesus bekerja enam hari, beristirahat pada hari ketujuh, lalu Dia mengambil minggu itu dan Dia berikan itu kepada Adam dan Hawa dan Dia berkata, “Oke, nah, sekarang minggu ini untuk kamu, seperti segala sesuatu yang telah Aku ciptakan. Minggu ini untukmu. Jadi sekarang kamu akan bekerja hari ke-1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, dan Sabat berikutnya kamu akan melakukan apa yang kamu lihat Aku lakukan di Sabat yang pertama.”

Maka Perintah Keempat diberlakukan kepada Adam dan Hawa mulai di minggu kedua karena mereka bisa beristirahat karena di minggu kedua mereka sudah bekerja enam hari. Apakah kalian mengikuti saya atau tidak?

 

 

Now we read this statement before in Patriarchs and Prophets page 111, why were they supposed to rest on the seventh day, it says, “The first six days of each week are given to man for labor, because God employed the same period of the first week in the work of creation. On the seventh day man is to refrain from labor, in  commemoration of the  Creator's rest.”

So when we keep the Sabbath, whose rest are we commemorating? His rest. The Sabbath is not about our rest, it's about entering His rest.

 

Nah, kita sudah membaca pernyataan ini sebelumnya di Patriarchs and Prophets hal.111, mengapa mereka diharuskan beristirahat pada hari ketujuh. Dikatakan, “…Enam hari pertama dari setiap minggu diberikan kepada manusia untuk bekerja karena Allah menggunakan waktu yang sama dari minggu yang pertama dalam pekerjaan mencipta. Pada hari ketujuh, manusia harus berhenti dari bekerja, untuk memperingati perhentian Sang Pencipta.”

Jadi bila kita memelihara Sabat, perhentian siapa yang kita peringati? PerhentianNya. Sabat itu bukan perhentian kita, itu mengenai masuk ke perhentianNya.

 

 

Does Satan love the Sabbath? Why does Satan hate the Sabbath? Because the Sabbath reminds us of his arch Enemy. Who was he jealous of? Jesus, and it involved directly Creation. So do you think that he would hate the Sabbath because it points to Jesus the Creator? Most certainly. You want to know how much Satan hates the Sabbath? I've made a list here of the way that he's tried to demean the Sabbath, because it reminds us of Jesus every week that we keep, every week that passes, and when we rest on the seventh day we are glorifying the Creator, Jesus Christ, we are exalting Jesus Christ and Satan hates Jesus, so he's got to get rid of the sign or the reminder of Jesus. And by the way that's why he institutes Sunday, because Sunday brings glory to him.

 

Apakah Setan mencintai Sabat? Mengapa Setan membenci Sabat? Karena Sabat mengingatkan kita kepada Musuh besarnya. Dia iri hati kepada siapa? Yesus, dan itu melibatkan langsung Penciptaan. Menurut kalian apakah Setan membenci Sabat karena itu menunjuk kepada Yesus, Sang Pencipta? Tentu saja. Kalian ingin tahu seberapa besar kebencian Setan pada Sabat? Saya telah membuat sebuah daftar cara-cara yang dipakai Setan untuk berusaha merendahkan Sabat, karena itu mengingatkan kita kepada Yesus. Setiap Sabat yang kita pelihara, setiap minggu yang lewat. Dan ketika kita berhenti pada hari ketujuh kita memuliakan Sang Pencipta, Yesus Kristus. Kita meninggikan Yesus Kristus dan Setan membenci Yesus, maka dia harus menyingkirkan tanda pengingat Yesus. Dan ketahuilah, itulah mengapa dia melembagakan hari Minggu, karena hari Minggu memberi dirinya kemuliaan.

 

 

Now how does Satan show his disgust for the Sabbath? You have at the top of page 440 the ways he does it,

·       In paganism worship, the sun was worshiped on the venerable day of the sun, on the first day of the week.

·       Is the Sabbath demeaned in the promotion of the theory of evolution?

The Sabbath is obliterated by the theory of evolution, because if the world came into existence by evolution, there is no such thing as a 7-day week where God worked six and rested on the seventh. And virtually the whole world believes In the Evolutionary theory.

·       He also demeaned the Sabbath by leading the religious leaders in His day when He came to the earth, to make out of the Sabbath a burdensome day of restrictions.

In the Christian world today, they see the Sabbath as a burden, because they're looking at it the way that the religious leaders in Christ's day looked at the Sabbath.

·       In the course of Christian history, you look at Christian history, the Sabbath was pushed lower and lower, and Sunday was pushed higher and higher.

·       And then he leads the papacy to think that it could change God's Law by saying that Sunday is the day that we're supposed to keep.

·       And he has convinced Protestantism that that is the true day of worship.

·       And at the end he is going to get the religious powers to unite with the political powers of the world to give a death decree against those who don't keep it.

 

Nah, bagaimana Setan menunjukkan kebenciannya pada Sabat? Ada di bagian atas hal. 440, bagaimana cara Setan melakukannya.

·       Di penyembahan paganisme, matahari disembah pada hari matahari yang dihormati, pada hari pertama setiap minggu.

·       Apakah Sabat direndahkan melalui promosi teori Evolusi?

Sabat sama sekali dilenyapkan oleh teori Evousi karena jika dunia eksis oleh evolusi maka tidak ada mingguan 7 hari di mana Allah bekerja 6 hari dan berhenti pada hari ketujuh. Dan nyaris seluruh dunia mempercayai teori Evolusi.

·       Dia juga merendahkan Sabat dengan membawa para pemimpin rohani di zaman Kristus ketika Dia datang hidup di dunia untuk menjadikan Sabat hari yang memberatkan penuh larangan.

Di dunia Kristen hari ini mereka melihat Sabat sebagai beban, karena mereka memandangnya seperti cara para pemimpin rohani di zaman Kristus memandang Sabat.

·       Sepanjang sejarah Kekristenan, jika kita memandang sejarah Kekristenan, Sabat dipendam semakin ke bawah, dan hari Minggu ditinggikan semakin tinggi.

·       Kemudian dia membawa Kepausan untuk berpikir mereka bisa mengubah Hukum Allah dengan mengatakan hari Minggu adalah hari yang harus kita pelihara.

·       Dan dia telah meyakinkan Protestantisme bahwa hari Minggu itulah hari ibadah yang benar.

·       Dan pada akhirnya dia akan membuat kekuasaan relijius bersatu dengan kekuasaan politik dunia untuk mengeluarkan titah hukuman mati bagi mereka yang tidak memelihara hari Minggu.

 

 

Why would the Devil through all these methods make it a top priority to demean and abolish the Sabbath? Because the Sabbath reminds us of the Creator, his Enemy, the One whom he was envious of, because the Father consulted Him, His Son, and did not consult Lucifer.

 

Mengapa Iblis mau memakai semua cara ini untuk menjadikan prioritasnya yang utama merendahkan dan menghapuskan Sabat? Karena Sabat mengingatkan kita kepada Sang Pencipta, Musuhnya, kepada siapa dia memendam iri hati karena Bapa berkonsultasi dengan Dia, AnakNya, dan tidak dengan Lucifer.

 

 

Now what was life like in the Garden of Eden before sin? There was no curse, there was no pain, there was no sorrow, there was no crying, there was no death. There were no cherubim to bar the entrance to the Garden, to eat from the Tree of Life. They had free access to the Tree of Life.  In fact, they had face-to-face communion with their Creator. Ellen White wrote, “The mysteries of the visible universe—the ‘wondrous works of Him which is perfect in knowledge’ (Job 37:16)—invited man's study. Face-to-face, heart-to-heart communion with his Maker was his high privilege. Had he remained loyal to God, all this would have been his forever.” (True Eduction p. 10)

 

Nah, bagaimanakah bentuk kehidupan di Taman Eden sebelum dosa? Tidak ada kutuk, tidak ada sakit, tidak ada susah, tidak ada air mata, tidak ada kematian. Tidak ada kerubim yang memblokir jalan masuk ke Taman Eden untuk makan dari Pohon Kehidupan. Mereka punya akses bebas ke Pohon Kehidupan. Bahkan mereka bisa berkomunikasi berhadapan muka dengan Pencipta mereka.

Ellen White menulis, “…Misteri dari alam semesta yang tampak – ‘pekerjaan-pekerjaanNya yang mengagumkan yang sempurna dalam pengetahuan’ (Ayub 37:16) – mengundang untuk dipelajari manusia. Komunikasi berhadapan muka, dari hati ke hati dengan Penciptanya adalah hak istimewanya yang tinggi. Andaikan dia tetap setia kepada Allah,  semua ini merupakan miliknya untuk selamanya.”(True Education hal. 10) 

 

 

So here you have the first ”It is finished”  in the Garden of Eden. By the way the word “finished” is used twice there in Genesis 1:31 and also chapter 2:1.  Go there for a moment with me, Genesis chapter 1, and we are going to read verse 31 and then chapter 2:1. And let me just make this explanation. Clearly the first verse of chapter 2 belongs as the conclusion of chapter 1. The chapter division is in the wrong place.

You say, “Well, how do you know that?”

Well, let's read 1:31 and connect it with 2:1, you tell me if  the flow is natural. It says there in chapter 1 ~  by the way we're not changing the Bible, because the Bible did not have chapters and verses of the original authors.  Chapters, verses were added later for our convenience of finding things in the Bible. So it says in Genesis 1:31, “³¹ Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.’...” and then notice chapter 2:1, “¹ Thus...” what does “thus” indicate? Does it connect with the previous verse? Yes.  “...¹ Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished.” What day did He finish? The sixth. But now we got a problem. Look at the next verse, “... ² And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done...”  By the way, even though it's translated “ended” it's the identical word כָּלָה [kâlâh] “finished” in Hebrew,  so in other words, verse 2 says, “... ² And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done...” So how do we understand that? Can you finish something twice? He finished the sixth, and He finished on the seventh day?

 

Jadi di sini kita bertemu “Sudah selesai” yang pertama, di Taman Eden. Nah, kata “selesai” itu dipakai dua kali di Kejadian 1:31 dan juga di pasal 2:1. Mari ke sana sejenak bersama saya, Kejadian pasal 1, dan kita akan membaca ayat 31 lalu pasal 2:1. Dan saya akan memberikan penjelasan ini. Jelas ayat 1 pasal 2 adalah konklusi dari pasal 1. Pembagian pasalnya tidak tepat.

Kalian berkata, “Dari mana kita tahu itu?”

Nah, mari kita baca pasal 1:31 dan menghubungkannya dengan pasal 2:1, dan silakan kalian mengatakan kepada saya apakah alurnya tidak wajar. Dikatakan di sana, di pasal 1 ~ nah, kita tidak mengubah Alkitab karena Alkitab aslinya tidak ada pembagian pasal dan ayat oleh penulis aslinya. Pasal, ayat, semua ditambahkan belakangan demi kemudahan kita mencari apa-apa di Alkitab.

Jadi dikatakan di Kejadian 1:31, “³¹ Lalu Allah melihat segala yang dijadikan-Nya itu, dan benar, itu amat baik. Maka petang itu dan pagi itu, adalah hari keenam…”  lalu simak pasal 2:1, “…¹ Dengan demikian…” apa yang diindikasikan oleh “dengan demikian”? Apakah itu menghubungkan dengan ayat sebelumnya? Ya. “…¹ Dengan demikian langit dan bumi dan segala isinya sudah selesai…” Hari apa Dia selesai? Hari keenam. Tetapi sekarang kita punya masalah. Lihat ayat berikutnya, “...² Dan pada hari ketujuh Allah telah mengakhiri pekerjaanNya yang telah dibuatNya…” Nah, walaupun ini diterjemahkan “mengakhiri”, itu adalah kata yang sama כָּלָה [kâlâh] “selesai” dalam bahasa Ibrani, maka dengan kata lain, ayat 2 berkata,  “…² Dan pada hari ketujuh Allah telah mengakhiri pekerjaanNya yang telah dibuatNya…” Jadi bagaimana kita bisa memahami ini? Bisakah kita menyelesaikan sesuatu dua kali? Allah menyelesaikannya pada hari keenam, dan Dia menyelesaikannya pada hari ketujuh?

 

 

Can we finish something twice? In this case, Yes. And I've used this illustration before.

I want you to imagine an artist who is painting a beautiful scenery of nature. First day, you know, he prepares the wood frame and the canvas, and he puts the staples in. He's going to start the work. And he adds some colors in the background. And after he works the first day, steps back and says, “Ah it's good.” The second day, you know he paints a blue sky, you know, with  some  clouds, and then he steps back after his work the second day, and he says, “Hmm  it's looking good.” The third day he paints some trees, and some beautiful flowers, and some green grass, and he finishes his work the third day, and he looks he says, “It's good.” The fourth day he puts a sun in the sky, you know, some days you see the moon kind of opaque in the sky too, so he puts the sun there, and he puts a  moon, and after the fourth day he steps back and he says, “It's good.” The fifth day he paints some birds sitting in the trees, and some birds flying through the air, and some fish jumping out of the waters and he looks and he says, “It's good.” The sixth day he makes by the way, he makes animals, giraffes, elephants, cows, all different kinds of land animals, and then he creates a man and a woman, who are standing in the middle of this majestic scene of nature. He adds the final touches to the canvas, and he says, “It is very good.” Is he finished? I said, he gave the final touches to the canvas, is he finished? Yes and No! He finished the beautiful scenery on the canvas, what is missing? The signature that identifies who painted that work of art because if he doesn't put his name on it, anybody can come and claim it.

The first six days of Creation week, Jesus painted a world in living color that changes at every instant. And on the seventh day He signed His work “God”, by creating the Sabbath. And so is it correct to say that He finished the sixth day and He finished the seventh day? Yes, because on the seventh day He puts His signature to His work of art, so that everybody remembers that He is the One who made this world and everything in it. So Satan hates the Sabbath because it points to the Creator, and he's going to do everything possible to get rid of the Sabbath. That's the first “It is finished” when He finished His work of Creation.

 

Bisakah kita menyelesaikan sesuatu dua kali? Dalam kasus ini, iya. Dan saya sudah pernah menggunakan ilustrasi ini.

Saya mau kalian membayangkan seorang pelukis yang sedang melukis suatu pemandangan alam yang indah. Pada hari pertama dia menyiapkan kerangka kayunya dan kanvasnya, dan dia memasangnya. Dia akan mulai bekerja. Dan dia menambahkan beberapa warna di latar belakang. Dan setelah dia bekerja hari pertama itu, dia melangkah ke belakang dan berkata, “Ah, bagus.” Hari kedua dia menggambar langit biru, dengan beberapa awan. Kemudian dia mengambil langkah ke belakang setelah pekerjaannya pada hari kedua dan dia berkata,”Hmm, tampaknya bagus.” Hari ketiga dia melukis beberapa pohon, bunga-bunga indah, dan rerumputan hijau. Dan dia menyelesaikan pekerjaannya di hari ketiga itu dan dia melihatnya dan berkata, “Bagus.” Hari keempat dia melukis matahari di langit, dan kadang-kadang kita bisa melihat bulan yang pucat di langit juga, maka dia melukis matahari di sana dan dia melukis bulan, dan setelah hari keempat dia mengambil langkah mundur dan berkata, “Bagus.” Hari kelima dia melukis beberapa burung yang bertengger di pohon-pohon, dan beberapa burung terbang di udara, dan beberapa ikan berlompatan keluar dari air, dan dia memandangnya dan dia berkata, “Bagus.” Hari keenam dia membuat hewan-hewan, jerapah, gajah, lembu, segala jenis hewan darat, kemudian dia membuat seorang laki-laki dan seorang perempuan yang berdiri di tengah-tengah adegan alam yang anggun. Dia menambahkan sentuhan-sentuhan terakhir ke kanvas dan dia berkata, “Ini amat bagus.” Apakah dia sudah selesai? Saya tadi mengatakan dia membuat sentuhan terakhir di kanvas. Apakah dia sudah selesai? Ya dan Tidak! Dia sudah menyelesaikan pemandangan yang indah di atas kanvas, apa yang kurang? Tandatangan yang mengidentifikasi siapa yang membuat karya seni itu karena  jika dia tidak mencantumkan namanya, siapa pun bisa datang dan mengklaim karya itu.

Enam hari yang pertama dari minggu Penciptaan, Yesus melukis sebuah dunia dalam warna-warna yang hidup yang bisa berubah setiap saat. Dan pada hari ketujuh, Dia menandatangani karyanya “Allah” dengan menciptakan Sabat. Maka apakah benar mengatakan bahwa Dia selesai pada hari keenam dan Dia selesai pada hari ketujuh? Ya, karena  pada hari ketujuh Dia mencantumkan tandatanganNya ke karya seni itu, sehingga semua orang ingat bahwa Dialah yang telah menciptakan dunia ini dan segala isinya.

Jadi, Setan membenci Sabat karena itu menunjuk ke Sang Pencipta, dan dia akan melakukan apa saja yang bisa untuk menyingkirkan Sabat. Itulah “Sudah selesai” yang pertama, ketika Allah menyelesaikan pekerjaan PenciptaanNya.

 

 

The second “It is finished”

Now let's go to the second “It is finished”.  By sin the life of human beings were cast into disorder, emptiness, darkness, and the prospect of death. This was the spiritual reversal of the literal Creation. Now the curse came in, pain came in, sorrow came in, crying came in. Cherubim barred the entrance to the Garden, they barred the way to the Tree of Life. They no longer had face to face communion with the Creator, but Jesus promised Adam through the spotless life and death of Christ that there would be a restoration. Let's read this passage.

 

“Sudah selesai” yang kedua

Sekarang mari kita ke “Sudah selesai” yang kedua. Melalui dosa, hidup manusia dicampakkan ke kondisi yang berantakan, kehampaan, kegelapan, dan prospek kematian. Ini adalah pembalikan spiritual dari Penciptaan literal. Sekarang masuklah kutuk, masuklah sakit, masuklah duka, masuklah tangisan. Kerub-kerub memblokir jalan masuk ke Taman Eden, mereka menghalangi akses ke Pohon Kehidupan. Manusia tidak lagi bisa berkomunikasi berhadapan muka dengan Sang Pencipta. Tetapi Yesus berjanji kepada Adam, melalui kehidupan Kristus yang tidak bernoda, dan kematianNya, akan ada pemulihan. Mari kita baca itu.

 

 

By the way, at this point we're at the altar of sacrifice, okay? We're at the altar of sacrifice in the Sanctuary. It says there, Patriarchs and Prophets page 68, “To Adam, the offering of the first sacrifice was a most painful ceremony. His hand must be raised to take life, which only God could give. It was the first time he had ever witnessed death, and he knew that had he been obedient to God, there would have been no death of man or beast. As he slew the innocent victim...” see, this is at the altar of sacrifice, in the Sanctuary, “...he  trembled at the thought that his sin must  shed the blood of the spotless Lamb of God. This scene gave him a deeper and more vivid sense of the greatness of his transgression, which nothing but the death of God's dear Son could expiate. And he marveled at the infinite goodness that would give such a ransom to save the guilty. A  star of hope illumined the dark and terrible future and relieved it of its utter desolation.”

So what did Jesus come to this world for? To spiritually fill the lives of those who accept Him with order, light, life, and purpose.

Notice what Jesus came to do according to John 4:34, “³⁴ Jesus said to them, ‘My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to...” here's the key word  “..and to...”  what? “...finish His work.” Jesus came to finish His work.

 

Nah, di titik ini kita berada di mezbah kurban, oke?  Posisi kita di mezbah kurban di Bait Suci. Dikatakan di sana, Patriarchs and Prophets hal. 68, “…Bagi Adam, persembahan kurban yang pertama adalah upacara yang paling menyakitkan. Tangannya harus diangkat untuk mengambil nyawa, yang hanya bisa diberikan oleh Allah. Itu adalah pertama kalinya dia pernah menyaksikan kematian, dan dia tahu bahwa seandainya dia patuh kepada Allah, tidak akan ada kematian manusia maupun binatang. Ketika dia menyembelih kurban yang tidak bersalah itu…”  lihat, ini di mezbah kurban di Bait Suci, “…dia gemetar memikirkan bahwa dosanya harus mencurahkan darah Domba Allah yang tidak bercela. Adegan ini memberinya pengertian yang lebih mendalam dan lebih nyata akan parahnya pelanggarannya, yang hanya bisa ditebus oleh kematian Anak Allah yang terkasih. Dan dia terkagum pada kebaikan yang tidak terbatas yang akan memberikan tebusan seperti itu untuk menyelamatkan yang berdosa. Secercah sinar harapan menerangi kegelapan masa depan yang mengerikan, dan mengangkatnya dari kehancurannya yang total…”

Jadi untuk apa Yesus datang ke dunia ini? Untuk secara spiritual mengisi hidup mereka yang menerimaNya dengan ketertiban, terang, hidup, dan tujuan.

Simak Yesus datang untuk melakukan apa menurut Yohanes 4:34, “³⁴ Kata Yesus kepada mereka, ‘Makanan-Ku ialah melakukan kehendak Dia yang mengutus Aku dan untuk…”  ini kata kuncinya, “…dan untuk menyelesaikan pekerjaan-Nya…” Yesus datang untuk menyelesaikan pekerjaanNya.

 

 

On the way to Gethsemane according to John 17:4 once again we find the word “finished”. But now Jesus is about to suffer in the Garden of Gethsemane, and now He's going to say that He has finished the work of the Father. It says there, Jesus praying to His Father, “ ⁴ I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.” And then on the cross of Calvary, this is at the altar of sacrifice which represents the cross of Christ, on the sixth day of the week, very important, Jesus cried out to His Father what? “It is finished”.  This is the second  “It is finished”  of history, “…and bowing His head He gave up His Spirit…”(Yohanes 19:30)  to whom was Jesus speaking when He said, “It is finished”?  He was speaking to His Father.

 

Dalam perjalanan ke Getsemani, menurut Yohanes 17:4 sekali lagi kita temukan kata “selesai”. Tetapi sekarang Yesus akan menjalani sengsara di Taman Getsemani, dan sekarang Dia akan berkata bahwa Dia sudah menyelesaikan pekerjaan Bapa. Dikatakan di sana, Yesus berdoa kepada BapaNya, “⁴ Aku telah mempermuliakan Engkau di bumi. Aku telah menyelesaikan pekerjaan yang Engkau berikan kepada-Ku untuk Kulakukan…”  Kemudian di salib Kalvari, ini adalah di mezbah kurban yang melambangkan salib Kristus, pada hari keenam dari minggu itu, sangat penting, Yesus berseru kepada Bapanya, apa?   “Sudah selesai.” Ini adalah “Sudah selesai” kedua dalam sejarah, “…³⁰ Lalu dengan  menundukkan kepala-Nya, Ia menyerahkan nyawa-Nya.” (Yohanes 19:30). Kepada siapa Yesus bicara ketika Dia mengatakan “Sudah selesai”? Dia bicara kepada BapaNya.

 

 

In fact, the last three declarations of Jesus on the cross, He's speaking to His Father. Notice this statement from Desire of Ages page 834, “...when upon the cross He cried out, ‘It is finished,’ He  addressed the Father. The compact had been fully carried out.”

 

Faktanya, tiga deklarasi terakhir dari Yesus di atas salib, Dia berbicara kepada BapaNya. Simak pernyataan ini dari Desire of Ages hal. 834, “...Ketika di atas salib Dia berseru, ‘Sudah selesai’, Dia bicara kepada Bapa. Kesepakatan itu telah diselesaikan dengan tuntas.”

 

 

Now what did Jesus have to do when He came to this earth? He had to do two things.

1.    First of all He had to live a perfect sinless life and weave a robe with which He could cover our nakedness,

2.    and secondly He had to bear upon Himself our sins.

So He had to live a perfect life, and He had to bear the burden of sin. Did Jesus do that when He said “It is finished”  on the cross, had He done that? Yes. He had finished the reason why He had come to this earth, to live a perfect life; and to suffer death for sin.

 

Nah, apa yang harus dilakukan Yesus ketika Dia datang ke dunia ini? Dia harus melakukan dua hal.

1.    Pertama Dia harus menghidupkan kehidupan yang sempurna tanpa dosa dan merajut jubah dengan mana Dia bisa menutupi ketelanjangan kita,

2.    dan kedua Dia harus menanggung sendiri dosa-dosa kita.

Jadi Dia harus menghidupkan kehidupan yang sempurna dan Dia harus menanggung beban dosa. Apakah Yesus sudah melakukan itu ketika Dia berkata, “Sudah selesai” di salib? Sudahkah Dia melakukan itu? Ya. Dia sudah menyelesaikan alasannya mengapa Dia datang ke dunia ini, untuk menghidupkan kehidupan yang sempurna dan untuk menjalani kematian bagi dosa.

 

 

By the way Redemption is a new Creation. Notice 2 Corinthians 5:17, “ ¹⁷ Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a...” what?  “...a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become...” what?  “...have become new.” So Redemption is Recreation.

 

Nah, Penebusan adalah Penciptaan Baru. Simak 2 Korintus 5:17, “¹⁷ Jadi jika seseorang ada di dalam Kristus, ia adalah…” apa? “…ciptaan baru: yang lama sudah berlalu; lihatlah, semuanya telah menjadi…”  apa? “…telah menjadi baru…” Jadi Penebusan adalah Penciptaan Ulang.

 

 

And then Jesus, the sixth day after He says “It is finished” what does He do? He rests. On which day? The seventh day. So at the beginning: finished, rest. On the cross:  “It is finished”,  on the seventh day, rest.

 

Kemudian Yesus, pada hari keenam setelah Dia berkata, “Sudah selesai”, apa yang Dia lakukan? Dia beristirahat. Pada hari yang mana? Hari ketujuh. Jadi pada awalnya: selesai, istirahat. Di salib: “Sudah selesai”, pada hari ketujuh, istirahat.

 

 

Notice Acts 2:25 to 27, “ ²⁵ For David says concerning Him: ‘I foresaw the Lord always before My face, for He is at My right hand, that I may not be shaken. ²⁶ Therefore My heart rejoiced, and My tongue was glad; moreover My flesh also will...”  what? What does He say?  “…My flesh also will...” what?  “...will rest in hope.’...” So did the flesh of Jesus rest in the tomb after He said, ”It is finished”?  What day is He resting? The seventh day from His work of redemption, which is a new Creation. “…²⁷ For You will not leave My soul in Hades...” actually the NIV has a better translation: “you will not not leave Me in the grave” nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.”

 

Simak Kisah 2:25-27, “²⁵ Karena Daud berkata tentang Dia, ‘Aku senantiasa melihat Tuhan di hadapan wajahKu, karena  Ia ada di tangan kananKu, agar Aku tidak goyah. ²⁶ Itulah sebabnya hatiKu bersukacita dan lidahKu bergembira. TubuhKu juga akan…”  apa? Apa kataNya? “…Tubuhku juga akan…” apa?   “…akan beristirahat dalam harapan…”  jadi apakah tubuh Yesus beristirahat di dalam kubur setelah Dia berkata “Sudah selesai”? Hari apa Dia beristirahat itu? Hari ketujuh setelah pekerjaan penebusanNya, yang adalah Penciptaan Baru. “…²⁷ karena Engkau tidak akan meninggalkan Aku di kubur, maupun tidak akan membiarkan Orang Kudus-Mu melihat pembusukan.’...”

 

 

By the way did Jesus rest by Himself? At Creation did Jesus rest by Himself at Creation, or did He invite Adam and Eve to enter into His rest? He invited Adam and Eve to enter into His rest, they enjoyed the first Sabbath with God. It wasn't their rest, it was His because He was the One who worked.

Did Jesus rest alone in the grave, or did the disciples rest outside? Did the women rest? Did His people enter His rest? Yes. Notice Luke 23:54-56, “ ⁵⁴ That day was the Preparation, and the Sabbath drew near. ⁵⁵ And the women who had come with Him from Galilee followed after, and they observed the tomb and how His body was laid. ⁵⁶ Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.”  So did they rest with Him? Yes! What do you think their rest was like? They had restless rest. Were they happy on the Sabbath? They were miserable, sad, crying, their Master was dead. Was that God's plan? What would have happened if they had believed Jesus? Many times He said, particularly during the last six months of His work, He said, “I must go to Jerusalem, I'm going to be mistreated by the religious leaders, I'm going to be killed, and I'm going to resurrect the third day.” What would their rest have been like? They would have said, “The Master is resting in the tomb from His work of redemption, He has lived a perfect life, He has borne the load of sin. We can now be saved, Hallelujah. And tomorrow we're going to see Him.” Is that the way God wanted them to enjoy the rest? Of course. Later on they would understand, it was not God's plan that they’d be sad. It was God's plan that they’d be joyful on the Sabbath day, because Jesus had won a new Creation, as we read in 2 Corinthians 5:17.

 

Nah, apakah Yesus beristirahat sendirian? Saat Penciptaan, apakah Yesus beristirahat sendirian atau apakah Dia mengundang Adam dan Hawa untuk masuk ke perhentianNya? Dia mengundang Adam dan Hawa masuk ke perhentianNya, mereka menikmati Sabat yang pertama bersama Allah. Itu bukan perhentian mereka, itu perhentian Allah karena Dialah yang bekerja.

Apakah Yesus beristirahat sendirian di dalam kubur atau apakah para murid beristirahat di luar? Apakah para perempuan juga beristirahat? Apakah umatNya masuk ke perhentianNya? Ya. Simak Lukas 23:54-56, “⁵⁴ Dan hari itu adalah Hari Persiapan dan Sabat hampir mulai. ⁵⁵ Dan perempuan-perempuan yang datang bersama-sama dengan Yesus dari Galilea, ikut serta, dan mereka melihat kubur itu dan bagaimana jasad-Nya dibaringkan. ⁵⁶ Lalu mereka kembali dan menyediakan rempah-rempah dan minyak-minyak yang harum. Dan mereka beristirahat pada hari Sabat sesuai Perintah Tuhan.” Jadi apakah mereka beristirahat bersama Dia? Ya! Menurut kalian bagaimanakah istirahat mereka? Gelisah. Apakah mereka bersukacita pada hari Sabat? Mereka susah, sedih, menangis, Guru mereka mati. Apakah itu rencana Allah? Apa yang akan terjadi seandainya mereka percaya pada Yesus? Berulangkali Dia berkata, terutama selama enam bulan terakhir dari pelayananNya, Dia berkata, “Aku harus ke Yerusalem, Aku akan diperlakukan buruk oleh para pemimpin rohani, Aku akan dibunuh, dan Aku akan bangkit pada hari ketiga.” Bagaimana seharusnya istirahat mereka? Mereka seharusnya berkata, “Guru sedang beristirahat di dalam kubur dari pekerjaan penebusanNya. Dia telah menghidupkan kehidupan yang sempurna, Dia sudah menanggung beban dosa. Kita sekarang bisa diselamatkan, Halleluya. Dan besok kita akan melihat Dia.” Beginikah Tuhan ingin mereka menikmati istirahatnya? Tentu saja. Nanti mereka akan mengerti, bahwa bukan rencana Allah mereka bersedih. Rencana Allah ialah mereka bersukacita pada hari Sabat itu karena Yesus telah menang, Ciptaan Baru, sebagaimana kita baca di 2 Korintus 5:17.

 

 

The third “It is finished”

Now let's go to the third  “It is finished”.  This third  “It is finished”  is also in the court. The cross is represented by the altar in the court. When Jesus died on the cross not only He said, “It is finished”  but the Father in Heaven said, “It is finished”.  Notice what we find in The Youth Instructor June 21, 1900, “God bowed His head satisfied...” because Jesus had just said, “It is finished”.   “...Now justice and mercy could blend. Now He could be just and yet the Justifier of all who should believe on Christ. He...”  that is God the Father “...looked upon the Victim expiring on the cross, and  said,...”  what did the Father say? “...‘It is finished.’ The human race shall have another trial.’ The redemption price was paid, and Satan fell like lightning from heaven...”   that's Luke 10:18. So was Satan cast out of Heaven at the cross? You’d better believe it. As the representative of this world, and in the sympathies of the Heavenly beings.

Ellen White wrote in Desire of Ages that after the Heavenly beings saw the way that Satan treated Jesus in His trial and His crucifixion, any inkling of sympathy that they had with Satan was gone. He was cast out in their sympathies as well as the representative of this world.

 

“Sudah selesai” yang ketiga

Sekarang mari kita ke “Sudah selesai” yang ketiga. “Sudah selesai” yang ketiga ini juga terjadi di pelataran. Salib dilambangkan oleh mezbah kurban di pelataran. Ketika Yesus mati di salib, bukan hanya Dia yang berkata, “Sudah selesai”, tetapi Bapa di Surga berkata, “Sudah selesai”. Simak  apa yang kita lihat di The Youth Instructor, 21 Juni, 1900, “…Allah menundukkan kepalaNya dengan rasa puas…” karena Yesus baru saja berkata “Sudah selesai”, “…sekarang keadilan dan kemurahan bisa menyatu. Sekarang Dia bisa bersikap adil namun juga menjadi Pembenar semua yang akan mau mempercayai Kristus. Dia…”  yaitu Allah Bapa, “…melihat ke Korban yang mati di salib dan berkata…”  apa kata Bapa? “…’Sudah selesai. Bangsa manusia akan mendapat kesempatan penghakiman lain.’ Harga penebusan sudah dibayar, dan Setan jatuh seperti kilat dari Surga…” itu Lukas 10:18. Jadi apakah di salib Setan dilemparkan keluar dari Surga? Percayalah. Sebagai wakil dari dunia ini, dan dari simpati para makhluk surgawi. 

Ellen White menulis di Desire of Ages bahwa setelah makhluk-makhluk surgawi melihat cara Setan memperlakukan Yesus di pengadilan dan penyalibanNya, simpati apa pun yang tadinya mereka miliki untuk Setan, lenyap. Setan dilemparkan keluar dari simpati mereka dan juga sebagai wakil dari dunia ini.

 

 

The fourth “It is finished”

Now let's go to the fourth “It is finished”.  This happens in the Holy Place. See we're moving now, we're moving now through the Sanctuary. This happens in the Holy Place. Jesus ascended to Heaven into the Holy Place and presented Himself before His Father.

Let's read Revelation 5:11-12, “¹¹ Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, ¹² saying with a loud voice: ‘Worthy is the Lamb who was slain. To receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!’...” So Jesus arrives in Heaven at His Ascension, and the angels are singing this glorious song.

 

“Sudah selesai” yang keempat

Sekarang mari ke “Sudah selesai” yang keempat. Ini terjadi di Bilik Kudus. Lihat, kita sekarang bergerak, kita bergerak menurut pola Bait Suci. Ini terjadi di Bilik Kudus. Yesus naik ke Surga pergi ke Bilik Kudus dan mempresentasikan dirinya di hadapan BapaNya.

Mari kita baca Wahyu 5:11-12, “¹¹ Lalu aku melihat dan aku mendengar suara banyak malaikat di sekeliling takhta, makhluk-makhluk hidup dan tua-tua itu; dan jumlah mereka sepuluh ribu kali sepuluh ribu, dan beribu-rbu kali beribu-ribu, ¹² berkata dengan suara nyaring: ‘Layaklah Anak Domba yang telah disembelih itu untuk menerima kuasa, dan kekayaan, dan hikmat, dan kekuatan, dan hormat, dan kemuliaan, dan berkat! …”  Maka Yesus tiba di Surga saat KenaikanNya, dan para malaikat menyanyikan lagu indah ini.  

 

 

Now this is amplified by Ellen White in Desire of Ages. Notice Desire of Ages pg 833 and 834, here we find the fourth “It is finished”, “Then the portals...”  Jesus is ascending to Heaven, He enters through the gates  “...Then the portals of the city of God are opened wide, and the angelic throng sweep through the gates amid a burst of rapturous music. There is the throne, and around it the rainbow of promise. There are  cherubim and seraphim. The commanders of the angel hosts, the  sons of God, the representatives of the unfallen worlds, are assembled. The heavenly council before which Lucifer had accused God and His Son, the representatives of those sinless realms over which Satan had thought to establish his dominion—all are there to welcome the Redeemer...”  the whole universe is there to welcome Jesus back. “...They are eager to celebrate His triumph and to glorify their King...”  they're impatient this is holy impatience.  “... But  He waves them back. Not yet; He cannot now receive the coronet of glory and the royal robe. He  enters into the presence of His Father. He  points to His wounded head...”  that He's presenting Himself as a Lamb as though He had been slain. In Revelation 5. “...He  points to His wounded head, the pierced side, the marred feet; He lifts His hands, bearing the print of nails. He points to the tokens of His triumph; He presents to God the wave sheaf, those raised with Him as representatives of that great multitude who shall come forth from the grave at His second coming. He approaches the Father, with whom there  is joy over one sinner that repents; who rejoices over one with singing. Before the foundations of the earth were laid, the Father and the Son had  united in a covenant to redeem man if he should be overcome by Satan. They had clasped Their hands in a solemn pledge that Christ should become the  surety for the human race...” now listen to this, the fourth  “It is finished”  in the Holy Place. “...This pledge Christ has fulfilled. When upon the cross He cried out, ‘It is finished’, He addressed the Father. The compact had been fully carried out. Now He declares...”   this is in the Holy Place He's speaking to His Father,  “... Father, ‘it is finished’ (John 19:30). I have done Thy will, O My God. I have completed the work of redemption. If Thy justice is satisfied, ‘I will that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am.’ (John 17:24)...”

That is the fourth “It is finished”,  and basically Jesus says, “It is finished”, I finished winning the provision for salvation, so now I can intercede for My own, because I have a perfect life to impute to them, and I have a payment of sin that I've made. So now they can come to Me as their Intercessor and claim the benefits that I earned when I was on earth.”

 

Nah ini diperluas oleh Ellen White di Desire of Ages. Simak Desire of Ages hal. 833-834, di sini kita lihat “Sudah selesai” yang keempat. “...Kemudian portal-portal…” Yesus sedang naik ke Surga, Dia masuk melalui pintu-pintu gerbang,  “…Kemudian portal-portal Kota Allah dibuka lebar-lebar dan kumpulan besar malaikat masuk melalui gerbang-gerbang itu di tengah ledakan musik yang penuh gairah. Takhtanya ada di sana, dan mengelilinginya ialah pelangi perjanjian. Ada kerubim dan serafim. Para komandan balatentara surgawi, anak-anak Allah, wakil-wakil dari dunia-dunia yang tidak berdosa, berkumpul.  Dewan surgawi yang di hadapannya Lucifer pernah menggugat Allah dan AnakNya, wakil-wakil dari dunia-dunia yang tidak berdosa di atas mana tadinya Setan berharap bisa mendirikan kekuasaannya, semuanya ada di sana untuk menyambut Sang Penebus…”  seluruh alam semesta ada di sana untuk menyambut kedatangan Yesus kembali.  “…Mereka semuanya tidak sabar merayakan kemenanganNya dan memuliakan Raja mereka…”  mereka tidak sabar. Ini ketidaksabaran yang kudus. “…Tetapi, Dia memberikan tanda supaya mereka mundur. Belum! Sekarang Dia belum bisa menerima mahkota kemuliaan dan jubah kerajaan. Dia masuk ke hadirat BapaNya. Dia menunjuk ke luka di kepalaNya…” ini Dia mempresentasikan DiriNya sebagai Domba yang seolah telah disembelih di Wahyu pasal 5,   “…Dia menunjuk ke luka di kepalaNya, lambungnya yang pernah tertusuk, kakinya yang bernoda; Dia mengangkat tanganNya yang ada bekas luka pakunya. Dia menunjuk ke tanda-tanda kemenanganNya. Dia mempersembahkan kepada Allah berkas unjukan, mereka yang dibangkitkan bersamaNya sebagai wakil-wakil dari orang banyak yang akan keluar dari kubur pada waktu kedatanganNya yang kedua. Dia menghampiri Bapa yang padaNya ada sukacita jika ada satu orang berdosa yang bertobat, yang bersukacita atas satu orang dengan nyanyian. Sebelum landasan dunia diletakkan, Bapa dan Anak telah bersepakat dalam suatu perjanjian untuk menebus manusia seandainya Setan mengalahkan dia. Mereka telah berjabat tangan dalam sumpah yang sungguh-sungguh bahwa Kristus yang akan menjadi jaminan bagi umat manusia. …”  Sekarang dengarkan ini, “Sudah selesai” yang keempat di Bilik Kudus. “…Janji ini telah dipenuhi Kristus ketika di atas salib Dia berseru, ‘Sudah selesai’, Dia bicara kepada Bapa. Kesepakatan itu telah diselesaikan dengan tuntas. Sekarang Kristus menyatakan…” ini di Bilik Kudus, Dia berbicara kepada BapaNya,   “…‘Bapa, ‘sudah selesai’ (Yohanes 19:30), Aku telah melakukan kehendakMu, O, AllahKu, Aku telah menyelesaikan pekerjaan penebusan. Jika keadilanMu dipuaskan, ‘Aku mau supaya mereka juga yang telah Engkau berikan kepada-Ku, boleh bersama-sama dengan Aku di mana Aku berada’ (Yohanes 17:24)...”

Inilah “Sudah selesai” yang keempat. Dan pada dasarnya Yesus berkata, “Sudah selesai”. Aku sudah selesai memenangkan sarana untuk keselamatan. Jadi sekarang Aku bisa menjadi Perantara bagi milikKu sendiri, karena Aku punya hidup yang sempurna untuk diperhitungkan bagi mereka, dan Aku punya pelunasan untuk dosa yang telah Aku buat. Jadi sekarang mereka boleh datang kepadaKu sebagai Perantara mereka dan mengklaim manfaat-manfaat yang telah Aku peroleh ketika Aku hidup di bumi.”

 

 

By the way are we supposed to also rest with Him in the works of redemption? Notice Hebrews 4:9 and 10, “ ⁹ There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. ¹⁰ For he who has entered His rest...” by the way who did all the works of redemption? Did we do any of it? Who did? Jesus! So notice it says, “...¹⁰ For he who has entered...” whose rest?  “...His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.”

So in Redemption we rest on what He has done, in what He has done, not in what we have done, not by our works. It says we have ceased from our works, as He ceased from His at Creation.

 

Nah, apakah kita seharusnya juga berhenti bersama Dia dalam pekerjaan penebusan? Simak Ibrani 4:9-10, “⁹ Jadi oleh karena itu masih tersisa satu perhentian bagi umat Allah. ¹⁰ Karena dia yang telah masuk ke perhentian-Nya,…” nah, siapa yang mengerjakan semua pekerjaan penebusan? Apakah kita melakukan apa pun untuk itu? Siapa yang melakukannya? Yesus! Jadi simak, dikatakan, “…¹⁰ Karena dia yang telah masuk…” perhentian siapa? “…ke perhentian-Nya, ia sendiri telah berhenti dari pekerjaannya sendiri, sama seperti Allah berhenti dari pekerjaan-Nya.”

Maka di  Penebusan kita berhenti dalam apa yang telah Dia lakukan, bukan dalam apa yang telah kita lakukan, bukan karena perbuatan kita. Dikatakan kita telah berhenti dari pekerjaan kita, sebagaimana Dia telah berhenti dari pekerjaanNya saat Penciptaan.

 

 

Ellen White wrote in Manuscript 111 1897, “When He uttered the cry ‘It is finished,’ Christ knew that the battle was won. As a moral conqueror, He planted His banner on the eternal heights. Was there not joy among the angels? Not a son, not a daughter of Adam, but could now lay hold on the merits of the spotless Son of God, and say, Christ has died for me. He is my Savior.” (7ABC, p. 462).

 

Ellen White menulis di Manuscript 111, 1897,  “…Ketika Dia menyerukan teriakan ‘Sudah selesai’, Kristus tahu bahwa peperangan itu telah dimenangkan. Sebagai pemenang moral, Dia menancapkan panji-Nya di ketinggian yang abadi. Tidakkah ada sukacita di antara para malaikat? Tidak ada satu pun putra atau putri Adam yang sekarang tidak bisa menggapai jasa-jasa Anak Allah yang tidak bernoda dan berkata, Kristus sudah mati bagiku. Dialah Juruselamatku.” (7 ABC hal. 462)

 

 

By the way during this period when Jesus was in the Holy Place is the time when the Little Horn attempted to change the Sabbath. So notice, the Sanctuary and the Sabbath are involved. You know, most of the work that the Little Horn did was mess with Christ's intercessory ministry, but he even put his hand into the Most Holy place and attempted to change the Sabbath, from Sabbath to Sunday.

 

Nah, selama periode ketika Yesus ada di Bilik Mahakudus ini, itulah waktunya ketika Tanduk Kecil berusaha mengubah Sabat. Jadi simak, Bait Suci dan Sabat terlibat. Kalian tahu, kebanyakan pekerjaan yang dilakukan si Tanduk Kecil, ialah mengacau pelayanan perantaraan Kristus, tetapi dia bahkan memasukkan tangannya ke dalam Bilik Mahakudus dan berusaha mengubah Sabat, dari Sabat ke hari Minggu.

 

 

The fifth “It is finished”

Now let's go to the fifth “It is finished”. The focus here is on the Most Holy Place. See, we're moving,  the altar à the Holy Place à the Most Holy place.  And then of course we're going to move back to the camp again. Notice that the Little Horn during the 1260 years did its utmost to abolish the seventh day Sabbath. This sets the stage for the great final conflict on this earth. You know, we're not going to read Daniel 7:25, you know, this very well, it speaks about the Little Horn that attempted to change what? God's holy Law, the day of rest.

Let me ask you at the end of time are God's people going to denounce that change? Are they going to denounce the mark of the Beast? Because that's a change in the Sabbath, it's the enforcement of Sunday as the day of rest. Are God's people going to proclaim a return back to the Sabbath, which is in the Most Holy place inside the Ark? Yes. Revelation 14:6  and 7, “⁶ Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— ⁷ saying with a loud voice, ‘Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come...” and now notice,  “...and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.’...” Is this message going to polarize the world into two groups? The Loud Cry of Revelation 18 which is an intensification of this message, is going to polarize the world, so that everyone will receive either the Seal of God or the mark of the Beast. When the entire world has taken sides, God's voice will be heard from the Most Holy place of the Sanctuary. And what is God going to say?  “It is finished”. The Sanctuary service has closed, it's referring to the close of probation. He's going to say  “It is finished” when all cases are decided, when everyone has decided to observe Sabbath or to observe Sunday as the day of rest, He's going to say  “It is finished”,  probation will close and nobody will be able to enter into the Most Holy place, because there is no longer any intercessor for sin.

 

“Sudah selesai” yang kelima

Sekarang mari kita ke “Sudah selesai” yang kelima. Fokusnya di sini ada di Bilik Mahakudus. Lihat, kita bergerak, mezbah à Bilik Kudus à Bilik Mahakudus. Kemudian tentu saja kita akan kembali lagi ke pelataran. Simak, Tanduk Kecil ini selama 1260 tahun melakukan sebisa-bisanya untuk menghapus Sabat hari ketujuh. Ini mempersiapkan bagi konflik terakhir terbesar di dunia. Kalian tahu, kita tidak akan membaca Daniel 7:25, kalian sudah sangat kenal ayat ini. Ini bicara tentang si Tanduk Kecil berusaha mengubah apa? Hukum Allah yang suci, hari perhentian.

Coba saya tanya, pada akhir zaman apakah umat Allah akan menolak perubahan itu? Apakah mereka akan menolak tanda Binatang? Karena tanda Binatang itulah perubahan pada Sabat, memberlakukan hari Minggu sebagai hari perhentian. Apakah umat Allah akan menyerukan supaya kembali kepada Sabat, yang ada di dalam Bilik Mahakudus, di dalam Tabut Perjanjian? Ya. Wahyu 14:6-7, “⁶ Lalu aku melihat seorang malaikat lain terbang di tengah-tengah langit, dan padanya ada Injil yang kekal untuk diberitakan kepada mereka yang diam di atas bumi ~ kepada setiap bangsa dan suku dan bahasa dan kaum, ⁷ berseru dengan suara nyaring: ‘Takutlah akan Allah dan muliakanlah Dia, karena saat penghakiman-Nya telah tiba, dan sembahlah Dia yang telah menjadikan langit dan bumi dan laut dan semua mata air.’…”  Apakah pekabaran ini akan mempolarisasi dunia ke dalam dua kelompok? Seruan Nyaring Wahyu 18 yang merupakan intensifikasi pekabaran ini akan mempolarisasi dunia sehingga semua orang akan menerima Meterai Allah atau Tanda Binatang. Ketika seluruh dunia sudah membuat pilihannya, suara Allah akan terdengar dari Bilik Mahakudus Bait Suci. Dan Allah akan berkata apa? “Sudah selesai”. Pelayanan Bait Suci sudah tutup, ini mengacu kepada tutupnya pintu kasihan. Allah akan berkata   “Sudah selesai” ketika semua kasus sudah diputuskan, ketika semua orang sudah memutuskan untuk memelihara Sabat atau hari Minggu sebagai hari perhentian. Dia akan berkata, “Sudah selesai”, pintu kasihan akan menutup dan tidak ada orang yang bisa masuk ke dalam Bilik Mahakudus, karena tidak ada lagi perantaraan bagi dosa.

 

 

In fact notice Revelation 10:7, “ ⁷ but in the days of the sounding of the seventh Angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God...” by the way the mystery of God is the preaching of the Gospel. “...the mystery of God would be...” what?  “...would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.”

So what is going to be heard from the temple in the Most Holy place when probation closes?  “It is finished” The Most Holy Place ministry comes to an end.

 

Marilah simak Wahyu 10:7, “⁷ Tetapi pada zaman ditiupnya sangkakala Malaikat yang ketujuh, ketika Ia akan meniup sangkakalaNya, misteri Allah…”  nah misteri Allah ialah dikhotbahkannya Injil,  “…misteri Allah akan…”  apa?  “…akan selesai, seperti yang telah Ia beritakan kepada hamba-hamba-Nya, para nabi…” 

Jadi apa yang akan terdengar dari Bilik Mahakudus ketika pintu kasihan menutup?    “Sudah selesai”. Pelayanan Bilik Mahakudus berakhir.

 

 

Now I'm going to skip the two passages here because time is flying by. Revelation 22:10 to 13 and Revelation 15:5-8, you're all acquainted with that text that says “He who is filthy let him be filthy still, he who is holy let him be holy still, he who is unrighteous let him be unrighteous still, he who is righteous let him be righteous still” that's the close of probation, that's when God is going to say “It is finished”.  

 

Nah, saya akan melompati dua paragraf di sini karena waktunya melesat cepat. Wahyu 22:10-13 dan Wahyu 15:5-8. Kalian semua sudah tahu ayat yang mengatakan, “Dia yang najis, biarlah dia tetap najis, dia yang kudus biarlah dia tetap kudus, dia yang tidak benar biarlah dia tetap tidak benar, dan dia yang benar biarlah dia tetap benar”, itu adalah penutupan pintu kasihan. Itulah ketika Allah akan berkata “Sudah selesai”.

 

 

Now notice how Ellen White commented on this “It is finished”,  this is found in Early Writings page 279, “I saw angels hurrying to and fro in heaven. An angel with a writer's inkhorn by his side returned from the earth and reported to Jesus that his work was done, and the saints were numbered and sealed...” probation closes. “...Then I saw Jesus, who had been ministering before the ark containing the Ten Commandments, throw down the censer. He raised His hands, and with a loud voice said, ‘it is done.’...”  that's the close of Probation. “...And all the angelic host laid off their crowns as Jesus made the solemn declaration, ‘He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.’...”

 

Sekarang simak bagaimana Ellen White mengomentari “Sudah selesai” ini, ini ada di Early Writings hal. 279, “…Aku melihat malaikat-malaikat bergegas ke sana kemari di Surga. Satu malaikat dengan tempat tinta di sisinya kembali dari bumi dan melaporkan kepada Yesus bahwa pekerjaannya sudah selesai dan orang-orang kudus sudah dihitung dan dimeteraikan…”  pintu kasihan tutup. “…Lalu aku melihat Yesus yang  melayani di hadapan Tabut yang berisikan Kesepuluh Perintah melemparkan pedupaanNya. Dia mengangkat tangan-tanganNya dan dengan suara keras berkata, ‘Sudah selesai’…” inilah tutupnya pintu kasihan, “…dan semua bala tentara surgawi meletakkan mahkota mereka saat Yesus membuat pernyataan yang serius ini, ^‘11 Barangsiapa yang tidak benar, biarlah ia tetap tidak benar, barangsiapa yang cemar, biarlah ia tetap cemar; dan barangsiapa yang benar, biarlah ia tetap benar; barangsiapa yang kudus, biarlah ia tetap kudus’…”  (Wahyu 22:11)

 

 

And Ellen White in Early Writings page 281 wrote, “All heaven had united with Jesus, as they heard the fearful words, ‘It is done. It is finished.’...” notice she uses “It is finished”  synonimous to “It is done”. ”...‘It is done. It is finished.’  The plan of salvation had been accomplished, but few had chosen to accept it.”

 

Dan Ellen White di Early Writings hal. 281 menulis, “Seluruh Surga sudah bersatu dengan Yesus ketika mereka mendengar kata-kata yang mengerikan, ‘Sudah terlaksana. Sudah selesai.’…”  simak Ellen White menggunakan “Sudah selesai” bersinonim dengan “sudah terlaksana”. “…‘Sudah terlaksana. Sudah selesai.’ Rancangan keselamatan sudah terlaksana, tetapi hanya sedikit yang memilih untuk menerimanya...”

 

 

And so Jesus will then leave the Most Holy place, and a terrible Time of Trouble will ensue. During this time God's people will live without what? Without an intercessor. A death decree will be legislated against those who keep the Sabbath. Notice that this “It is finished”  is related to the Sabbath as well, it will appear like God's people will be wiped out from the face of the earth because of their Sabbath observance, and this leads us to our sixth “It is finished”.

 

Maka Yesus kemudian akan meninggalkan Bilik Mahakudus, dan suatu Masa Kesusahan Besar yang mengerikan akan terjadi. Selama waktu ini umat Allah akan hidup tanpa apa? Tanpa Perantara. Suatu titah pembunuhan akan disahkan terhadap mereka yang memelihara Sabat. Simak bahwa “Sudah selesai” ini terkait kepada Sabat juga, akan tampak seolah-olah umat Allah bakal tersapu bersih dari muka bumi karena praktek mereka memelihara Sabat, dan ini membawa kita ke “Sudah selesai” yang keenam.

 

 

The Sixth “It is finished”

This also comes from the Most Holy place of the Heavenly Sanctuary, Revelation 16:17 is the seventh plague, the last plague that marks the coming of Jesus. God's people are under a sentence of death, and notice what the seventh angel says, “¹⁷ Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven...”  this is the Most Holy place “...from the throne, saying...” what?  “...‘It is done!’...”  The persecution of My people is over.

 

“Sudah selesai” yang keenam

Ini juga datang dari Bilik Mahakudus Bait Suci surgawi, Wahyu 16:17 itu Malapetaka Ketujuh, malapetaka terakhir yang menandai kedatangan Yesus. Umat Allah ada di bawah ancaman hukuman mati, dan simak apa kata malaikat ketujuh,  “¹⁷ Kemudian  malaikat yang ketujuh mencurahkan cawannya ke angkasa. Dan suara yang nyaring keluar dari  bilik Mahakudus di Surga, dari takhta itu, katanya...” apa? “...‘Sudah selesai…”  persekusi umatKu sudah berakhir.

 

 

Notice Ellen White's description of this in Great Controversy 635 and 636, “When the protection of human laws shall be withdrawn from those who  honor the law of God, there will be, in different lands, a simultaneous movement for their destruction. As the time appointed in the decree...” this is the death decree “...draws near, the people will conspire to root out the hated sect. It will be determined to strike in  one night a decisive blow, which shall utterly silence the voice of dissent and reproof. The people of God—some in prison cells, some hidden in solitary retreats in the forests and the mountains--still plead for divine protection, while in every quarter companies of armed men, urged on by hosts of evil angels are preparing for the work of death. It is now, in the hour of utmost extremity that the  God of Israel will interpose for the deliverance of His chosen. It is at midnight that God manifests His power for the deliverance of His people. The  sun appears, shining  in  its  strength.  Signs and  wonders  follow in  quick succession. The wicked look with terror and amazement upon the scene while the righteous behold with solemn joy the tokens of their deliverance. Everything in nature seems turned out of its course. The streams cease to flow. Dark, heavy clouds come up and clash against each other. In the midst of the angry...” now listen carefully, “...In the midst of the angry heavens is one clear space of indescribable glory, whence comes the voice of God like the sound of many waters, saying: ‘It is done.’ (Revelation 16:17). The persecution of My people is over.”

 

Simak deskripsi Ellen White tentang ini di Great Controversy hal. 635-636, “…Ketika perlindungan hukum-hukum manusia ditarik dari mereka yang menghormati Hukum Allah, di pelbagai negara akan terjadi gerakan serempak untuk membinasakan mereka. Ketika waktu yang telah ditetapkan dalam perintah itu…”  ini titah untuk membunuh mereka,   “…semakin mendekat, orang-orang akan bersekongkol untuk mencabut sampai ke akar-akarnya sekte yang dibenci. Akan ditetapkan untuk mengadakan dalam satu malam, suatu serangan yang mematikan, yang akan seluruhnya membungkam suara-suara yang menentang dan yang menegur. Umat Allah ~ beberapa di dalam penjara, beberapa bersembunyi di tempat-tempat terpencil di hutan-hutan dan gunung-gunung ~ masih terus memohon perlindungan Ilahi sementara di setiap tempat kelompok orang-orang yang bersenjata, atas dorongan balatentara malaikat-malaikat jahat, sedang bersiap-siap untuk melakukan pekerjaan pembunuhan. Sekarang inilah, di saat yang paling ekstrem, Allah Israel akan turut campur demi penyelamatan umat pilihanNya. Pada tengah malamlah Allah menyatakan kuasaNya untuk menyelamatkan umatNya. Matahari muncul, bersinar dengan kuat. Mujizat-mujizat dan keajaiban-keajaiban mengikuti dalam urutan cepat. Orang-orang jahat memandang dengan teror dan keheranan pada pemandangan itu sementara orang-orang benar melihat dengan sukacita khusus tanda-tanda penyelamatan mereka. Semua di alam sepertinya berubah dari semestinya. Sungai-sungai berhenti mengalir. Awan-awan yang gelap dan tebal muncul dan bertabrakan satu sama lain. Di tengah-tengah…” sekarang dengarkan baik-baik, “…Di tengah-tengah langit yang murka ada satu tempat yang tak terlukiskan mulianya, dari mana datang suara Allah seperti bunyi banyak air, mengatakan, ‘Sudah terlaksana’ (Wahyu 16:17). Persekusi umatKu sudah berakhir.”

 

 

Are you understanding all these “It is done”’s? Does all of these, “it is done”’s  have to do with the Sabbath? Why do the wicked want to destroy God's people? Because they observe the sabbath. But God is going to say, “The persecution is finished, it is done.”

 

Apakah kalian memahami semua “Sudah selesai” ini? Apakah semua “Sudah selesai” ini berkaitan dengan Sabat? Mengapa orang-orang jahat mau membinasakan umat Allah? Karena mereka memelihara Sabat. Tetapi Allah akan berkata, “Persekusi sudah selesai, sudah terlaksana.”

 

 

The seventh “It is finished”

Now in our previous study together, we noticed the last “It is done” it also involves the Sabbath.  Revelation 21:3 through 7 say, “ ³ And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. ⁴ And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying...” is this a restoration of what existed at the beginning? Absolutely! “...There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.’ ⁵ Then He who sat on the throne said, ‘Behold, I make all things new.’...” in other words, I'm going to create again as I did at the beginning. And what does it say following this?  “...And He said to me, ‘Write, for these words are true and faithful.’ ⁶ And He said to me...” what?  “...‘It is done!...”   so when He makes a new heavens and a new earth He's going to say, “It is done. I have restored everything to the way that it was at the beginning.” And what is the day that we're going to keep, to commemorate the fact that everything has been restored as it was at the beginning? Isaiah 66:22 and 23 says that we will go every Sabbath to worship before the Lord, to commemorate the Creation of new heavens and new earth.

 

“Sudah selesai” yang ketujuh

Nah, di pelajaran kita sebelumnya, kita sudah menyimak “Sudah selesai” yang terakhir, ini juga melibatkan Sabat. Wahyu 21:3-7 mengatakan, “³ Dan aku mendengar suara yang nyaring dari Surga berkata: ‘Lihatlah, kemah Allah ialah bersama manusia dan Ia akan diam dengan mereka, dan mereka akan menjadi umat-Nya, Allah sendiri akan bersama mereka, dan menjadi Allah mereka. ⁴  Dan Allah akan menghapus segala air mata dari mata mereka, dan tidak akan ada kematian lagi; maupun duka, maupun ratap tangis.…”  apakah ini suatu restorasi dari apa yang ada di permulaan? Tentu saja!   “…Tak akan ada lagi rasa sakit, sebab segala sesuatu yang lama itu telah berlalu. ⁵ Lalu Ia yang duduk di atas takhta berkata, ‘Lihatlah, Aku menjadikan segala sesuatu baru!’…” dengan kata lain, Aku akan mencipta lagi sebagaimana yang Aku lakukan di awal mula. Dan apa yang dikatakan mengikuti ini? “…Dan Ia berkata kepadaku, ‘Tulislah, karena kata-kata ini benar dan bisa dipercaya.’ ⁶ Dan Dia berfirman kepadaku,…” apa? “…‘Sudah terlaksana…”  Jadi ketika Dia membuat langit baru dan bumi baru, Dia akan berkata, “Sudah terlaksana.” Aku sudah memulihkan semuanya ke kondisinya pada awal mulanya.” Dan manakah hari yang akan kita pelihara untuk memperingati faktanya bahwa segalanya telah dipulihkan sebagaimana keadaannya pada mulanya? Yesaya 66:22-23 mengatakan bahwa setiap Sabat kita akan pergi beribadah di hadapan Tuhan, untuk memperingati Penciptaan langit baru dan bumi baru. 

 

 

Now let me read you this statement from Ellen White, last, notice how she connects Creation, Redemption, and Recreation, and the Sabbath.  “[at creation] In the beginning the Father and the Son had rested upon the Sabbath after Their work of creation...”  What did the Father and Son do after the work of Creation? They rested.  “... When ‘the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them’ (Genesis 2:1), the Creator and all heavenly beings rejoiced in contemplation of the glorious scene...” And now she quotes a verse to prove this, “...‘The morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy.’ (Job 38:7)...” so what did the Father and the Son do at Creation? They rested, right? But now it turns to Redemption.  “...Now...”  that is in Joseph's tomb“...Jesus  rested from the work of redemption; and though there was  grief among those who loved Him on earth, yet there was joy in heaven. Glorious to the eyes of heavenly beings was the  promise of the...”  what? Oh, now it looks towards the “...future. A restored creation, a redeemed race, that having conquered sin could never fall—this, the result to flow from Christ's  completed work, God and angels saw. With this scene the  day upon which Jesus rested is forever linked. For ‘His work is perfect’ (Deuteronomy 32:4) and ‘whatsoever God doeth,   it   shall   be   forever.’  (Ecclesiastes 3:14)...”  and now notice“...When there shall be a ‘restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began’ (Acts 3:21), the  creation Sabbath, the day on which Jesus lay at rest in Joseph's tomb,  will still be a day of rest and rejoicing. Heaven and earth will unite in praise, as ‘from one Sabbath to another’ (Isaiah 66:23) the nations of the saved shall bow in joyful worship to God and the Lamb.”  (The Desire of Ages, pp. 769, 770).

 

Sekarang izinkan saya membacakan pernyataan ini dari Ellen White, yang terakhir. Mereka beristirahat, benar? Tetapi sekarang beralih ke Penebusan.   “…Sekarang…”  ini di dalam kubur Yusuf Arimatea   “…Yesus beristirahat dari pekerjaan Penebusan; dan walaupun ada dukacita di antara mereka yang mengasihiNya di bumi, namun ada sukacita di Surga. Mulialah di mata para makhluk surgawi janji…”  apa?  O, sekarang ini memandang ke  “…masa depan. Penciptaan yang dipulihkan, umat yang telah ditebus, yang setelah mengalahkan dosa tidak akan pernah jatuh lagi – ini, hasil yang akan mengalir dari pekerjaan Kristus yang sudah lengkap, dilihat oleh Allah dan para malaikat. Hari di mana Yesus beristirahat selamanya terkait dengan adegan ini. Karena  ‘pekerjaan-Nya sempurna’ (Ulangan 32:4) ‘apa pun yang dilakukan Allah itu akan tetap untuk selamanya’ (Pengkhotbah 3:14)…”  dan sekarang simak. “…Ketika akan ada ‘pemulihan segala sesuatu, yang telah difirmankan Allah melalui mulut semua  nabi-Nya yang kudus sejak awal dunia’ (Kisah 3:21), Sabat Penciptaan, hari di mana Yesus terbaring dalam perhentian di dalam kubur Yusuf (Arimatea) masih akan tetap menjadi suatu hari perhentian dan sukacita. Langit dan bumi akan bersatu dalam pujian, karena ‘dari satu Sabat ke yang lain’ (Yesaya 66:23) bangsa-bangsa yang telah diselamatkan akan sujud dalam ibadah penuh sukacita kepada Allah dan Sang Domba.” (The Desire of Ages hal.769-770).  

 

 

Did you notice how she links Creation, Redemption, and the new Creation? And what is the  sign of all three? The Sabbath. God's plan has never changed. Each “It is finished”  has to do with the Sabbath. And praise the Lord, that after God creates a new heavens and a new earth, after Jesus creates a new heavens and a new earth, God's people will enjoy rest with their Creator, resting as Adam and Eve did on that first Sabbath in the Garden of Eden.

Even though we did not work to create, we did not work to redeem, we will not work to recreate, we will keep the Sabbath in what He has done, not in what we have done. That's the reason why the Sabbath is a sign of righteousness by faith, not righteousness by works, because it's all about Him, it is not about us.

 

Apakah kalian menyimak bagaimana Ellen White mengaitkan Penciptaan, Penebusan dan Penciptaan baru? Dan apakah tanda ketiganya? Sabat. Rencana Allah tidak pernah berubah. Setiap “Sudah selesai” berkaitan dengan Sabat. Dan puji Tuhan, setelah Allah menciptakan langit baru dan bumi baru, setelah Yesus menciptakan langit baru dan bumi baru, umat Allah akan menikmati perhentian bersama Pencipta mereka, beristirahat sebagaimana yang dilakukan Adam dan Hawa pada Sabat yang pertama itu di Taman Eden. Walaupun kita tidak bekerja mencipta, kita tidak bekerja menebus, kita tidak akan bekerja menciptakan ulang, kita akan memelihara  Sabat dalam apa yang telah dilakukan Allah, bukan dalam apa yang telah kita lakukan. Itulah alasannya mengapa Sabat adalah tanda dari pembenaran oleh iman, bukan pembenaran oleh perbuatan, karena semuanya adalah tentang Dia, bukan tentang kita.  

 

 

Now we have how many “It is finished”  left yet? Well, we actually have three “It is finished”  left.

1.    We have the “It is finished” at the close of probation,

2.    we have the “It is finished” at the seventh plague when God's people are delivered,  

3.    and we have the last “It is finished”  when Jesus makes a new heavens and a new earth, and we will be able to dwell with Him throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity.

 

Nah, jadi masih ada berapa “Sudah selesai” yang tersisa (yang belum terjadi)? Sebenarnya masih ada tiga “Sudah selesai” yang tersisa.

1.    “Sudah selesai” saat tutupnya pintu kasihan,

2.    “Sudah selesai” saat Malapetaka Ketujuh ketika umat Allah diselamatkan, 

3.    dan terakhir “Sudah selesai” ketika Yesus membuat langit baru dan bumi baru, dan kita akan boleh tinggal bersamaNya sepanjang masa kekekalan yang tidak ada habisnya.

 

 

Has God's plan for the Sabbath ever changed? It has never changed. To insert Sunday here is an intrusion, it doesn't fit, it's like sticking a square plate in a circle. It doesn't fit the plan of God. From Creation is the Sabbath, Redemption is the Sabbath, and the final Restoration is the Sabbath. God not only gives us things, He gives us of His time and relationships are based on time. So let's let everyone know about the blessings of the Sabbath.

 

Apakah rencana Allah untuk Sabat pernah berubah? Itu tidak pernah berubah. Memasukkan hari Minggu di sini merupakan suatu intrusi, tidak cocok, seperti memasukkan sebuah lempeng persegi ke dalam sebuah bulatan. Itu tidak sesuai dengan rencana Allah. Dari Penciptaan itu Sabat, Penebusan itu Sabat, dan Pemulihan terakhir itu Sabat. Allah tidak hanya memberi kita benda-benda, Dia memberi kita waktuNya dan hubungan itu berdasarkan waktu. Jadi marilah kita memberitahu semua orang tentang berkat-berkat Sabat.
